  1. That certainly can brighten ones day. He is a keeper and I hope that between both of you working on your problems you will find something(s) that will get you back on track and feeling better.
  2. yeah, sometimes the post sessions are a killer! Hope you were able to sleep and feel better this a.m.
  3. If you are talking about early beats like pac, pvcs I have been told and read that in the absence of structural heart problems, they are of no significance. It would be a good idea to catch these on a monitor to put your mind at ease. Even rapid heartrate, they can document it, and put your mind at ease.
  4. Hi, Please don't give up . Though all of us here are spread out all over the world, we are right there with you. Whatever little thing gives you pleasure, hold onto that tight, tight, tight. Reach out to your friends, the ones you know who will stand behind you so you are not physically alone. Sometimes, like they say, when you are in your darkest hour, as low as you think you can go,things change and you see a ray of light of hope. Things will get better, keep hanging in there. Sending you a big hug and know we are here for you.
  5. Wow, a great honor! Congrats! It would be nice to see it in print someday.
  6. Hi Poohbear, Glad to hear you fared well during your trip and have gotten some help. I hope something that they recommened will help you. I understand what you mean about the meds. Being out of it from medicine that does help keep your rate lower is nice that it keeps your rate lower but it still keeps you from going out and being a part of life. Maybe there is a bit of tweaking that can be done to get the side effects to be tolerable. Look forward to hearing of your experiences. Rest and relax
  7. Thanks Gena. I called the Dr. again, I hate calling on weekends but I just could not take it anymore. He told me to go right back to the atenelol. I had already taken a 1/4 klonopin and that took the edge off a bit then I took atenelol 25mg. I finally felt well enough in an hour to go see my daughters soccer championship game(Yeah they won!!)and my heart did not fly around. I still feel tight in the chest and am not 100% but at least I can move with out jumping to 140. Now I have to go see the Dr. That is a guaranteed hour wait but he does care.
  8. wow, you certainly have been through alot and I hope that is the worst that it was and it is only positive from here on in. Your post certainly helps to put some things into perspective for me. I just hate that we all are having some degree of difficulty and sometimes it is even harder to find the right person to help us, the right meds to help us etc....Thank goodness for your Dr., he really seems he is trying hard to help you. Sounds like a keeper. The chef idea is great. How nice of them to think of you and do that. Don't worry about your work though, there are always crumbs like that unless they are in the position themselves think that we are overexaggerating our illness epsecially if we by appearance don't look sick. Well wishes your way on your road to recovery.
  9. Hi friends, I hate to vent but I'm done crying here and still feel the need to let loose. I woke up yesterday morning with getting up and going to the bathroom and my hr shot up. It sat in the 130's to 140's the whole time I am up. Taking a shower was an adventure. All day I experienced this. I took an event monitor reading when I got up from sitting and it was in the 130's and was sinus tachy according to the technician. I called my cardio and he thinks I undermedicated myself(we were trying to switch me from atenelol to toprol)so I took the full dose felt a bit better for a little while but by the late p.m. felt yucky again. Once again this a.m. woke up a bit tachy but when i went up the stairs to the bathroom,,whoo hoo the hr was right back up. Now my b/p does not drop that I note. I take it with my cuff and it usually goes higher than normal unless it is because it is compensating for my hr being high otherwise I might fall over So even as I sit it is in the high 90s sometimes in the high 100's. I hate to have to call and have my cardio paged again but I think I should go back to the atenelol. I know how much I can medicate myself with that and maybe I can get past this. My daugther is upset and crying because she knows I do not feel well that makes me worse. She has a championship soccer game at noon and I want to go but when I get up,,boom! I feel so thirsty, I guess from all the adrenaline that has been floating around. Have a headache. My teeth have been chattering off and on all day and night and still now and the chills,,,well brrr, they have been off and on also,,what's with that? So I am going back to my pity party here, hoping this will subside. Guess work will be out of the question for me tomorrow. Thanks for listening.
  10. That is a bummer. Does he do home visits at all? My hubby and I have a massage therapist that does medical massage, stretching, triggerpoint etc. He comes to the home. That is a nice treat for us. Hopefully he does have someone to refer you too that is knowledgable like himself.
  11. I take toprol xl and my resting rate on a good day is in the 80's but lately it is in the 90's and getting up 120 and moving shoots it up into the 130's/140's. What about thirst? Anyone notice an increase in thirst during a bad time? I keep drinking and I am still thirsty, what is with that. From all the adrenaline? How can one exercise with that! Last week I could exercise this week forget about it
  12. Hi Gena, My adrenaline surges are not limited to any particular time. I get them sometimes off and on all day. Most of the time it starts with chills and teeth chatters I feel pressure in my head, behind my eyes, my pulse starts to quicken and slowly gets faster until it peaks, usually in the 130/140's then slowly goes back. I keep chattering and have the chills even though I am not cold and I sweat also. I also get chest aches and pains, figuring that is from tightening muscles and I usually have to belch afterwards,,how strange is that! A full blown episode usually lasts 45 minutes until my rate goes down then hovers in the 90's. I don't have any definitive triggers but many times my worst episodes occur mid-cycle or the day of my period and linger for a day or two during. The off and on all day adrenaline rushes I have no idea what is up with them. My dr. has offered no explanation other than me being hypersensitive, hyperadrenergic, all in all no real clue. When these episodes happen the betas are useless to me. I take a small klonopin so at least I don't feel everything. Has your dr. offeredyou any explanation? P.s. now that I read previous post I have to add that watching a movie, whether it be sad, drama, action can set me off also as well as being stuck in traffic
  13. I wake with tachy also and by the time I get up and move it is flying. I've never had the the seizure though but I do have the shakes and trembles.
  14. Good for you!!! It is great to hear good news,,you keep going!
  15. Welcome Amanda, This is a great place for a wealth of information and support. My dr. here has not "labeled" me dysautonomic but after the run of tests over the years especialy this last year he tells me my heart is fine it is my nervous system. So there I am. Tachycardia when walking. A bit tachy when sitting and sometimes normal. You are right it probably was a blessing in disquise that you did not have the ablation done. Everything I have read says that it can do more harm than good in people with pots, ist etc. May I ask do you have other symptoms? Are you tachy when you stand, do you have low b/p or normal or high?
  16. I have to say things will get better, though I certainly don't feel that way about it myself, personally. I am having a lousy patch now and feel like I will never get out of this hole. Some sort of tachy almost constantly, feeling every beat and every little thing that is going on in my body. Chills and chatters,,blah. I know once these rough patches start it is so hard to believe they will ever let up. As soon as you take one step forward it seems like you are kicked to steps back. Going to Cleveland gave you some answers though, unfortunately it is not easy to find local physicians who are willing to look at the info. I think they become insulted that we look for help elsewhere when they feel they can give us the treatment we need. I went to the clinic in Alabama years ago, and still go when I can make the 12hr trip but I have yet to meet a dr. here that subscribes to the whole syndrome thing that goes on. Seems if it is not cut and dry or one pill does not cure all then they don't know what to do. Keep doing what you they told you to do for yourself, search for a new dr. if need be. I am not confrontational either and I worry that if I do become that the dr. will release me from his care, though if he did that would only prove that he was not the right one. Hang in there. you'll get stronger and get through this too.
  17. Hi Jennifer, I have days when I am slightly tachy just sitting, like in the high 90's and getting up and moving really gets it going. Just getting up to the bathroom can send it running. I get bouts of sinus tachy just doing nothing though and now I am on toprol for the past 2 days and it does not seem to be doing anything at all for the tachy or adrenaline rushes. Hi Ernie, sorry that you have these darns rushes too no matter what you do but thanks for letting me know I am not alone.
  18. I can have mini episodes just sitting with chills and teeth chatters and tachy. My b/p is usually o.k., not to low or normal. Anyone else or am I swimming alone? P.S., whoever said this adrenaline stuff is "such a rush" should have it all the time..lol.
  19. I have trouble with both also. I sweat when I am cold also. Layers on layers are not nearly enough at times and then at times I have the shed them also, my fingers start to swell and my face feels hot. Never a happy medium
  20. Lights bother me also. I even wear sunglasses on cloudy days, sometimes there still is a glare and it bothers me.
  21. Oops, got rid of this msg,, should have checked the board first about your stress test.
  22. Hi, I can get pretty tachy at times up to 140/150. Mostly in the 100's or 90's.. Anyway I get forceful beats, sometimes I notice every single beat and feel it too and I am not particularly tachy at that time either, could be in the 90's. Then there are times when I get up or move around and the beat pounds that I can feel it up into my head. This I especially note during my period time or pre-period time. I even feel the pressure in my chest. Very annoying..
  23. Hi Morgan, Last year I started having this vibrating sensation in my lower abdomen. It would come and go. Then I started to have it in my feet. It was like a buzzing sensation, almost if someone held a electric razor or a vibrating cell phone to your body. I went to the neuro, he dismissed any serious disorder and told me it was part of BFS, benign fasciculation syndrome. I also started to get twitching in different areas. I had problems with sciatica and he felt it could definately be from that. It has lessened since but still comes back at times. Now when I get a medical massage and the therapist stretches my leg up, I sometimes get the buzzing feeling in my toes, he says it is from the tight muscles pressing on the nerve and/or the pull of the leg pulls the nerve in the lower lumbar area where my sciatica starts. I can't ride a stationary bike or as stupid as it sounds, when grocery shopping I sometimes ride the outside of the cart with the kids in it and the vibrations after I get off, wow,,my feet/legs are tingly..lol It may not be what you experience but since you said you have si problems it may be.
  24. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It will make it a whole lot easier to explain rather than by me explaining it. Most I talk to just don't get it. If I have not said it before(lol), thank you!!
