  1. Thanks you two. It is, well not that I want to put it this way, but it is nice to know one is not alone. Melly, I do check my b/p at home as well as my heartrate. Not sure that is always a good idea though. I may become more neurotic and worry about things that I probably should not, but oh well, that's me. I was curious since so many have low b/p most if not all of the time. Thanks again!
  2. I have been a bit more tachy than usual lately. It has been jumping up when I get up and move around and it was high today at work(I stand outside with schoolkids during lunch for 2 hours). Those tachy's I expect. I have been having tachy just sitting sometimes, it's not jumping to a high rate right away but gradually going up and peaking then going down and staying in the upper 90's for hours then. Was wondering, if one's diastolic(lower number) is higher while feeling tachy is it because of the tachy or is it because the b/p was dropping and the body is trying to compensate and raises the b/p and the tachy follows? I don't normally have high b/p. Last reading in the Dr. office last Thurs it was 100/60 but it usually is higher lately. Even today it was 90/85 or 110/88. I know those are not terrible numbers but I never used to even reach past the 80's. Dr. knows all this and is not concerned but I am. Just wondering if there is any correlation with a higher diastolic b/p and tachy, dysautonmia issues. Thanks for any info!
  3. Better safe than sorry go get them checked. I have had many removed also.
  4. Hi Stacey, Welcome. Glad you found someone who is trying to help and hopefully this dysautonomia specialist can get you back on track. I'm from NY also. Who are you seeing and going to see if you don't mind me asking. I know you will find plenty of support here!
  5. Hi Blackwolf, I know this is a bag of mixed feelings for you. Glad they found the source of pain for you and I am sure it will go well with a positive outcome. Please let us know how your appointment goes.
  6. Well, what can say but Whoo Hoo on the postive thoughts and actions you were taking to get back on track, and Boo Hoo on your ankle, that puts a damper on things. Using crutches? Maybe be the first one to cross a finish line on crutches? lol Don't let it get you down, use the time now to really get your plan(s) in action. How long in the cast?
  7. Hey Poohbear, Those nasty hormones certainly play tricks. Usually I try to keep track of my cycle but sometimes forget then I become particularly symptomatic and then I trace back and note it is probably due to my cycle changes, like mid cycle or day before period begins etc. Indulge a little in the ice cream if that would make you feel a little better. I know you are worried about the weight but a couple of spoonfulls just might make you feel better. I know I am way late on this post (as usual) but remember that for next time. I hope you are feeling better this a.m.
  8. Sorry you re feeling so poorly. Hoping you get some answers from the neurologist. Hang in there, better days are bound to be ahead.
  9. Sorry to pop in so late with a HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish and many, many more healthy ones!!!
  10. Just adding my stats, 5"11, 135 lbs, size 6-7. I tend to lose weight easily and have trouble gaining. Think I may go back to protein shakes. The weight does not bother me by looking at it, though I suspect I might feel a bit better with a little more weight. I do carry the pouch around the middle(left over from 3 kids).
  11. I get the pressure in my head and behind my eyes and my b/p can be normal during it, other times it happens when I am having a run of tachy though my b/p does not go outrageously high. I like the way you explained as being upside down, that is exactly how I feel, like all the blood rushed to my head, it can last quite a while for me also.
  12. Same here. I get it during an episoded and after. Sometimes I get it and I know I am going to have an episode.
  13. I hope you are feeling even better now. Wow I feel bad for even posting my own post about my tachy episode, it looks like nothing compared to yours. I don't know if I would even be able to function. Hats off to you, you really are an inspiration, good spirits and right out there scooting around on wheels with all that going on. Certainly gives me something to think about in relation to how things are not always as bleak as it appears or feels to be.
  14. I had a good run there of about a month that I was doing fairly well. No major symptoms. Then BAM! After dropping my son off at footbal practice I ran to pay a bill. While driving I could tell that something was coming on. I could feel my heart was begining to beat faster. I did check my rate with my mio watch and at it went from the 90's to 100's and at one point it was 130. I have an event monitor which I pulled out and put up against my chest. I made it to the store and paid my bill. My rate was still high and I had the chills and teeth chatters by that point. My head usually feels like it will explode and I can feel pressure behind my eyes. I would swear that if I look in mirror my eyes would be the size of an owl's..sounds crazy but they feel so wide and open, guess it is adrenaline. Unfortunately it took a long time to lower, it always lowers gradually as well as it gets gradually faster when the episode starts. It stayed in the 90's all night. I felt the adrenaline running all night, feeling like it could happen at anytime. BTW my reading showed 110?(it certainly felt faster than that) and sinus rhythm. So here I sit, complaining, feeling sorry for myself, my body aching from the adrenaline rush, feeling on edge, my bp is still hovering a little high 110/120 over 84, feeling back at square one. Like I may never get those good days back again. Those kids have to get off to school and me off to work. Anyone get high b/p during an episode and feel the gradual onset and offset of the tachycardia? What about the adrenaline hanging around the body all night? The bit high b/p hanging around afterwards? (possibly from anxiety leftover?) Thank you all for letting me whine, now can someone pass the cheese and crackers to go along with it?
  15. Hi and welcome. My episodes sound similiar except they are not limited to the night. I just had one yesterday after a good month of feeling pretty well. I could feel the tachy coming on and my rate jumped up to about 130 and took quite a while to go back down. I felt shaky and had adrenaline just hanging around all night and still this a.m. I feel yucky still. Welcome and I am sure this is just rough time for you and you will get through.
  16. Please don't feel sorry about venting. Remember that your wife loves you and is there because she wants to be. Keep saying that you will not be like this forever. One day you will find a comfortable level to be at. Hang in there, better days are ahead
  17. Welcome Faith. I am sure you will find comfort and support here whenever you need it!
  18. Morgan, So sorry to hear or your ordeal and lack of help you were given. Compassion is lost in many physicians these days, sadly. I am not on the forum often but I do like to check in when I can so sorry that this is late. I hope you are feeling bette today. You sound strong and that certainly is one for you since all that negativity from the docs can certainly knock anyone down. Hang in there!
  19. I'm most always completely wiped out after a tachy episode. Quite normal I believe but can be quite debilitating too. Feel better.
  20. Hi, Sorry you are feeling so terribly My symptoms most of the time get worse also with the #2. Mostly for me I guess it is the straining, causing the blood flow to change. I will get a headache at times, lightheaded, shivers,,just plain miserable after. Last night I started back into the slumps again. Feel like I can't breathe, chest heavy, have the shivers/shakes, b/p fluctuating. A real mess. I also get one sided heaviness in my face, eye neck. I know I have issues with my neck but have not pursured it since it has not yet gotten really bad. Hang in there and I hope you get some answers at your appointment. Wishing you feel better soon.
  21. Morgan, Ditto here on being late. Best of luck and keeping all things crossed (even the eyes) that something good comes out of this!
  22. Hope you are feeling better Even the nice weather can do one in. My allergies are at their worst sometimes the nicer the weather is outside. Hang in there
  23. Hi EM, I have 3 of her books. They really helped me out when I was down and out years ago. So many symptoms were popping up, anxiety and panic were getting the better of me. The constant thinking of what was going on in my body, why no one could help me really set the anxiety off. I took those books everywhere with me. I highlighted areas all over the book. I still till this day, re-read the books. I find that just trying to reinforce that these are feelings or thoughts that I really am not going to pass out or die etc, that I can pull myself through, especially when I am out. I recently had trouble in my car with feeling like I could not breathe, rapid heart rate etc. Once that happened just being in my car would start me mind going. By practicing what Dr. Weekes taught I found for the most part I could get throught. I personally find it helpful with many situations not just anxiety.
  24. Sorry that you feeling so bad I have internal shakiness as well as external. The internal sometimes feels like a vibration. I have no idea why it happens. I wake up with it mostly and then during the day I guess I get used to it and do not notice it too much. I've just about given up on finding what sets it off or any possible answers. Hope you feel better soon
  25. Nice to see a supporter on board. Your family is very lucky to have you go the extra step and getting involved!
