  1. Glad to hear you talked to him about your meds. I hope you can get your hr under control soon. He sounds like a very caring man, those kind of docs are not easy to find.
  2. That certainly makes me not want to have one done. I give you a lot of credit for doing it but I guess with a hr that high it was best to rule it out. How often do you get that rate? Hope you are feeling better now.
  3. Ditto here. Anything loud or booming music, goes right through my chest. I always feel I am on adrenaline, and when it does ease up, it is like someone just shut it off, the internal shaking/buzzing goes. I wish I knew more on this but I don't.
  4. Hi Bamagirl, Thanks for responding to my post. My cardio does not feel it necessary to do an ep study. He feels it would do more harm then good.,ie, my anxiety before and during etc. He feels the rhythm strips I send him(with an event monitor I put on when I need it)shows him what he needs to know. I most of the time also feel like garbage when it hits. The chills, teeth chatters are the least of my problems, the chest tightness, feeling like I will pass out scares me, though I have not ever come close to passing out, guess it is the anxiety with the tachy. So you have not had an ep study or did you and they want to ablate?
  5. After going through a bad bout of tachy and trying to switch to toprol xl, I went back to atenelol. For a good week my heartrate was in the 70's resting and maybe the 80-90's getting up. Now today, my hr was 80's when I got up and proceed to do what it wanted. Standing and moving went to 130-140's. Sitting it sat at about 110 for a long time. At one point it went to 140 sitting and then started to go back down. (I took a 12.5mg after this started)guess it finally started to kick in. I have been taking 12.5 of the atenelol in the a.m. Does anyone's chest get tight while they are tachy? You stay tachy all day or how long do you stay tachy? How do you deal with this, do you still go out and try to do normal activities? I get the chillls and shakes with it so it is hard to go out with this. My readings show sinus tachy, and I have even tried certain manuvers to slow it but I guess because it is not a certain SVT it does not work. I HATE this, I HATE this, I HATE this! You think you may finally have gotten an edge on this business and it kicks you right back in the teeth to the floor.
  6. Hi Bamagirl, I get adrenaline surges all day. I take a tiny dose of bb,12.5mg and take klonopin 1/4-1/2 up to 0.5mg if needed. Do you notice it more mid-cycle or right before or during? I find it worse almost exactly mid-cycle, and the day before and day of.
  7. Funny you should post about looking for the cake post. So was I yesterday. Thought maybe I had been mistaken and she had posted it under someone else's post and I just could not find it. The fog must be traveling!lol.. I have only a few toes left that are not crooked. Too many bangs into furniture.
  8. Hope everything goes well today. Push the fluids, eat small binding meals, like rice. Good luck!
  9. Hi Bamagirl, I get the tingles too and also sometimes it runs right into tachy and other times I have no tachy. I get the same way with chills and teeth chatters, sometimes it is before the tachy starts and other times I have no tachy. Sometimes certain things make me jump and then all of a sudden it seems nothing can do it. I think it is just the way the nervous system is balanced at the time, to much on the sympathetic side or too much on the parasympathetic side. Crazy nervous system we have
  10. Glad to hear you had a good trip and came back armed with some news to treat yourself. I hope the new meds work for you. Brr, that is some cold weather!
  11. Hi and welcome. Sorry about all that has gone on with your family That certainly is a lot of stress on top of family and school. Good news is you found a Dr. who diagnosed you and hopefully this will be the start of finding what works for you to function. I take a little beta blocker which helps with the pvc and pac's as well as the runs to tachy I get. My b/p is not exceptionally low either but the beta does not seem to push it any further down, which is good. You will find a lot of info on this site, links and in the archives. Start pushing fluids if you have not already. I find that helps with dizziness.
  12. I hope these new results work out for you. Thank goodness they were able to overnight the dye!
  13. Just remember that we are here to listen and offer support. You are trying your best, you do not want to be the way you are, and I am sure your husband knows that too. Keep going for that day when you will be able to do a little more, then a little more.
  14. Good luck and wishing you a safe trip and positive thoughts/prayers. Keep hydrated!
  15. I don't really have much else to add, the other great posts. You may not realize it, but you are coping. You have not given up yet, and I don't think you will. You will learn more and more each day on how to cope. Especially like Ernie said, once you go through the steps, you will find your coping mechanisims. We all hit rock-bottom at some point and it really seems like it is a long way up, it may not go the way you want but you'll get out. Have you been to the Dr. recently? If you feel like you are not getting the type of help and understanding you need maybe you need to look into someone else. Ask some friends, associates if they have any recommendations on a dr. who listens and is supportive. Hugs to you ((())).
  16. Yup, just a very sensitive nervous system. It's amazing how little things can set it off.
  17. As much as I like a hot shower or steamy bath I can't do it for very long. The hot shower makes me feel like I can't breathe, closes my sinsuses and my tachy starts. A hot bath will cause me to be dizzy, especially when I stand up. Thats the price I have to pay to relax my muscles.
  18. Welcome. Hate that you have to join us, but glad that you found us!
  19. I get tachy when I drink decaf also, but especially starbucks decaf. I will ask them 3 times, it's decaf right? About 10 minutes into drinking it,,bam I get palpitations and tachy. Skipped beat, skipped beat,,all night.
  20. I do experience some similar s ymptoms also. Tingling, heat rushes, chills, teeth chatters, etc. I posted mine also. Mine can happen at anytime. But I do notice it mostly during mid-cycle or right before my period. I do get daily little rushes, just not full blown. Hang tough through those episodes.
  21. Glad the baby is good. I hope you experience a tremendous relief in the second trimester or about 26weeks. I felt the best from there on in.
  22. I know how you feel. Usually I go for a cleaning, I am good then 6mths later I am hit with a root canal or crown..don't know how it gets there so fast.. I make sure when I do need an anesthetic to ask for the shot without epinephrine, for me the epi sends me into palpitations. Without the epi works just as well except that it is shorter acting so if it is a very deep cavity that requires more time they may have to give another one if you start to feel any sensations. Good luck
  23. I hope you are feeling better now. Better to have it checked by your neuro rather than sit and wait for possibly another episode to hit and worry all over again. I would think they would want you to have further testing for hypoglycemia also.
  24. I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. If you are feeling so bad with sinus problems/infections that certainly can keep your tachy up, your body is fighting an infection even if it does not show up anymore your body has been fighting it for a while. I don't know what meds, if any, you are on but if you are on a bb can you increase it a bit more? Have you checked your b/p, is it very low? Keep pushing those fluids too. Sending you a big hug and hope you are on your way to recovery and this is just a little setback. Once you are through this, maybe you can find a more compassionte dr. . If one does not fit right in the straight box of what they know, then it seems we are out of luck. They don't know how to help, and at a point I think they give up. It's sad, and for most of us, it is hard to find someone who really will stick by us and keep trying until we find something that helps. Hang in there.
  25. I get that too at times. Mostly when I am standing-more so when it is warm or hot(even in a room), I can wake up with it also,,forget about taking rings off. When I walk or exercise they will almost definately swell, turn red can see little white pinpricks throughout my hands and are hard to close my hands too.
