Your prayers and thoughts are successful

Hi everyone,

I just got home a few minutes ago from the first syncope/paralysis triggering test of the week.

I was treated so well at the hospital. The neurologist came to see me and reassured me that if something bad happens they will take care of me (ressuscitate). So I agreed to trigger an episode which was filmed on video. I was hooked on 29 wires for an EMG, EKG and EEG.

I made it to 8 minutes and fainted+paralyzed. They called the neurologist who did a neurological exam while I was paralyzed. He was amazed that no doctor had ever done one while I was paralysed.

He wanted me to move but I could not move anything. they were trying to trigger pain but I did not feel anything either. Then about 5 minutes later I could move my big toe and he worked on from there. He gave me a trick to unparalyse faster and I was able to pick myself up in about half the time. I was also able to feed myself and go to the real toilet!

He told me that the test was finished. I could see in his face that he knows the diagnosis. He will review the tests before giving the final diagnosis. I am just so impatient to get it.

I could see in his face when he saw me paralyzed that the diagnosis was easy to do and he could not figure out why no doctor figured it out before.

It is the first time I don't need and IV after an episode. It's almost as if I had no testing this morning. I feel so good.

I asked him to explain what the trick does on my body to help me unparalyze and he said that he would explain it later on.

I am thankful for all of you to offer your support and advice during this week.

I feel more confident that it will go fine on Friday.

Love

Ernie

WOW, I am very curious to see what the outcome of your testing shows!!! The paralysis thing happens to me as well, very scary. II swear even my tongue can't move!!! have been misdiagnosed as having a stroke many times. I am greatful to not have had one (a stroke) but I am look forward to see what the outcome of your testing is...

((Hugs)) and best wishes

Sue

Ernie, I'm so relieved that you've made it home in one piece...and so darned happy for you that you FINALLY got the type of treatment in hospital that you deserve. I hope that the answers he has for you give you some measure of hope, and better avenues of treatment. You are one brave lady! Nina

Hi everyone,

You are all so nice to encourage me and cheer me up. You are giving me strenght to continue my quest.

The neurologist did not tell me or hint me on any disorder but the technician told me that the test I did is usually to rule out epilepsy. I am pretty sure I don't have epilepsy.

The technician also told me that this specialist has seen many "rare birds" and he is a real good diagnotician. I hope I have found "House"!!!!!!!!

Love you all,

Yay Ernie! I have been thinking of you and worrying about you (even though we're not supposed to worry about things we can't control, I still do).

I am so glad you have found a "House"-like doc and hope you get a treatable condition diagnosis.
