  1. I do it too willow, my MD said it was deppression. I don't have classic signs of it and don't take anti deppressents. beats me
  2. My MD did not want me on it and said it was a steriod. I mentioned this to the EP who said its not a steriod and then some medical talk which I did not understand. So any way, maybe your MD "thinks its a steriod".
  3. http://www.umdf.org/mito_info/diagnostictesting.aspx maybe that will help
  4. lol, saves you the surfing but not the reading. I doubt that I could retain much. Its alot, and some is techinical, but I think it is there.
  5. Has doc written note stateing. "Patient may only work x number of hours perday"? I would give it to them ,then show up at the appropriate hour. I know this because I have done it. Well I thought that was the LAW, so I acted in accordance with my understanding. I told them to change my hours- I didn't ask. But I'm a manager at MCDonald's, so there's a big differance - maybe? I wish you luck!
  6. I can offer an opinion based on knowing myself? After seeing how low the bp can go, and hearing a medical proffessional say "near shock" (for God's sake). Now feeling the symptons scares you all the more and of course effects your bp more too. You might now think you are in serious danger. Well your not. when you faint-(IE lay down) the bp increases and you will not be near shock. This is why the body faints, its needs to be supine. you are not strapped in the upright position now!
  7. this is a really good site. shows HR, EKG and BP printouts for the various conditions. http://www.nymc.edu/fhp/centers/syncope/ac...and_syncope.htm
  8. well it could be hormone levels- hormones effect lots of things. Just a thought tho.
  9. Was told by doc yesterday that, I have NCS and Dysautonomia. So I look up Dysautonomia and NCS is a form of Dysautonomia. He says NCS does not occur seated. And OH, which I have, lasts only seconds. But my OH like symptoms that lasted 3 hours yesterday can be Dysautonomia. Not NCS -k? Not OH either. Got that? NCS is also NMH as we have seen on other threads recently, so here we go. NCS=NMH=Dysautonomia Dysautonomia is not NCS or OH yet OH is part of NCS which is part of Dysautonomia Well I would go on because I'm sure theres more- out there to confuse us. Which BTW is also part of NCS, POTS, NMH and Dysautonomia.
  10. I could be wrong too- tess. I wrote vasovagal but in my head that was NCS. NCS is my diagnosis. SOOOOO I'll look around too for clarification.
  11. during TTT my heart has been noted to go into junctional rhythm which is felt by me as a flutter. (quick and gentle- but "in "the upper chest)). I also go into bradicaridia (Which feels like a pounding). There are other types of heart rhythm and each probably has its own sensation. as katherine said- it would be a good idea to make sure yours are benign irregularites.
  12. Yeah! Welcome back. So glad for the good news re your meds being more effective. You don't know me, but I know you. been to you web site- and here.
  13. the HR has to go down for vasovagel, its very possible you did not know that it dropped because it can happen fast and that's when "your" lights will go out too. Ask for the report. The hosp. or doctor- will provide it.
  14. cut a lemon in half, use it like a wipe. Wipe- but wait 10 minutes (for thoro cleaning) and wipe with water (or it will be sticky). Really cleans. Vinager and water for glass or chrome.
  15. bribri insert the word "and" in your search IE muscle weakness and after exercise and exposure to cold
  16. go to pub med and search Bow hunter's syndrome or google or jeeves. http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/disor...l/cervical.html
  17. I have NCS and I'm no doctor, but........ with POTS the heart rate or bp goes up- IE tachy. With me they both go down. I have orthostatic hypotension. I have never been "tachy". When the bp needs to go up the response of the vaso deppressor muscle (?) is, DROP the HR and BP. oh sorry and , NCS is a drop in HR and BP . Don't think it has to result in faint. God knows it didn't always with me. On the TTT it did. And you haven't had one yet. oh boy! don't worry, I did not find the test unpleasent. Had 4 of them. You are attended by a doc, and can "pick his brains" during the test. At some point the may ask you to stop talking. But I always enjoyed having so much time to ask questions.
  18. I'm with Karyn- the event scared you and Adrenaline kicked in. Just My Opinion
  19. I'm sorry your feeling so badly Maxine
  20. this is from Wikipedia "Bisoprolol can be used to treat cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, arrhythmias, and treatment of myocardial infarction after the acute event. Patients with compensated congestive heart failure may be treated with Bisoprolol as a comedication (usually together with an ACE inhibitor, a diuretic and a digitalis-glycosid, if indicated). In patients with congestive heart failure, it reduces the need for and the consumption of oxygen of the heart muscle. It is very important to start with low doses, as bisoprolol reduces also the muscular power of the heart, which is an undesired effect in congestive heart failure."
  21. this is off a "Healthline" website "exposure to the cold causes the fingers, toes, ears or nose to become white, due to a lack of blood flow in the area. They then turn blue, which is a result of tiny blood vessels dilating to allow more blood to remain in the tissues. When the flow of blood returns, the area becomes red and then later returns to normal color."
  22. I very rarely feel my heart pumping now, where as before I felt the junction rythm flutters and brad pounds on and off all day and I don't know maybe I was feeling normal sinus beat to. Now its all quiet. However by far the best thing is I've passed out once in 5 years and that was after a colonoscopy. I was dehydrated. I was passing out 1 to 4 times a month. I could not drive for 4 years because of that. I can now!!!!!!!!!
  23. I have been on it for 5 years. I didn't see mention of it in anyones signature- that is why I asked. I can tell you that there is a manditory EKG shorthly after starting it. Only that one tho. Works really well for me.
