  1. I have been on the maxium amount of Phenergan for about six months for nausea and I think I have almost become immune to it's effects. It doesn't help as much anymore, and doesn't make me even the tinest bit drowsy anymore either. When your body gets used to a medication, if you stop it for a while would that make it start working again? Or is it like once your immune to it, your immune to it forever? Also, can this happen with all medications? I sure hope not...
  2. Do you think there is any other thing that would be as beneficial as jogging? I just hate it so much, and I could not imagine going five miles. I love swimming. Would that work? So happy you feel good!
  3. How do you manage the work load? I'm having some trouble. I have four homebound schooling teachers who come for two and a half hours a week each. Since they aren't here for that long they give me hours and hours of homework. Again I run in to the problem of people not understanding. I can't do all the work by the due dates they give me, exercise, do my chores etc. Some days I can't do anything. We can't break up the two and a half hour periods because a parent has to be there. My parents have jobs and there are three other kids, so finding that time is so difficult. I guess I don't expect them to give me less work since I need to get caught up, I just need tips on handling it. Thanks for any ideas!
  4. It's not dangerous. Mine was 11 I think. I just take a supplement too. The ones with lactose in them upset my stomach, so you just have to find a brand you like.
  5. Peanut butter, fried anything, pizza, tomatoes, chili, juice. And it changes all the time.
  6. I really like Prince Matchabelli body sprays because they are really light and not overpowering. There are a lot of different flavors but my favorite is cotton candy. It smells soooo good. They are super cheap though... I think target sells them for $6.
  7. I'm so sorry . I know how you feel- my cardiologist is dropping my insurance because the insurance company doesn't believe in POTS. I don't know what I'm going to do either, sorry. Just wanted let you know I'm going through the same thing.
  8. I have never been tested for it, would my cardiologist do that?
  9. I know a lot of Potsies get dizzy and feel sick in the shower. This weird thing has started happening though wether I take a shower or bath if the water is even remotely warm. My stomach and throat will start burning and I get so nauseaous that I can't even be on there for more than a minute which is not enough time. It feels like really bad GERD but medicines don't help. Any ideas? I don't like cold showers because I'm already usually freezing cold. And strangely sitting doesn't help one bit.
  10. I don't pass our either. I guess I have hyperPOTS because on my TTT my bp was in the 150s- 160s.
  11. That is so great!!!! So happy you are feeling better.
  12. If deconditioning caused POTS wouldnt half of America have it?
  13. Thanks for all the info! I'm starting with .1 in the morning. I will let you guys know how it goes.
  14. It definitely makes me feel sick. Lately though I have found that if I can manage to eat something I feel a little better. Yogurt usually.
  15. My doctor just called today and decided since Midodrine was making me feel to bad to function to switch to Florinef. Any bad side effects? Is it hard on your stomach? Is it helpful for you? Thanks
  16. I came across a really old post about tumeric significantly helping people with brain fog and fatigue. Does anyone take it now? Do you notice that helps? Also, do you take it in a tea or capsule? My mom is really in to all natural and I haven't been responding well to a lot of my meds so I thought I might give it a try...
  17. Wow, if I did all that I would be very potsy too. I try to do one "big" thing a day and even that's too much sometimes. And I'm so sorry about your dog.
  18. This happens to me at school. I don't think it's anxiety because my legs turn purple when it happens too. My doctor told me it was from a mix of sitting in one place for too long and trying to concentrate when I'm not getting enough oxygen to my brain.
  19. Times when my dizziness is at it's worst my eyelids will start to flutter. The two times when it happened around other people (my Dad and a nurse) they told me to stop doing that :/ but I can't control it. It's not like my eyes roll back or anything and I'm stil coherent it's just odd. Is this just another symptom of presyncope?
  20. I love the ocean. It is my absolute favorite place in the world. Every summer my family rents a house in North Carolina and I'm not exactly sure why but when I'm there I just feel perfect. Probably because I'm relaxed, getting lots of fluids and exercise, salty air, and vitamin D. I have spent hours floating and swimming in the ocean and besides getting a little breathless when the tide is rough I'm ok. That snorkeling experience sounds amazing! Sorry you felt sick for some of it. The breathing of carbon dioxide thing is interesting. I have never snorkeled before but I feel like I might get clausterphobic breathing underwater.
  21. That was just during the tilt test. I can handle Full House now lol.
  22. Normally at the Childrens Hospital where I got my TTT done they let you watch a non scary/ actiony movie during it. But my vitals were so crazy the doctor said he didn't want me to even watch Full House.
  23. I know how you feel. Two things that make me feel a little better when i'm home alone are my pets (not like they could really do anything but they are comforting to have around me ) and my mom let's one of our neighbors know if I'm really bad off that day and she needs to go out. Do you have anyone near by that could check on you sometimes or that you could call if you needed someone quickly?
