  1. Me too. I don't know if it's becoming more common or maybe we are doing a good job at spreading the word, but it seems like more people are being diagnosed. There are at least three kids in my highschool who have POTS.
  2. When you were getting the corrections did it make a crack noise? I went to a chiropractor who did stuff on my neck I'm not sure if it's the same or not?
  3. The past two times I have taken one fourth of a pill of Mestinon my stomach has been a wreck the entire next day. Coincidence? I don't think it is. The slightest things upset my stomach, so I'm guessing this really does. I don't want to take it. It's not worth it. But my doctor and my parents are telling me I have no choice. What do I do?
  4. Before I was diagnosed with POTS and at the beginning I had it constantly. I think it's cause I was just so stressed and confused then.
  5. Me too. I get it a random times. For me the scariest part is feeling like parts of my body aren't there- especially my hands. Also, I have noticed at places like malls, doctors offices, school I get this haze/ surreal dizzy feeling- maybe the flouresent lights?
  6. I want to try this. Do you eat anything when you do this? Do you still drink water, or only juice? How long do you do it for? Thanks.
  7. I'm fifteen, not allowed date until I'm 16. I think 15 or 16 is probably the average age.
  8. I have the exact thing your describing. The only thing that helps is applecider vinegar in water. None of the reflux meds help me either. I think the reason is for me I actually don't have enough acid in my stomach so it can't break down foods. That's why the vinegar helps. I'm so sorry you have this too- it's terrible.
  9. Thanks . It's not for a couple weeks, so I will let you guys know how it goes.
  10. Yes, so annoying. And drinking soooooo much definitely doesn't help.
  11. My Dad's work is having a little vacation thing for the company for a couple days by the Chesepeake Bay. I'm so excited because I just found out that another person who has POTS is going to be there! My Dads coworker's son who is my age has POTS, and they are actually the ones who told us about it in the firstplace. I have only met him once like five years ago when we were both healthy. So I'm finally going to meet someone who has POTS in person! Also, I probably wont feel like such a wierdo since everybody at my Dad's work knows about POTS by now.
  12. I guess I do. I didn't think I did, because I was so relieved when I was diagnosed, but practically everyday I worry I'm just lazy and it's all in my head. Then I have to reassure myself by looking at my purple legs lol.
  13. Oh my gosh!!! That's my favorite book! I also like Wings, it's kind of like Twilight but with butterfly fairys instead of vampires.
  14. Me too! I also have a phobia of vomiting- again not being in control of my body. This is one of the toughest things since I'm basically nauseous constantly.
  15. I was having trouble with that too. I had to use a picture off of paint on my computer or my iPod because they were the right size.
  16. When we had an earthquake I could feel the ground shaking before the rest of my family. Maybe I'm just so in tune to the way I feel standing up I noticed it more.
  17. In general, I don't think I sweat excessively but for some reason whenever I have a TTT done I do. Maybe it's a symptom of presyncope?
  18. I have to gradually make my self upright. If I "jump" right out of bed my legs turn to jelly and my head feels heavy. (hey I rhymed ). I usually feel pretty nauseous too until I eat something little for breakfast.
  19. Me too. Her birthday is coming up- I hope she is better by then!
  20. I'm missing my old self so much right now. My sister and all of my friends just got back from a One Direction concert and I soooooo wish I could of gone. The lights and noise and everything would have just been too much. I miss school, I miss having friends, I miss being a normal fifteen year old. I have been doing a little better with not feeling bad for myself but things like this just make it so hard.
  21. Wow! This is so cool. I have four dogs, and they can tell when I'm having a bad POTS day- I'm not sure about my levels of stuff- maybe that's what they sense.
  22. I have a twin sister- she doesn't have POTS and I do. But we are not identical. What is monoamniotic?
  23. Pros- I have learned a lot. Like getting straight A's is not the most important thing in life, and not to judge people, be thankful for the little things to name a few. Cons- Feeling guilty about causing turmoil within my family, strained realtionships- especially with my Mom, not getting to be a normal teenager. Also, I used to hate school but I wish I could go back now.
  24. It really makes me feel better too- I go sit in the sun whenever I can. The only thing is when i'm on midodrine the sun gives me a rash for some reason. But I have less other symptoms- and it makes me happy. Good article.
