  1. Ooops i forgot to add that it takes me at least a month or so to recover from antibiotics ... it messes up my digestion which then makes my muscles hurt which then makes me get dizzy ... most people dont react the same way as i do however it could be likely that you are still recovering from antibiotics as others have said
  2. Hope it all goes well lisa! Blood tests are not nice .. i faint with them too .. Hopefully they will find the vein easily for you As Poohbear advise ... drink lots of fluids, that can help kepe the viens a bit bigger... Take care and good luck
  3. Sometimes my arms and legs get weak .. usually its when my bp is low and my body feels like its fighting gravity or after exercise. Maybe all the exercise you are doing could cause muscles to fatigue later? My body certainly couldnt handle all that exercise .. im amazed how you do it Get it checked out to be sure!
  4. Hi stacey, Sorry to hear about your lab results. I know when the drs thought they found what was wrong with me (like 90% sure) then i got the tests redone and they came back normal i cried and cried and cried .... it seems counter intuitive yet its so nice to know whats wrong with your body and it so disheartening not understanding whats going on .... I assume you have gone through the whole deal or cortisol tests and thryroid/hormone tests? Im sorry i dont know what to suggest, i just wanted to offer support. *big hugs* Ps: the teddy you made and pictured in the other thread is gorgeous!
  5. Yeh the symptoms of pots are the same or similar to alot of thyroid or pituritary problems ... so hopefully if your results came up with problems a good endocrynologist can really help your quality of life! Good luck! I am under a endocrynologist and she is my wonder doc hehe... she got the ball rolling on my diagnosis of pots.
  6. Im so glad that you have that kind of support I think this illness sends us all a little crazy ... not the crazyness making us ill hehe
  7. Ok, well thank you for making this available I just filled out the form.
  8. Good luck with whatever choice you make, i hope your parents feel better soon too. I am unfamilliar with those sorts of tests so i dont have any imput other than wishing you well
  9. Yeh i lost most of my friends when i got sick too ... but now i have wonderful friends. In some ways it helps you weed out the not so loyal or empathetic people. It does sound like you are on a rough patch at the moment. I wish you the best of luck with your court case, i know its stressful and unwarrented, hopefully the judge will understand. I would say there is hope... it just can take a while for things to fix thats all
  10. Im glad that you had a good day $6000? thats rediculous! good luck with getting the samples, your dr sounds wonderfully supportive
  11. Im sorry to hear you may have mono (its otherwise known as epstien barr or glandular fever yeh?). I hope the blood tests give you a course of action... if it is mono then what rita suggested sounds like a good idea Let us know how it goes!
  12. Mine go blue and numb but they dont go red and burn .. so im not sure if mine pool or not anymore heh
  13. Are the brouchures very big? I live in aus and i dont want to ask for them if there would be a big postage cost for michelle. You can do online donations cant you? Does it have to be a credit card? I only have a debit card (with my money) ... hmm i will see if my parents mind me donating money with thier cards, my mum just doesnt like online credit card usage eek.
  14. Since there is supposed to be around 500 000 people who suffer from this in the sates i thought there would be more knowledge out there... pages like this do wonders Maybe you could start a support group for your area? Im not sure where you live or if its very populated.... its just an idea.
  15. mine go numb and i get pins and needles first ... i think its due to poor circulation. It could also be a pinched nerve somewhere on your neck or arm (im not to crash hot on anatomy so maybe check with a dr or massage therapist or something heh). Mine usually go blue when they go numb ... so that may be a differnet cause than you are experiencing.
  16. Congratulations! thats so great. Nice work what class was it for? or was it a essay compitition seperate to classes?
  17. Yes i think guilt is part of most long term sicknesses. The guilt lessens when you gain some independence .... but it still lingers in other aspects of life. Your daughter sounds lovely She would not do all of this for you unless she truely wanted to (i know when people say that to me it can sometimes make me feel more guilty for some reason). My mum use to drive me everywhere and not go overseas with my dad and stay home to make sure i was ok. (my dad travels alot so previously we would all go or my mum would go if i had classes). I use to feel bad when she gave up holidays for me. Ive got more independent lately and she has been able to go back to work so i feel a little less guilty now. However i still am very much financially dependent and i feel a bit guilty and pathetic about that. I hate it how people misinterpret the situation as me being spoilt as my parents dont make me work or pay board and im only doing part time study. I hate how people sometimes make me feel guilty about the situation when all i want to do is to be able to do do a normal load at uni and support myself with casual work. Have you told your daughter that you feel guilty that she is giving things up for you? maybe you could get a care givere like morgan suggested? Sometimes family members feel guilty for not giving the care themselves yet dont realise that the paitient may actually feel more comfortable with it anyway (maybe there is a two way guilt street thing going on heh). Losing control is tough ... control is a facsade in life, yet a lovely fascade to have
  18. No worries, let us know how it goes. It sounds like you will build a good case of defence so hopefully that will do the trick I will cross my fingers for you!
  19. Oh im sorry i was a dope and assumed they took you back to get blood tests done for alcohol levels ... but they would use breath tests wouldnt they? Can you afford to go to your drs and specialist to get documentaion to proove you have a illness that its nessicary for you to drink water if exercising etc? That ***** that your bagpipes broke .... when it rains it pours doesnt it Maybe you can use all the bad luck up and then the good luck will start in time for your court date
  20. When my symtoms are particullay bad i can take malls or any noisey crowded place ... its just overkill on my body at that time.... Sorry to hear you had to leave your job ... its really tough and quite confronting to have to do that. How silly is the disability system? I realise they have to to block people who fake illnesses out... but it usually is the hardest on the people who need it. Its really unfortunate. I hope the neurologist helps you at your next vist
  21. I get cold easily and hot easily heh. I got blue alot ... its due to poor ciculation i think. however i cannot sleep unless its under 20 Celcius. If its hotter i find it really hard to sleep .. its strange ... at night i seem to get hot yet in the day i get cold. Strange bodies we have Yeh at the start i was really slow too .... its frustrating, but try not to be hard on yourself.. your body is just having a tough time atm.. hang in there
  22. Hi Linda, I have rib problems too... aparantly i have a slight curve of the spine so one of my ribs poped out of place at the front of my rib cage .. strange thing is it coninsided with me getting sick... so lately i have thought it could be all due to breathing problems and lack of air = low bp = dizzy Plus all the other problems low oxygen can cause. Maybe it could be a similar situation for you? limited breathing capacity? This is a random theory of mine .. it has no medical backing .. so yeh dont take it too seriously .. its just a thought
  23. Thats wonderful! im so happy for you Yeh i use to worry about people thinking i was faking it .. in that i could go to the local movies but i didnt have the energy to travel a hour and a half to school and sit in class for 8 hours. People tend to think if you are out then that means you can work/study .... although i think the majority of people are understanding. I dont get the whole faking thing ... why would anyone want to fake it? why would anyone want to limit thier ability to enjoy life? its crazy! I think sometimes sick people tend to be oversensitive, its just so hurtful when people doubt you...but really we should not feel that we have to explain ourselves to the world. Dont let it stop you getting out and about! You deserve to enjoy your new level of mobility...
  24. thats horrible! I pleaded guilty but they dismissed the charge.... so maybe there is hope? Write down your whole experience and send it to your local MP ... sometimes local politicans do care and will help support you. Does your solicitor sound positive and helpful? or are you just another case in her workload. Thats really rotton that they not only did this, but treated you in such a way. It sounds odd to me that they had not been certan what they charged you with when they gave you the ticket.. or were they waiting for blood test results? Check for all the loopholes you may be able to find!
