  1. Your funny. I would love to sell my POTS. For Sale by Owner Dayna
  2. I Know how your feeling and it *****!!!! I have alot of anxiety re: this illness and also depression that I NEVER had for even a day before this illness....so I personally think it screws with your mind. What works for me is confidence. The first few times I go out I'm nervous but after doing it a few times I get confident and than don't have a problem until I have another bad pots episode than the visious circle starts over again and I have to adjust over again. Hang in there...........I know it's rough the illness alone is alot to handle but than add the emotions it brings it's pretty unbearable. Dayna
  3. Well I was on the lowest dose to begin with 25mg. So I'm not too worried because I haven't been on that long. Almost 2 months. If I was at a higher dose I would Definitely wean down but I have nothing to wean down from. I'll take 1/2 dose for 2 days than 1/2 of a 1/2 for 2 days than stop. That way I don't have to worry about heart attcks or anything like that. But either ways I don't think my doctors thinks it's a problem because I am on such a low dose. Thanks for all your imput!!! Good Night Dayna
  4. What type of diet are you on? Maybe you should go on an ALL junk food diet............just kidding Dayna
  5. I've been going back and forth with my doctor since Friday and I told here to px me inderal. Everyday I call and she says she's sending it over...............and never does. Well I left a final message stating that I'm stopping Metoprolol due to severe depression and it their are any concerns to call me. Well she didn't call so I assume I can just stop taking it. I was only on it for 2 months. I feel my hr going fast and am more nauseated but other than that I seem okay. Even in alittle better spirits. So I've already missed 2 days of it. Anyone just stop betas without weaning? I really feel betas were helping with migaines and nausea because my hr was slower but it's not worth feeling suicial over. I'd rather be sick and rational than feeling better and unable to smile or have hope. Does anyone know of a Beta that does not have depression as a side effect? I finally found something that helps with sx so I feel I should try another one. I just did alot of research on inderal and it showed their was some massive depressive reactions to this med (propatonolol) so I probally shouldn't go that route either. Any suggestions would be helpful................thanks to maggie for all your help re: bb Dayna
  6. I just Pm you. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to have you worry. I feel so bad. check you pm Dayna
  7. Hey Julie welcome to the forum and thanks for the shout out. I personally wouldn't need a confirmation if I was managing fine on my own. These illnesses can abate and maybe your one of the lucky ones. I would definitely mention it to your doctor incase you have questions in the future. Also if you start having problems which I hope you won't. I'm sure Macks' doctors would have great referrals for you. I hope you find all the answers you need and that you and Mack are adjusting to his school schedule. Have a great night dayna
  8. I'm glad to hear your son is improving I hope his road to recovery continues. Your an awesome Dad to fight for your son's health. Update us on your apt with Dr. Grubb. Dayna
  9. Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I agree with everyone else on not going throught with another TTT that's just not neccecary. I also know how you feel on not having the energy. I really need a new POTS specialist but am to tired and sick to search for a referral and do the whole medical records thing. I wish we could hire someone to do all of this for us. Or we could be kids again and our parents could search for our best treatments. We have so much limited energy it's sad it has to be wasted on stupid doctors. I wish you the best on your search.........I woulnd't give up just maybe take a break and the doctors will still be there when your ready. I keep thinking once they find the right combo of meds I will be functioning better once again but it's the challenge of finding a doctor that will go through the drug trials with you. I wish what works for one works for all with this illness than we could all be success stories. Dayna
  11. That is really crappy and you don't deserve to be treated that way!! That just makes me soooooooo pissed off that you have to go through this in the middle of an infection. I'm sending all my vibes and hope that you will find a caring doctor that you deserve once and for all!!!! Hang in there and you deserve a pity party you always seem to be so strong sometimes a little pity party gives you the strengh you need to fight for a better tomorrow!!! Try and get some rest Keep us updated Dayna
  12. I think things are getting better. The Valtrex must help it run it's course quicker. My back is feeling mostly better and the rash is healing. I'm just left with a blah feeling. Kind of like I'm getting sick but I guess any virus will wipe us out. Lots of fluids and relaxation for me Thanks for everyone's imput and I fortunate that I seemed to have a mild case of them. Hopefully my shingle days are coming to end...........except for our roof. We need to reshingle that Dayna
  13. I can relate to how your feeling. I wish I had the answers for you. Right now I say just take it one day at a time and hopefully you'll be having a night out with your friends again soon. I hate when doctors don't call back. Mine was suppose to call a perscription in on Friday and still hasn't so now I don't have a new bb to start. They need to stop dragging their feet and do something to help us!!! You can vent anytime. No one knows exactly how your feeling because this illness is different for everyone but what your going through is bad for you and we can't fix you physically but we can be here so you can express your thoughts and hopfully start to feel alittle better. Hang in there sweetie Dayna
  14. I also have gastroparesis and it seems to be getting more popular on these boards. I tried domperidone for about 2 months. At 2 months I kept having these weird dizzy spells. It felt like an anxiety attack but I never had one so I'm not sure. Anyways after stopping it these episodes went away ao I'm not sure if the domperidone was the cause or not. My only symptom of gastroparesis is the horrible nausea so I'll take a nausea med when that acts up. What are your sx from it? Good luck and it's worth a trial period. I also take reglan as needed since I can tolerate 5 mg. Dayna
  15. Thanks for posting. I hope things get brighter soon and we'll keep posting so you'll stay busy (((((HUGS))))) Dayna
  16. I've never had one but I hope someone will be able to help you on this subject. I had it were I was put under. Sig.....something it was called. I hope your feeling alright Dayna
  17. Thanks Julie I'm happy you found us but sad you have to be here. Are you posting for Mack? I hope he's doing okay. Thanks for the beta blocker advise. I'm taking them for migraines but guess I'll be trying something else. Dayna
  18. Well it's been too long and I gave my best shot but holy crap am I depressed from Metoprolol. I know a few people have this side effect and I was hoping I wouldn't be one of them. I'm going to try inderal Monday from suggestions of another potsie. What are the chances I'll still be depressed on that one? I know it's the meds because I feel less depressed at night when the med is wearing off......but in the morning I'm a crying babbling baby (I take it at night) I NEVER had depression before this illness now everytime a med has that as a side effect I get hit and hit hard (wanting to die and give in to the fight) So I'll update you but if you have any experience with Betas and depression let me know if you found one that worked. Thanks EVERYONE!!!!!! Dayna
  19. So sorry to hear about your hand. I'd also stick to the pool. I hope you still had a great vacation. Hope it heals soon Dayna
  20. Sorry to chime in so late. I hope your starting to feel better. I was so sad when I read that your in the hospital. Sending good vibes hoping you feel better and stronger each day Dayna
  21. Miriam- my shingles are on my stomach.........but it's my back that is hurting so bad. Did you have pain in a different spot than your shingles rash? Thanks Dayna
  22. I actually don't think the pain is from the shingles since they actually don't hurt. Itch and little and feel alittle sore but not painful. I was referring to the pain in my back, neck and shoulders. Maybe this is nerve pain from the shingles. I'm not sure if it's related or not Thanks for your imputs Dayna
  23. Congrats! That's wonderful news. Take it easy and don't over do it Dayna
  24. I usually have to chop all my meds into 1/2 because I'm so ultra sensitive. Well since I've been in so much pain I've been taking vicodin for the last 2 days...................well it barely works. I was hoping it would make me tired so I could sleep my pain away but it's made me not be able to fall asleep and I have to take 3 pills for it to be effective. 3 pills for Miss Sensitive. Each pill is 500 mg I was just wondering if anyone has a hard time finding relief with pain meds. Maybe I need another brand. Tramadol used to work good for me but can not be prescribed with Wellbutrin so that's out. Any suggestion that works for you? It's just for temporary use till my pain eases which I'm hoping will only be a few more days. Dayna
  25. Thank you Katherine. I hope I'll have a speedy recovery. Dayna
