  1. I have been following your posts and you really need a break. I really hope you get one soon. I hope they can figure out a way to have your treatments done at home. 5 days in the hospital sound very boring. All our posts will keep you busy!! hang in there sweetie Dayna
  2. For all of you who tried Beta Blockers did it make you feel like your condition was getting worse? I'm on BB (metoprolol) for migrianes and it seems to be helping with that but I feel so down (emotionally) for no reason and VERY VERY lazy. Not tired but I feel like everything is too much for me to handle. Even the simple things which wasn't a problem before BB. Basically my stamina is very low. I know BB can cause depression but it's helping so much with my migraines i don't want to stop but at the same time I can't live like a zombie either. Do some cause depression/exhaustion and some don't? I'm only on 25mg and she wanted me on 50 which would probally kill me. Would someone have the same effects if they try Toprol since it's the same? I figured maybe the extended release would help me somehow. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated dayna
  3. Thanks for the response dizzy I tried mestinon alone. I got to 120mg with no benifit or side effects. I'm just frustrated and would like to find something that seems to make a real positive effect. I think my next trial will be with modidrine. Good luck and I hope you continue to improve upon upping each dose Dayna
  4. I'm glad to hear your getting good results. Did you ever take mestinon alone? I have and it did nothing so I was wondering if the combo is helping. Dayna
  5. I got your post late but just wanted at add "hang in there". We all know what the waiting game feels like so we can sympathize with you. dayna
  6. Has anyone with POTS had lasik surgery to correct their vision? Dayna
  7. I also have Gastroparesis caused by autonomic neuropathy. My only symptom is nausea the debilitating type. My first GES was 220min with average being 80min. My second one I never got numbers they just said my tum digests significantly slow.
  8. I have been SUPER ****** for about 2 weeks and I started Beta Blockers 3 wks ago. I am always mild mannered a nd the quiet type but boy have I just been ragging on everyone lately. I feel so bad but I can't calm down. I never thought it would be the meds. They are really helping my migraines alot and that's why they were prescribed I don't know what to do stop or put up with my new personality Hang in there and hopefully your doc will find something that works. Sorry about your vacation Dayna
  9. Congrats! How exciting. Make sure you keep us updated I know alot of people are interested in POTS and Pregnancy. How old is you other child? Dayna
  10. Lately when I'm trying to fall asleep or just lying down I feel like it's hard to breathe. Because it's hard to catch my breathe it feels like my heart stops and starts quickly. It's very scary feeling. My chest also feels heavy during these episodes. I know my heart is fine so I'm not to worried but was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this? I don't wake up gasping for air so I don't think it's sleep apnea or anything like that. Since it's a new symptom do you think it could be my betablocker my vitals were 106/62 hr 62 while lying down with these episodes. Any suggestions? Dayna
  11. May I ask what dose your taking Dayna
  12. Before this illness I was a daily contact wearer. Now I can't tolerate them for 4hrs. Like you I get an instant headache and my vision blurrs. It really ***** because I don't like how I look in my glasses. Oh well Let me know if you find something that works for you..........I'd be interested Dayna
  13. The last 2 days I've been having a really strange feeling somewhat scary because I never felt this before, anyways I have a crampy feeling in my head and the same exact feeling in my stomach. I really feel like the blood is not flowing to those parts of my body. My neck hurts because my head feels so heavy (not a migraine feeling) and I also feel alittle lightheaded. It is a really strange sensation and I don't like it. There's no point in calling my doctor because she will not help me over the phone and probally not know what to do in person either. Anyone ever experience this? Dayna
  14. I'm sorry to hear about all the problems.............hopefully it's just a virus and it will pass. I understand your frustration!! Hang in there Dayna
  15. I just started on Metoprolol 3 wks ago and I know it's not the same drug but I think it has the same ingredients. Anyways at first it made me wired and anxious about 4 days into it I started feeling tired. Now three weeks later and I'm still tired. So maybe you'll adjust after a few days on this med Good Luck Dayna
  16. Words can't even begin to explain what a ***** this lady is. I am so so sorry that you had to experience this. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be feeling and you have every right to be!!! I don't even know what to say except doctors are soooooooooooooo FRUSTRATING!!!!! Do you have a punching bag? Dayna
  17. Congrats.........How exciting!!!!!!!!! Dayna
  18. Well I assume I will be denied the first time around so I'll definitely look for a lawyer for my appeal. I haven't worked in 8yrs. so I assume that will be a negative thing against me. Dayna
  19. I had a phone interview today and he said it will take 3-5 months for it to be evaluated! I really should have done this a long time ago go but I was hoping I wouldn't need to go down that path. Anyone who is considering it you should definitely start now. If you get better you can always deny it. Dayna
  20. I am currently on wellbutrin. It has helped somewhat with my anxiety and with the sad feelings I had as a result of this illness but as far as helping my autonomic system I don't notice any positives there. As everyone mentioned everybody is different so maybe it will help you. At first it made my anxiety worse but after about two weeks it got better. I had horrible side effects from SSRI's but none from wellbutrin which is a plus for me. I don't think I'll stay on it much longer since it's not helping all that much but I hope you get some relief from it. Happy Birthday to your little boy!!! Wow that year went fast Dayna
  21. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question but I have also just started BB Metoprolol and I had to cut my dose to 1x a day because I just couldn't handle to 2x a day. Maybe once your body adjusts you'll feel less loopy. At least you have an appointment on Tues.......Good luck Dayna
  22. Thanks for posting with an update. I hope the best for you and your husband. I can think you are two very strong people. Dayna
  23. I get real discouraged trying all these meds and having my body unable to tolerate them. I know certian meds can make quality of life better which was exactly what I was hoping for but what if you can't tolerate meds can your physical quality of life still improve with time? Has anyone improved without meds? I just don't know what to do how long do I put my body through trail and error with these meds? I've tried in the last 2 yrs 5 abortive migraine meds 3 preventitives 2 birth control pills 5 nausea meds 3 motility drugs mestinon 4 SSRI 1 anti depressant flornief 3 PPI's 2 anti anxiety meds and I'm sure there is more I forgot. From all that I'm on .1mg of flornief (don't know if it helps), wellbutrin, metoporolol (trial) and some as needed nausea and migriane meds. I'm sure your all going through these meds trials so I bet you can relate to my frustration. I guess I'm just angry and I'm coming on my 2 yrs "sick" anniversary so I'm feeling pretty down that I haven't seen too much improvement. When this first started I thought this would be a past memoryby now. Thanks for listening Dayna
