  1. could i use this for tachycardia?
  2. does getting a copy of your files cost money?
  3. I am in the beginning stages of filing for SSI. I just completed the adult disability report online. It says to send it some additional paperwork and any medical records. I have very few medical records, but I did list every doctor, my diagnosis, and there phone number. Can't they just call the doctors I have listed and have them send my medical records?
  4. i owe for student loans, federal and private, i can't afford to pay them if i am approved for ssi. can they garnish ssi? or do they erase the debt?
  5. thinking about applying for ssi. i own nothing but 2 cars... the blazer is worth about $4000 and the sunfire is worth about $6,500. I have about $375 in the bank. Would this disqualify me? I have a friend who owns a jeep, and this did not count against her. i am thinking of giving the blazer to my daughter. also my daughter will be 18 in april, but will still be in high school the rest of this year and next year. would i receive extra income for having a child? and also, how does back pay work. from the time i applied or when i became disabled? I was dx in 2005, although I was disable before then. I did work some in 2010 and 2011, making approximately $6000 for 2010 and maybe $5000 for 2005. I want to work, but it's difficult when you have bad days. some days i feel good, some days i don't. it's unpredictable. I haven't worked for a year. I just talked to a guy from ssi, he said the 2 cars won't count against me. he says about they look at the money in the bank. you have to have less then $2000. I forgot to ask him how the back pay works though, and if you have children
  6. has anyone had minimally invasive surgery for a herniated disc? Just curios of your experience?
  7. has anyone ever had non traumatic discectomy surgery or intradiscal microtherapy with discogel for disc herniation?
  8. Sue, i ve been telling my family dr. for about 10 years about the low back pain. i did physical therapy and chiropractor care twice, with no success. The pain gradually became worse. I asked my Dr. if she could do an MRI twice. She said it wouldn't show anything, and that if I had a herniated disc that I would have pain going down my leg. Well the pain finally got so bad I was in severe pain to the point I couldn't walk without crutches, and even with crutches it hurt to walk. I went to the ER, and he gave me percocet, flexeril, and an injection. The meds did not even touch the pain. So, I call my rheumatologist and make an appointment and he orders an MRI. I had the MRI done Monday, and they called me today with the results. So the answer is no, my family Dr. did not suspect a herniation even though I have been complaining of low back pain for 10 years. I have an appointment with my family Dr. Monday. Would it be appropriate for me to tell her about having an MRI, and the herniation. I would like to ask her why she didn't help me. She just kept saying exercise, excersie, exercise. I did just that. I have this home gym hat has weights. Not knowing i had a herniated disc I was lifting weights, and making the pain worse. But I was just doing what she said. Or did she not believe I was in pain? In 2005 when I became sick with dysautonomia, a different Dr. in the same building referred me to the FCHC where they hooked me to a holter monitor. This Dr. said if the reading came back normal that he would refer me to a psychologist. I was confused when he said that. I thought how the **** is a psychologist going to help me with tachycardia, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, facial flushing, light headedness, etc. Well, the reading came back abnormal, and he sends me to a cardiologist where he diagnoses me with dysautonomia. When I went back to this Dr. I asked him why he was going to send me to a psychologist for being sick. He apologized to me. I just wonder, what happenes if I get sick again. I can't go to the Dr. because they don't help me. I wish I was an ER Dr. so if one day my dr. comes in and says "help me, I think I am having a heart attack". I will say, I will send you to a psychologist.
  9. i did read about something called discogel vs. open back surgery. has anyone had their herniated disc with local anesthesia?
  10. this medical student called me from the rheumatologists office to tell me the results of my mri. she says i have a herniated disc and wanted to know if i had a neurosurgen. what does that mean? i need surgery? i thought i would be sent somewhere where they would go over options with me? i tried to ask her questions, but she just said she is a medical student and did not know. i asked if I could talk to someone who knew the naswer, but she said they were busy. so, i am confused where to go from here.
  11. it helps my pots symptoms. before taking this med i felt like i was going to pass out 24/7. after taking lexapro, that has gona away.
  12. i too get tachycardia during sleep, if i get up and walk around a minute it goes away. i notice though, if i take benadryl before going to bed, this helps. i also take a beta blocker. i think maybe... my blood pressure drops during sleep, and this is the reason for tachycardia.
  13. finally, a dr. ordered an mri. it's monday at 12:45 pm. hope i can lay on my back for an hour.
  14. my rheumatologist tested for autoimmune stuff. do u want me to find the tests he did?
  15. i ve posted about back pain a few times. i hope i m not repeating myself. like i ve said on previous posts i have had low back pain for 10 years. actually i have pain all over, with the lower back being the worst. it started when i was working in a nursing home, then i quit work to go to school and became inactive... did more sitting then i am use to. i also remember helping my dad lift up a picnic table and felt something snap in my lower back, not sure what that was but couldnt walk without pain for about a week or two after that had happened. well, i have been to physical therapy and chiropractors... they help some, but does not take away the pain. well, the pain was so bad in dec. i went to the ER, he gave me percocet 5/325, flexeril and a toradol injection, and that didnt even touch the pain. the x ray revealed a little arthritis. i went to my family dr. and asked if she could do an mri, she said it wouldnt show anything, that if i had a herniated disc i would have pain going down my leg. she said to keep exercising. i do. but it makes the pain worse. now i am back to not being able to walk again. i borrowed my moms crutches, and its even painful to use them. it takes me a while just to get to the bathroom. then i can't even reach my butt. so i go see my rheumatologist, he can't figure out why my dr. never ordered an mri, and we wrote me out an order for one. right now i am just waiting for the prior auth. i also went and had gottten another injection. i told them that toradol didnt work the last time, so i can't figure out why they would give me the same thing again. do they not have other injections that work for pain? and is there something else beside percocet 5/325 and flexeril that works for pain. even if it doesnt take away the pain completely, but something that takes the edge off. i can't sleep at night cause i hurt so bad. i think i have to have a herniated disc. what else can happen to your back that can cause that great amount a pain that would not require surgery. atleast i am hoping to god whatever is wrong does not require surgery as i am scared to death to be put to sleep.
  16. my uncle and i were just talking about this last night. he said this happened to him.
  17. i was looking through my blood tests from the past and seen my eosinophils were low (type of white blood cell). i know a high white blood count can be from allergies. could claritin be the cause of low eosinphils?
  18. does anyone else get burning sensations in there feet and legs? what is this. anytime i ask a dr. they never really say. or try to find out.
  19. would a cat scan show if i had a herniated disk? i would prefer a cat scan to mri because i m clastophic. going to make an appointment with my neurologist... she seems to be the only one to take me serious. my low back pain started at 26, i am now 37. i wouldnt think you woud have pain that long and have nothing wrong.
  20. i have been having low back pain for about 10 years. i can feel it everyday, but usually tolerable. every 2 or 3 months the pain gets so severe i can't walk, and no meds they give me touch the pain. i have been through physical therapy twice and chiropractor with no success. i went to the dr. yesterday, and asked if they could do an mri. she said it wouldnt show anything and that it didnt sound like a herniated disc. she said if i had a herniated disc i would have pain shooting down my leg. well, i can't stand the pain in my lower back, i am already naseous as it is and the pain makes it worse. if she doesnt think its a herniated disc, then what the **** is it? not sure why i even go to the dr.s when they dont help me.
  21. i feel funny all the time. not sure how to explain it. it feels like there is something wrong with my brain. i hate feeling this way.
