  1. Every morning when I wake up my ears leak or something. They feel funny and then clear liquid starts to come out, usually runs out of both (sorry to be gross). It happens no matter when I have last showered so I don't think its water. I don't know what it is. Any ideas?
  2. I have really bad aniety with my POTS. I get nervous all the time which makes my POTS terrible. I am probably going to go on some sort of medication, but I don't want to. I know that antianxiety/ depression medications can have bad side effects and I don't react well to many medications. Also, I don't want to become numb with no emotion. I have tried three different therapists which did not help significantly. Is there any thing else I can do, or does anyone have a medication that worked well for them?
  3. I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I was recently diagnosed also. I have also found that sudden movements/ moving my head makes me more dizzy. I hope you start feeling better soon!
  4. Wow, that's really cool because I normally find that having a cold makes my POTS worse.
  5. What exactly are we supposed to eat? I don't eat greasy or over seasoned foods. But practically everything makes me feel sick to my stomach. All I ate was a roll and a banana yesterday for Christmas dinner and I felt sick. I feel better if I don't eat though.
  6. I was wondering what hyperpots actually is? How is different from "regular" POTS?
  7. I am supposed to drink three liters a day. I have been trying to increase my intake of liquids but I am nowhere near 3 liters. I am never thirsty so I forget to drink during the day and drinking a huge glass of water makes me bloated and nauseaous. Also, if I actually drank this much I would not be able to go anywhere with out having to use the bathroom every fifteen minutes. Does anybody actually drink this much, if so how?
  8. I am also on midodrine and I have noticed the same thing. My mom said I used to be so happy go lucky and ever since I got POTS I'm angry all the time.
  9. Yes!!! At least two or three nights a month I am fine during the day and up all night feeling terrible. It's exactly as you described. I get horribly nauseous and then the chills, dizzy, I get purple legs. What I think happens is I start to get stressed because I can't sleep, especially if I have to do something the next day and stress really makes me worse.
  10. When I get a flare up I get really dark circles. Its not really before it happens though its during.
  11. When Postural Orthastatic Tachacardia Syndrome glides easily off your tounge.
  12. My tongue is yellow. Does this have to do with POTS? I don't have bad dental hygiene and I brush my tongue and everything but it stays yellow. I guess it could be a side effect from one of my medicines... Does anybody know?
  13. I'm in Fairfax, Va. I'm not sure how far away that is...
  14. I have high blood pressure swings which I was just put on medicine for. I started to feel tierd and funny each time I took it so I checked my heart rate and it was pretty low. It was 52 when normally it's in the 90's. I was wondering if this could be dangerous or is it a normal side effect?
  15. When I get really nauseous in the car there are two things that seem to help. One is sitting up front (less bumpy) and the other is chewing peppermint or Ginger gum to help settle my stomach.
  16. This happens to me all the time. Do you have GERD? I have GERD and a stomach ulcer which are made worse by being anxious. GERD can cause nausea and burping too.
  17. I get much worse when facing any kind of stress also. My heart rate will go super high when get nervous about anything. I guess you could call this brain fog but when ever I get upset about something I get all confused and my symptoms act up more too.
  18. Oh my gosh, my social worker and counselor said those exact words too- about how it was my responsibilty. When I met with her the other day I got a lot of good information too but I felt like she was "guilt triping" me. She said I should have been working harder while we were trying to get me a diagnosis. I'm sorry she made you cry . I felt like crying when my meeting was over. Unfortunately, I have to work with this lady because she is the homebound schooling coordinator.
  19. I have been feeling like I can't catch my breath on and off for the past three days. I dont cough or anything so maybe it's not the same thing...
  20. The school social worker actually just came to my house today to tell me about homebound schooling. While we were trying to get a diagnosis of what is wrong with me I missed the first half of the school year. I'm still not exactly sure what I'm going to do either- there are many options. I will probably do homebound in some of my classes until I feel well enough to go back. I will do online classes for the rest of the classes for now. I also have to withdraw from two classes because I missed too much and make them up over the summer . I know how hard and stressful it is. I miss my friends and all my plans for an advanced diploma are out the window. I hope everything goes well for you.
  21. I always got nausea after coming out of it. I asked what they could do for the nausea and they gave me meds through my IV before the procedure. It made me feel a lot less sick!
  22. Yes. It helps to a certain degree, and makes my symptoms not as bad that day. But it does fade. I was so surprised at the "needles" when I saw them the first time. They are as thin as hairs and I couldn't really feel them being put in.
  23. Thanks so much! Tomorrow someone from my school is coming to fill out the forms to do some homebound schooling. Hopefully this will make things a little easier!
  24. General anesthesia is tons better. I had both too and was still too much awake with my endoscopy and I could hear everything for a while. I had general anesthesia the second time and I woke up and fell asleep just like any normal person would. Try not to worry, you'll be o.k.
