  1. I had the same thing and got an endoscopy which came up normal. A year later I was still having the pain nausea etc. and I asked for second endoscopy and GI doc reluctantly did a second one- this time a stomach ulcer! If your endoscopies/ colonoscpies are not recent, you could ask for a second?
  2. I get that too!!!! It has never been so bad I couldn't eat for days though- it only happens once in a while. I think trouble swallowing was on the list of symptoms for GERD, so could it be that? I feel so bad for you- I get several days in a row every month or so with such extreme nausea I cant drink or sleep or eat so I know how you feel. My mom has taken me to the ER twice during these times and they really don't do anything but load me up with zofran. I really hope your doctor appointment goes well and you feel better!
  3. Sorry, I don't have an answer for you- I just wanted to say I could definitely relate with the school thing! I'm in 10th and I'm in full homebound. I hope this site helps you to find some answers!
  4. Funny you say that about the trampoline because we have an exercise one and I told my cardiologist that's what I would do for exercise. They actually said it would make my symptoms worse and I shouldn't do that for exercise.
  5. Hmmm I actually eat a lot of carbs and it doesn't bother me at all. Weird. Somedays when I'm super nauseous etc. I will just eat dry white bread. Foods that do bother me- anything with any kind of grease, chocolate ( ), cheese, hamburger meat, and big meals.
  6. That would be so awesome. And help so many people. I should get one too!
  7. Did he do "his version" of a TTT? I'm going to get that done Thursday. If you did how was it different from a normal one? I know, he is the most compassionate doctor I have ever been to.
  8. When someone has a heart attack what actually happens? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I really don't know. Could blood pressure spikes like the ones we have been talking about really cause a heart attack?
  9. Maybe you should ask. I have similar symptoms and my GI doctor suggested that I be tested for it but I haven't been yet. The small meals thing is a good idea. He told me that is actually part of the treatment for it but there are medications that can help too.
  10. I'm pretty sure feeling full to quickly is a sign of gastroparesis. Have you been tested for it?
  11. Yes. Every day before/ during school I would get stressed and extremely light headed and nauseous panic attack feeling etc. I checked my blood pressure during a few of these episodes and it was normally in the 130s- 150s over 90s.
  12. That's great! It's awesome you found something that really helps you!
  13. Do you think walking would be beneficial to start with? I really don't think I could jog. When I walk I feel like I'm jogging with the heavy breathing and heart racing.
  14. I went to a therapist before I was diagnosed with POTS and during one visit my whole family came. It did not go well because we did not know that I have POTS. The consensus was that since I couldn't get out of bed I would have to sleep on a blow up mattress in the living room... Anyways now I'm looking for a therapist who understands POTS. Thank you for all the ideas and for encouraging me! I am waiting for a treatment plan from my cardiologist which will include an exercise regimen, so hopefully that will help too! Thanks again!
  15. Thanks that sounds like good techniques- I will definitely use them!
  16. I love my siblings and my parents and even though they all try they don't understand this syndrome very much at all. I try to explain it to them and of course my parents researched the heck out of it and took me to zillions of doctors etc. but they don't understand living with it. I get in to arguments with my mom all the time because she wants me to push myself to do things. Basically all I accomplish on a day to day basis is getting dressed and some home work so I know what she is saying. I try to do things with my family when I feel up to it but that's barely ever. My siblings get upset when I don't have to do my chores because I'm to nauseous to do them. When ever I try to discuss what it's like with them it ends up in an argument also. I know I complain a lot and that really annoys them but I'm trying to work on that. I guess some of it could be that they miss the old me just like I do. Does any one have any ideas on how I could explain this to them with out it resulting in fighting?
  17. I don't know why I always worry about my symptoms but I do. I will start to feel bad and then start worrying like what if this isn't POTS.. This is a new symptom... Why does my chest hurt etc. Add that to nausea and I can not sleep. A couple weeks ago I was on a pattern where I sleep a night up all night the next night and now it's like that again. Does any body take sleeping meds? I'm just worried what those would do to me because I don't do well with most meds...
  18. I own it and have read most of it. It's very informative and very long. There's any thing you can think of about possible treatments and other things relating to POTS. The only thing is the first edition was not edited so there are a lot of mistakes but that's not a big deal to me.
  19. Yay! I'm so happy he helped you too! The wait is always unbelievably long but worth it in the end.
  20. On really really bad POTS days (like today ) I get the terrible feverish and general lousy feeling llike you get with the flu. I normally don't actually have a fever though. I guess it could be from lack of sleep too. Does every body get this? Know any thing that helps?
  21. I can take phenergan and zofran for nausea. My gastro prescribed me both- neither help. I thought the phenergan was helping but now I'm back to bring up all night several nights in a row with extreme never ending nausea. I have tried tea and herbal stuff for nausea too- does not help. I just don't understand why phenergan ,a strong antiemetic, does not stop my nausea. I have had endoscopies I had a stomach ulcer which is healed now. If any one has any suggestions I would appreciate it!
  22. . Are you kidding? A 10 minute mile is great!!!!! You should be proud!
  23. It didn't make me worse and I didn't have any side effects. Unfortunately it didn't make me any better either.
  24. This is exactly what happens to me. I have lost about 10 pounds so far but I was actually overweight anyways so it's not a bad thing for me. When I feel bad I will eat nothing or crackers for 3 + days. Then when I feel good again I eat a bunch of food too! I'm on Phenergan for nausea which is not helping very much. I'm going to be tested for bacteria in my stomach and gastroparesis. Have you been tested for either of those?
