  1. Hi everyone, Everything is always so gloomy so thought I would share a little good news with you. My daughter Kelly works at PetSmart and is the youngest cashier there. She is 18, going to college full time and working part. Her boss asked her to stay after work tonight he wanted to talk to her. She figured she was going to get fired, alot of places just don't want to keep college kids because they have to work inbetween their classes and it changes every semester. so theres a lot of scheduling conflicts. He told her, he was very impressed with her work attitude, the way she was with the customers, her attendance, etc. Lots of compliments. On top of that a secret shopper had come into the store, and was playing a highly strung out customer, being very picky about what was in the cat food she needed to buy for her cat!!! Kelly just happened to be the one working with this lady and scored a 30 out of 30 points!!! She gets a bonus for that but then her boss says He wants to make her his "head cashier"!!!!!!!!!! She is so excited and of course we are very proud. Her only concern of course is the other workers. Especially with the fact that she doesn't work full time and she feels there are probley other people who would feel they deserve this promotion more then she does. But regardless of what she decides to do we are excited for her. Feels good when someone notices the hard work you do. Amen to something happy in this house!!! ((Hugs)) Sue
  2. Going on three weeks now I have been suffering from a major headache..... Its definately worse early morning, tapering off mid afternoon. I have been taking Motrin 800 every two, three hours but starting to have no relief imbetween. Does anyone else suffer from bad headaches??? Is it NCS related?? I'm so tired of this Always something..........
  3. Hi everyone!! Great news!! Quynns bloodcount has gone back to normal!!! She will have to have her blood drawn once a week for 6 months to keep an eye on this. She also has to wear a helmet when leaving the house, as they want to limit any injury to the head at this time. She is still having some small bleeders but we were told they are definately tapering off. but.... if any of you have children who have to have their blood drawn or shots, anything of that nature. We bought Quynn a pinwheel and had her blow the pinwheel til the nurse was finished drawing her blood!! Quynn is pretty young for all this and blowing on the pinwheel worked great and kept her mind busy without worrying about what the nurse was doing. We tried to keep her busy the first couple of times and nothing worked. As a matter of fact the nurse was going to buy pinwheels for the hospital and introduce this at their next meeting.. Hey whatever makes things easier for the kids and the nurses.... I may buy myself one for my next visit lol Take care and thanks much for all the prayers and good wishes ((Hugs)) Sue
  4. thank you so much!! this morning her platelets are up to 20,000, they want to get her up to 100,000 before letting her go home. She is getting a lot of attention. The pediatric wing at this hospital is awesome!! The kids all have private rooms, equipped with everything you could think of.. Including bed for mom or dad. Stocked refrigerated with juices and jello. VCR with a library down the hall with movies for the kids. They even dress up the iv pole, her iv is named Charlie!!! complete with mustache!! Thank you so much again for your thoughts and prayers, they are so appreciated.... ((Hugs)) Sue
  5. We have spent the last twenty four hours at the hospital with my neice, Quynn. She was diagnosed with I.T.P, a disease which affects the blood. Usually when you are sick, the virus attaches itself to the platelets and the platelet kills off the virus. In her case her antibodies are attaching themselves to her platelets and killing them. A normal count is 200,000 and hers is at 2500 right now. They transferred her last night by ambulance to a different hospital where she can be treated by specialists. They are now infusing her with healthy platelets hoping her body will accept them and multiply. She is so small and we are scared. Please send up your prayers and good thoughts, we really need them right now. She is such a sweet child, after the doctor came in and talked to us, Quynn asked him what his name was besides doctor. He said his name, and she looked at him with those innocent eyes and said I love you so much for being my friend right now. The doctor sat on the bed and told her she was the best friend he ever met at the hospital and he would make sure she would get special care. she just looked at him and said thank you, but the sandwich they gave her before was really yucky!!! Sweetness.... Thank you so much ((Hugs)) Sue
  6. Hi everyone!! I'm Sue, I live in Macomb, Michigan. Half hour from the hyped-up superbowl!!!! Its been crazy this week!! I suffer from NCS, symptoms include alot of unsteadiness, light headed, fast and slow heart rate, blood pressure fluctuating always. I have a wonderful family who keep me going. Husband, two teenagers, Kelly 18, Stephen 17. We also live with my parents, my dad is paralyzed from a stroke, and my mother has severe athritus. We sold both family homes about 8 months ago and bought a larger home together. We all help each other. and there is always someone home. My favorite companions are my two dogs, Buddy my yellow lab and Bandit my cocker spaniel. Talk about unconditional LOVE!!! Even on those really bad days, they just cuddle up with me and keep me company. I love photography!!! I have always wanted to go professional, but I don't see that happening. On good days I love to just go out side with my dogs and take pictures of everything. Especially the neighborhood kids. Other than that I just love being with my family and feeling safe. I love chatting, so feel free to email me anytime!! ((Hugs to all)) Sue
  7. I can totally relate to you, too bad you don't live next door. Very seldom am I out of my pajamas. I figure I'm not going anywhere why bother!!! ((Hugs)) Sue
  8. Last night we had company at our house and when I came into the frontroom someone was sitting in my "usual" spot. So without being rude I just sat down on the opposite side of the room making myself sit the opposite way of how I usually sit. Within seconds I started to have major symptoms, unbalanced, heart racing, etc. I immediately got up and sat on the other side of the room on the floor. Symptoms totally settled down. This morning I decided to do that again. Same thing happened!!! Does this happen to any of you??? I also tried the same thing in my bed. I usually sleep on my left side the same side I sit on... My husband had already left for work. So I scooted to his side of the bed and stood up)the opposite way of how I usually get out of bed) Immediate symptoms, is this majorly weird or what. What would cause such a tramatic change??? Thanks for any input ((Hugs)) Sue
  9. Hi Linda I've been on Celexa for quite a long time now. I am now on 60mg!! Started off at 20 mg and had to work my way up to this dosage to keep my episodes calmed down. But it seems to be working, at least for now. Good luck!! and working your way up is the best way. Just make sure to keep hydrated and salty. Hugs Sue

I appreciate everything the moderators have done and hope they will continue so we can continue to come here for support. I have gotten good medical advice as well as a laugh or smile when I have needed it most. I say whatever works for the moderators works for me. I am just happy to be a part of this forum!! Thanks Sue

  20. Thanksgiving is such a time to self-reflect. I have to say I'm most thankful for those small moments I feel almost normal. My husband and children are wonderful and take such good care of me. I love my pets who never leave my side and of course this site. I may not always post but I am here alot, my heart goes out to everyone here. It helps to know I'm not alone with this, and there are people who know exactly how I feel. Have a wonderful thanksgiving and find yourself surrounded by the love in your family.. ((Hugs)) Sue
