  1. Have you checked your blood pressure while having the chest pain? Have you had your electrolytes checked? Hope you can feel better soon, Love, Tessa
  2. Hi If you have such a bad reaction to fasting for a blood test & after the blood test, I would rather recommend you talking about it with your doctor. You might have to get IV saline solution & glucose before, after and/or during the blood test... Take care, Love Tessa P.S.: Get the test done for problems with sugar... Though you might have hypoglicemic issues even not being a diabetic....
  3. Hi Rachel I?ve had this some time ago until the blurry vision stayed... Now I am wearing glasses to read... I would rather recommend going to a specialist to check your eyes. Stressing the eyes without helping them could make it worse, whatever the reason is. By the way, are you diabetic? Have you checked your adrenals? Take care, Love Tessa
  4. Sorry you were in the hospital, but at least you are sure that there is nothing serious with your heart. Thank you for your the information given for the chest pain/Discomfort, Flop. Highly interesting. I would say that your doctor is right... Hope that you can feel better soon, MKoven and that you can find the answers to your worries. Take care, Tessa
  5. Hi Angela. Sorry that you caught a cold, but looking forward to you seeing Dr. Grubb. I do not know him but I have read a lot about him on this forum and others seem very happy to count on him as their doctor. I am sure that he has a long experience on POTS. Remember to take note of everything you want to ask him and copies of whatever you think could be interesting and important. Tell him about your worries too. And keep up the faith. Good luck and my best wishes. Take care, Love Tessa
  6. I agree, my hr increases different from time to time, too Take care, Tessa
  7. Hi Danielle Sorry about that, but glad that you finally have a dx It is so hard when you feel sick and you have no idea what?s going on... Take care and keep around. You will find many friends here to share your feelings, experiences, doubts, ... Welcome! Love, Tessa
  8. I am very sorry that you had to go through such an experience but hope that you can get the answers to that event soon. I am looking forward to the results, too. Take care, Love Tessa
  9. Could it be possible that you are hypersensitive to some drugs? This can happen with POTS... Tessa
  10. I agree with the suggestions of the others. It can cause important changes on some electrolytes. I would better talk with the doctor about it. It can be a good idea to try, but with your doctor?s approval and checking-ups. Take care, Tessa
  11. Welcome on board! Yes, it sounds familiar to me... Very familiar. Try to avoid being too nervous for the TTT test... (I know, it is difficult). But you will see that it is not complex and easy to follow. Take care and keep us updated on your TTT test Love, Tessa
  12. Hi mvdula According to what I have been told by others who suffer similar health issues, you can have your cortisol levels within "normal" range, but being somewhat low, it can still cause adrenal fatigue or Hypoadrenia Furthermore, it is very important that it has been carried out in the most appropriated way (not all know how... I had to go through 2 tests)... Have look to the following information: ACTH Stimulation Test Aldosterone has to be tested together with Renin. Explaining the test: Aldosterone-renin test It is possible to have Hypoaldosteronismo or Hyperaldosteronism. Videos of interest: Hope to be of any help, Love, Tessa
  13. Do you mind if I add another option that you should rule out? Adrenal fatigue or adrenal insufficiency. What about your cortisol and aldosterone? Have they checked your levels? Hope to have given a useful idea and that you can find the answer soon. Take care, Love, Tessa
  14. Prize for an excellent answer, Ernie! You can more or less understand the ignorance of these people...(although some of them cannot be accepted)... But what about nurses? On my last app. at the Endo when I was waiting for him, the nurse looked at me and said... "But you look very fine to me." She was staring at me as if I was going to waste the doctor?s time... "That?s because you cannot see me inside out", I answered, trying to get over my brain fog... But I really felt hopeless... I have no disabled sticker. It has been a very long time since I?ve used the car driving myself... But I can imagine your situation, Ernie... I would have made a written complaint against such a comment. Flop, you could not have made a better answer! Love, Tessa
  15. Just wanted to tell you not to worry too much. My blood pressure is about yours everyday and sometimes it gets down to 86-55. And my heart rate gets to 100 very easily... But of course, not being alone with your symptoms does not mean you can ignore them. I would look into the matter and identify the cause. As you can see on my signature... Just now I am investigating my adrenals (hormones: cortisol and aldosterone) for having a low bp and a high hr. Aldosterone has to balance our blood pressure and heart rate and when this hormone is not produced or not enough, some of the symptoms are low blood pressure, high heart rate, dizziness... POTS... One of my problems seem to be that I have hypoaldosteronism and the doctor continues with tests... Take care, Tessa
  16. I am so sorry, Ling. I wish I had the clue. I can only think based on my own experience. Not exactly the same as yours. Some symptoms are similar, but not all. This could therefore not be related to your health issues, but maybe it is worth trying to rule this option out. Why don?t you ask them to check your adrenal hormones? (Cortisol, aldosterone, renin and a stim test?) Pots can be caused by problems with adrenals... (That seems to be mine)... Hope you can feel better soon... Love, Tessa
  17. I do not think that a betablocker can cause POTS but as mentioned on other?s answers, many POTS patients cannot tolerate betas... Furthermore, as an adrenal problem can be related to POTS, those with an adrenal issue should avoid betablockers (it lowers BP and aldosterone levels too). If you do not want to use it, better talk with your doctor about it in order to find another option. Tessa
  18. Hi Maxine. I just read about your little Mackenzie. How is she going on now? So sorry about it. I hope she is better as well as the rest of the family. take care, Love Tessa
  19. Hi Chrissy I know what you are going through because I had similar pain and ended at the ER too, thinking it was a heart attack... I had no idea of POTS at that time so it was really scary... I have been having discomfort and chest pain for long together with the shortness of breath (though the shortness of breath not so severe as you mentioned). Now I am being tested for adrenal insuffiency, which could be the clue. I am already on a minimun treatment for it and it works for me. I have no chest pain any more. The shortness of breath has gone too. Sometimes I feel unwell, with a light discomfort. I still cannot carry out many activities, but the minimum things I did before (having plenty of symptoms) can be done now without feeling dizzy, lightheaded, with chest discomfort/pain and shortness of breath... Which is a relief... But my treatment is a temporary one waiting for the final test results... I am not an expert, but have you checked your adrenals? what about your blood pressure and heart rate? Do you know if you can have Adrenal Fatigue or a low aldosterone and/or cortisol level? They can cause plenty of symptoms + POTS too. I hope to have been of any help with my personal experience. Take care, Love,
  20. Amy, thank you for your update. You have all my support and prayers. You are in my thoughts. Take care, Love, Tessa
  21. oh, I am so sorry that you had such a hard time with that "idiot" of a doc. No wonder that you are feeling frustrated... I fully understand... But never stop looking for a good specialist. I am sure there must be someone out there willing to help. The thing is that it is not always easy to find the most appropriated one. But you will find him or her... And when you remember this idiot doc, you will laugh... You have my support too and best wishes to find a good neuro as soon as possible and close to your home Take care, Love, Tessa
  22. I am unable to exercise. Tried several times just to walk but came back exhausted with a severe tachycardia lying down, with nauseas, dizziness, etc... I tried the Stress test some time ago, but was unable to walk on the treadmill... I started getting symptoms, presyncope, etc. but the Cardiologist wrote down that I was unable to exercise (I think it is said Intolerant to exercise or something similar). Tessa
  23. Hi Angelika_23 You can understand me best as you have been such a hard dancer... I am so sorry for you not to be able to dance anymore. It is sad and a torture because as you very likely feel too, when we listen to the music, our body wants to move with it... But we cannot... I am glad that you can still dance Persephone. Enjoy it for all of us! Yes, ictus, Life is hard... Thanks for posting. Tessa
