  1. Hi, Chrissy I wonder why your doctor told you to overdose on sodium and potassium. Sodium and potassium are very important and should be kept in balance checking the levels by means of a blood test. Do you tend to have low sodium? Low potassium? Do you know why? Are you craving for salt? Did you, before taking Nadolol? Do you have a high or a low blood pressure? Commercially available electrolyte replacement drinks such as Gatorade are designed for people who have normal adrenal and excessive loss of potassium during exercise. These drinks are designed to be high in potassium and low in sodium. They can be taken in as fluid replacement if adrenal fatigue is very mild. Have you checked your blood pressure when your heart rate increases? Hope you are feeling better. Love, Tessa
  2. Oh, my God! i am glad nothing happened. You had an angel with you... I am sorry to know that you cannot drive anymore, but according to your last fainting episode, I think that you had a very special warning for not driving... take care, Love Tessa
  3. I read somewhere that according to Dr. Grubb there is another kind of POTS that happens gradually over the time of being standing...Bp lowers and heart rate increases... But not within 10 minutes after being tilted... The time can be longer...does not necessarily to be 10 minutes or when tilted. I would surf the net and investigate about all the possible POTS Love, Tessa
  4. Congratulations! I am glad that the first three months are over now. Hope that everythings goes on well... take care Love, Tessa
  5. Hi Ernie Do not be ashamed for telling us, but be proud of having been so brave to share it. I am so sorry that you had to go through such a terrible experience. I wish I could say or do something to help you cope with it, but I am sure that you need help from a support group specialised in rapes and/or a professional, not only our support and your relative?s. Do not be ashamed, Ernie. It is not your fault. You could not do anything to avoid it. He is the bad gay! It is not your fault. Do not feel ashamed for getting help from another person different to your friends or relatives and try to contact a Support group. I hope that you can find one close to where you live. Maybe you have luck and they can tell you where or how you can report it (with more success). I would not change Hospital if you really have good specialists there... I know it is hard and extremely difficult to continue going to that hospital... But you should try to leave these negative reminders aside and think in possitive... Everytime that it reminds you... Think on something possitive... That you are on the way to a better health, that they are going to help... Anything that can help you through it. Please, do not get down or this experience will hurt you even more than it did. And if you feel much better this way, try not going alone to your medical app. and tests. It will make you feel stronger. You have all my support, Ernie. Love, Tessa
  6. Hi Michelle Thank you for the update. I am so sorry for Amy. She has helped a lot on Dinet?s forum supporting and helping others. Thank you for the address... I will love sending her a card... She will be in my prayers and thoughts. Love Tessa
  7. Hi Maxine I am so sorry about all your medical issues and pain. I hope that you can feel better soon. Sending possitive thoughts to you Love, Tessa
  8. Hi Flop Thank you for sharing your own experience. Sounds like I will have to keep a normal ECG. Will ask for an app. with the Cardiologist for a check-up. I told my GP yesterday that I am having about 100 bmp at rest and he admitted that it is too high for being at rest... Even though, he said that doing some tai-chi could be good for my muscle mass and overal health... I am not quite sure that any exercise will make me feel better as I am usually exhausted and sick when for instance having a bath, homework done, cooking, etc... Love, Tessa
  9. I have never been a fan of alcohol. It makes me dizzy, gives me headache and nauseas. I have a very low tolerance. I have always felt very sick after drinking just one glass. I use to have drops in bp and heart rate is high... So, alcohol is a bad idea for me. All my symptoms worsen. I do not recommend it. Love, Tessa
  10. Thank you for your answers, Flop and Cardiactec. Good to know the reason of a low voltage. Could be what you mention, Flop, that the electrodes were placed wrongly... I have no idea if T-wave and ST segments were right, but the doctor said that everything was fine... I probably do not need to worry about the ER ECG. Thanks for your help. Cardiactec: did they do a chest x-ray on you? No, they did not. have you had ecgs in the past demonstrating this? I am afraid I have not kept a previous ECG... I do not know if this has been demonstrated on a past one. flop is right, it is probably nothing to be concerned with, but still goo to follow with a cardiologist I am planning to visit the Cardiologist again, among other things, to ask if I can start some exercise suggested by the Endo (because I?ve lost muscle mass)... Taking into account that my bp is very low and my heart rate uses to be high at rest - about 90 & 100 bmp My heart rate tries to compensate the low bp by beating faster... But of course, I do not think that having your heart rate for hours at 90 or 100 bmp is good for your heart... Love, Tessa
  11. I woke up one night at 4 am (some months ago) because having an acute chest pain. A terrible & scary experience. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. The pain lasted for long and we were thinking to rush to the ER but then it started fading away. Even though, as I still had some discomfort and we were worried, we went to the ER at about 8 am. At the ER I had an ECG done. First, the nurse looked up strangely and called another nurse. They both looked to the ECG, made a comment, (I just could hear something similar to "that?s not possible") scrapped the result and started again. When I was given the ECG result, the doctor said that there was nothing unusual but to come back If the pain started again... Now, months later, I have noticed that there is a note on the ECG. Low voltage in all frontal leads in the limit... all frontal leads <0.6 mV I hope it is the right translation, in Spanish it is stated: "bajo voltaje en derivs frontales en el limite... todas derivs frontales <0.6 mV" Any idea what it means? I wonder if this had a clue and they did not notice. Comments are welcome, Thank you for your help. Love, Tessa
  12. Hi I?ve read some very good suggestions. Get an Endo and carry out the tests needed. It is not compulsory to have skin darkening for having adrenal problems, but if you have, among other issues, it could be Addison... The only way to know is by doing the tests needed. I invite you to visit the following Adrenal Help group. You can get much more information about adrenal issues there [/url= http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Adrenal_Help/] Click here More info: Adrenal info adrenal fatigue adrenal info faq Hope this helps, Love, Tessa
  13. Hi Ami & Mike I am so sorry that he had to go through such a terrible experience and I kwow what I mean, because most part of what you have described was how my ttt went out. Why did they suspected that Mike?s heart was stopping and then staring again? What was his blood pressure when he had the syncope? ANd his heart rate? Do you know? was it sublingual nitroglicerine what they used? Thanks for sharing. Hope that he is feeling much better now... And if it was nitroglicerine what they used, I would rather avoid using it again on him. Love, Tessa
  14. Hi if you want to be sure of the meaning of the results, I really recommend you to share them on this helping board. Most helpful. Ask Chris about it. He has plenty of knowledge about adrenals. Adrenal Help Yahoo Love, Tessa

  17. OOOh! Fight for your rights. Don?t let it down. I would appeal. Who do they think they are to decide who is and who is not due to have such a disabled card? I am so sorry. File a formal complaint. This is completely unfair! Tessa
  18. Hi Sue1234 I recommend you to ask your question to my friends of the the following forum. They know a lot about adrenals: aldosterone, cortisol, thyroid, etc. Post your labs on this forum together with the lab normal values and ask for help. By the way, how did you got the test done? Did you fasted salt 24 h. before the test? Were you on or off treatment? By the way: Women must test these the first 7 days of their cycle since the higher progesterone levels in the 2nd and 3rd week will likely raise their aldosterone artificially high (aldosterone come from progesterone) ... (Tell them on the forum too). Take a look here: Testing aldosterone Hope you can get the answer to your doubts, Take care, Love, Love
  19. If you suspect on adrenals, you should ask your Endo to get the lab tests done. Here are some tips on Adrenals: Recommended Labwork Labs & tips Adrenal Faq Aldosterone important as cortisol Love, Tessa
  20. Hope you are feeling better by now. If not, why not asking the doctor? Maybe you need some extra help to recover sooner. Love, Tessa
  21. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure that you will be able to cope with it. It?s a wonderful news and experience. I cross my fingers and wish you better months to come, without the nausea... Take care and keep us updated, please. Love, Tessa

  23. Hi Carinara It is also not common to be used here in Spain, but doctors know the symbol of a medical emergency, which is what mine has. Mine is similar to this one external image I bought one with the symbol at the Jewelry and they added the text that I gave them. it is useful when you have... Say for instance a life-threatening allergy to drugs, food, etc. Or if you are diabetic, corticodependant... Or to tell them the treatment they should follow if you have an emergency (according to your disease/s)... I have the words "See wallet" in Spanish and English (you could have it in German and English)... And in my wallet, I have a medical card (signed by my doctor) explaining my disease, how I should be treated if I had an emergency, as well as my allergies... Hope this helps, Love, Tessa
  24. I do not have children, but understand that some worries cannot be avoided... Even though, I am sure that you will try your best not to be affected in a way that it can worsen your health. Whenever you become too worried, try to think on a different matter... Love, Tessa
