  1. When do you get it - ie only when you stand up or stand up for too long? When my pulse is up I will have dizziness regardless, but it's worse when I stand up. How long does it last for - ie only while you stand or only for a few seconds, then your body rights itself? I'm dizzy all the time, but being on Toprol has helped and it has improved. How does it feel - ie does the room spin or is it a fuzziness inside your head? It can be both for me. But mostly fuzziness, with blured vision. Do you get worse when in a busy environment - ie a shopping mall If I'm feeling overwhelmed by it yes. When DONT you get it - ie when sitting, or riding in the car, or lying down? It's really unpredictable for me. Does stress or tiredness or certain foods make it worse? Yes, stress and tiredness will play a major factor in how I feel. Foods may have an affect too. Being on the computer make it worse? I don't think so no. When you move around - ie bend over, turn your head? YES! It's very frustrating. Hope I was of some help. Amber
  2. I hope you get your answers! I know how it feels to be unsure about what's causing you symptoms. Wishing you the best! Amber
  3. Thanks!! I'm going to take a look at all the links! Donna, thanks for your post, that makes it a bit easier to understand. I just love this forum!!! I don't know what I would do without all of you!! Amber
  4. I think it was good advice to tell her to have someone else read the TTT results. It won't hurt anyway. I think it's great your so supportive towards your family! Your heart is in the right place. Take care, Amber
  5. I hope you improve while your pregnancy progresses. Nausea was really bad for me with both my pregnancies. They had to give me supositories(sp) to stop the vomiting. It did help to keep at least water down. But ginger ale was also a great help. It's the ginger that does the trick. Good luck and best wishes! Amber
  6. Sorry your having problems with your perscriptions. I haven't ran into that kind of problem, but wanted to let you know that I care. I hope you can figure something out that will help. (((HUGS))) Amber
  7. Hi Nina, Thanks for the update. I hope the tubes will work magic. LOL Try not to push yourself too hard. All the house work isn't going anywhere. But glad to know I'm not the only one that gets behind. Take care and big (((HUGS))) on the loss of your kitty, Amber
  8. Hi, I was looking in the charts I have and it says on the results of one of my holter moniters that I had Sinus Tachycardia. Then on another it said that I had Suprventricular Tachycardia. Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a difference right? From what I understand you can "shock" your heart for treatment for the ST, but not for the IST. Can you have both ST and IST? I'm so confused. I wish my next appointment was sooner, but since it's a month away, I thought I would post and see if I can get some answers. Or at least questions I can ask my doctor to get answers. Thanks, Amber
  9. I wish you the best of luck!!! That would be a hard choice to make. I understand how you would feel that maybe you have a chance to feel even a little better with the surgery. Go with what you think is best for you. Take care, Amber
  10. For most people it's 99 and up to be low grade fever. But like in Dionna's case some peoples temp is normal in higher temps. Amber
  11. Computers can be so frustrating sometimes! Good luck with getting it all fixed. Amber
  12. oh, that's great! Thanks for letting us know. Amber
  13. Sorry your having a tough time. If it helps at all I too am having problems with my stomach. I've been in the bathroom all weekend. I have IBS and have been dx since I was 14, so I couldn't tell you what's normal either. But I do so understand about sugar crashes and feeling sick. (((hugs))) Take care, Amber
  14. I'm feeling better emotionally. Thanks for letting me know you care. I can't tell you how much I need to know I'm not alone. My heartrate isn't too high, I don't think it has even gotten over 150. It's just that I'm very symptomatic, even at 110 bpm. I'm not sure what type of rhythm I have.....that's what upsets me. He doesn't seem to know what's going on either. I did see a EP doctor who unfortunetly I didn't like. I think I would be better off with a doctor I don't like verses a doctor who's not sure how to treat me. (((SIGH))) I go back on Oct 20th to get blood work and to do the holiter. I've done the holiter before and other then the skin reaction from the glue I'm not worried about that. At this time I will mention seeing the EP again. I don't think I will benifit at all from them "shocking" my heart, and unless he can prove to me that it will do more good then harm then it will not be done. I do need to be more active in my own care. I just get so nervous and I feel like I'm on the spot. Something I'm tring very hard to get over. I need to bring in the questions I write down, but I feel stupid for shutting down the way I do I just can't bring myself to do it. But that's another issue. Thanks for ALL your support, Amber
  15. Thanks! I have changed when I take it. He said it was a 24hr med though so didn't know if it would help, but it wouldn't hurt to try. So far I think it has helped. The problem I'm dealing with now is headache/migraines. I get them bad anyway, but I'm getting them really bad right now? I'm keeping my fingers crossed the ease up. When they do it will be easier to tell how much the Toprol is helping. Again thanks for the feedback......and the warnings Amber
  16. So sorry you had to say goodbye to such a special friend. Hang in there and remember the good memories to get you through this sad time. Amber
  17. Hi, I want to cry right now, for fear, frustration, confusion. I called the doctor's office this morning to see if I could take the Toprol Xl in the mornings instead of at bed time. While I had them on the phone I told them that I was having chest pain, but didn't think it was a big deal. Well they had me come in and make sure all was well. It seems all is well. He gives me Protonix for heartburn. Tells me to come back on the 20th of October(an appointment I had set up already) He wants to do a holiter on this day. But he makes a coment as he rights in my chart. I ask him what that ment and he said that if they can't control the heartrate with meds then he wants to do a sergical procedure(sp) that will shock my heart. So of course now I'll all upset....what??? Does he know what he's doing? He doesn't even know WHY my heartrate is high? I am at a point where I want to run away from ALL doctors. What should I do? I'm thinking about seeing another doctor, or at least asking for a referal to see the EP specialist. I'm trying so hard not to cry!! But I don't know how long I can hold back. I always seem to feel as though more could have been done at the office. That it was a waste of my time and theirs. Does anyone else feel this way? I guess I am afraid to go to a different doctor because this one actually believes me something is wrong. This is way harder then it should be!!! Thanks for listening, Amber
  18. I can fell this way too, but I have not been dx with pots. I think that it is a symptom of POTS though. There is a list of symptoms on dinet if you haven't had a chance to look at it yet. It's very helpful. Amber
  19. Thanks, Maybe I should be taking it in the morning instead of at bedtime? The morning is when I'm more symptomatic so it makes sense. I think I'll call the doctors office and see if I could change it. Thanks again, Amber Oh, I noticed the other day when I cleaned the floors that my heartrate increased by 32 even while on the Toprol. I know it should raise when more active, but it wasn't like I was working that hard? Is that a normal increase?
  20. Hi Robert, Just wanted to welcome you. I hope you can find something that will prevent you from getting dehydrated. Best of luck to you, Amber
  21. Hi all, I'm wondering how you can tell if you need a stronger dose? Or if maybe it's not working the way it needs to? I'm asking because I'm back on it at the lowest dose . I feel as if I have a little more (oh? how to describe it?) not really energy, but my head doesn't feel as foggy. I get episodes though that I feel real dizzy/lightheaded and I'm shakey. I thought at first it was the Toprol making me feel worse, but now I'm wondering if I might just need a stronger dose? It's wierd because these episodes happen around the same time each day. After 8am but last untill around 4pm. I take the Toprol before bed and actually feel restless and sleepy at the same time. My heartrate seems to be more under control, but I still feel as if it's high. Any insight would be helpfull.....I know we are all different, but I'm confused. I can't even remember how I'm supposed to feel. GGRRR. Thanks, ~AMBER~
  22. Hang in there! Sending you my best. I hope the treatments works. Amber
  23. I just wanted to welcome you. I have not been diagnosed yet with POTS, but I do have IBS and Migraines. I hope you find the answers your searching for. Take care, Amber
