Hi, I know a few people on here attend school. I would like to take a few classes, but I'm curious as to how to go about this. I recently got approved for SSDI and I don't want to screw that up, plus I know I can't sit/stand for too long as it is. I would love to further my education because I am hoping someday that my docs and I can find some meds to help me. I wouldn't live at school and I am hoping that financial aide could help pay for most or all of my school...I guess I basically would like to know how this school thing is done! Hi, I do not wear compression hose...Do they help?? Also, I have not tried Welbutrin for my autonomic problems..I wonder how it helps with the nausea??? Jacquie

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't been posting as much but I have not felt too great. Tonight it's really gotten bad in the nausea department...I literally don't know where to go from here, my stomach aches are getting sooooo bad, I just don't knwo what to do anymore. I see my gastro tomorrow, but I'm not sure how that is going to work out since my gastric emptying study came back negative...I really have no idea what is going on with me and my stomach....Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on??? Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone was affected by the animal food recalls here...Luckily my cat doesn't eat canned food anymore but my sister had a few cans for her cats...So far they are okay. Jacquie

Hi guys, I went to my PCP and he happened to have a copy of the results of my gastric emptying study and they came back normal...Not that I want/wanted something to be wrong but I'm soo confused now as to where my horrible nausea is coming from...

Have you tried Topamax? My neuro suggested it for me.

Hi Guys, I saw the Epilepsy Neuro Specialist today. She wants me to get an EEG, MRI, and also go in for a sleep study for a few nights...My head is aching soo bad, it has for the past few weeks, so she suggested that I try Topamax. Is anyone here on that for headaches? I'll keep you guys posted, sorry I havent been posting as much. Jacquie

Hi, My PCP was pretty stumped. We both do not think it is the Midodrine, however. He took some blood samples to check my electrolyte levels and potassium levels (is that an electrolyte?). For the headaches he's going to wait and see what my new Neuro says. I am going to a neuro who specializes in Epilepsy just to make sure I don't have that, since my mother does. Thanks! Jacquie

Hi guys, I see my doc at 1115 today, so I'll let you know what he says. I do not think it's the midodrine personally because I have never had a problem with it before and I have been on it for almost a year... Jacquie

Hi Guys, I have not gotten any results back yet. I have a follow up apptmt with my GI doc next Friday so hopefully I get the results then. I was very nauseas that day of the test, I could barely eat that horrible egg sandwich! Thanks for asking, I'll keep you guys updated, Jacquie

Hi, SO the pain in my arms spread to my back and my head so I went to the hospital by car. The doc was basically no help...He told me to stop taking the Midodrine because there was a side effect that can cause the central nervous system to act haywire and basically that is what is causing my pain...This doesn't make sense to me at all...Does anyone else know what he would be referring to?? My head aches soo bad I can't even think anymore. Just wanted to update you guys. It's not like I can realistically quite the Midodrine either because w/o it I'm barely able to sit/stand. Jacquie

Hi guys, A few weeks back I noticed that I had a red circle on the bend of my elbow...It disappeared and I really thought nothing about it, but now I have severe pain in that arm that spreads....Does this sound like a blood clot??? Thanks for any info. I am going to try to get into the doctors tomorrow, but just curious if anyone has had the same problem. Jacquie

Hi Guys, Just thought I would let you all know I made it through the Gastric Emptying Study...barely..I had a very hard time eating the egg sandwich because I was soo nauseaus...I finally did it...My test was only two hours so I'm hoping it's accurate; I know I have seen posts about the 2 hour not being as accurate as the 4 hour..Anyhow, just thought I'd let you guys know that I got that obstacle out of the way. Hi Dayna, I've never been to Disney World..or on a plane for that matter, but I wanted to wish you the best of luck and I hope you have a safe, fun trip. I agree with the others about bringing lots of water, and why not use a wheelchair, save your energy so you can feel good for the 7 days, or atleast feel somewhat decent. Get lots of pics for us!!! Hi, I also did part 1 of the research at BIDMC. Dr. Bonyhay and Dr. Gibbons were there for the research. They wanted me to come back for part 2 but my deciding factor to say no was that they were using a medication that is not FDA approved for any use except for in this research...That was just my personal reason for declining...if there was approved meds being used I might have said yes, who knows, I have been feeling pretty horrible lately..Anyhow, best of luck to you and whatever decision you make! Hi, Hi, it was weird to see your post up because I have been having the dizziness/nausea feeling all afternoon...It stinks, to say the least! Does anyone have anything that helps themk feel better during these "episodes?" I am on Midodrine but it doesn't seem to help these things! Jacquie

Amy,. I wish there was something I could do to help you. I can't even begin to imagine the treatment you have to go through for Lyme. I would definately try to see if the docs could give you a lower dose since you are having such a hard time on the dose you are on right now...Keep us updated once you hear back from your docs office. hi guys, Today my gastric emptying study was scheduled and I couldn't make it in. For those of you who have had it done you know that you can't eat after midnight and well my body didn't like that idea. I got up at 6am today since I'd have to be leaving early because of the heavy traffic I would hit and I felt soo dizzy, nauseous and disoriented...I had made sure I ate before I went to bed and drank a good amt of water, but thats one of my stomache probs, waking up nauseas...I am now waiting on hold for the doctor, I'll write back how I make out...I literally sat in bed crying this morning because how ridiculous is it that I can't even go to a doctors apptmt due to the dizziness and nausea?!

Hi guys, Just found out a few hours ago that my aunt passed away from cancer. She found out in Dec. that she had multiple myeloma...She was in stage 3 so there wasn't much they could do. She came down with pneumonia and wasn't able to fight anymore. He three kids were there and her son made it home from Iraq to say goodbye to his mother...I know there have been so many advances made in treatments for cancer I just wish there were better ones around and obviously a cure for them... Maxine, I also don't know quite what to say either. I'm so sorry for this news...I just found out last night that my aunt is not expected to make it much longer..She has multiple myeloma cancer, which spread everywhere.. This year has NOT started out too well for many of us..If there is anything I can do for you please don't hesitate. Hang in there and don't forget to take care of yourself as well. Jacquie
