  1. Also, just curious, this may sound like a silly question, but how long does it take to notice the effects of the med for POTS and anxiety?! Thanks again Also, Sophia3 what is a yawning jag?
  2. Thank you guys for replying. I feel like lately I have stopped living my life in fear of everything.. The mornings are still bad with the dizziness, etc. but I notice now at night laying down my heart races...Hopefully this helps with the POTS symptoms as well as the anxiety. I'm not sure if it's the anxiety that makes my heart race at night or if it's the POTS stuff. Anyhow, I'm hoping this medication works for me. thanks, Jacquie
  3. Hi, I have just been prescribed Zoloft 75mg. by my cardio. Just curious what doses others have started at on the Zoloft?? I am going to start on 50mg then work my way to 75mg just to see what side effects occur, if any. I am starting to become real anxious about being sick and I can't stop worrying, hopefully this helps with that "stuff" too. I'd like to hear what others have to say about this medication! Thanks Jacquie
  4. Hi guys, For the last few days (2 weeks almost) I have been super nauseas and one day I threw up for a few hours....Anyhow, the nausea seems to be off and on today as well as yesterday. However, last night I got blurred visioin in my left eye and dizzy for about 10 minutes as well as the feeling I was sweating/flushing. Then about 15 minutes later I got a severe headache that lasted for a few hours. Does this sound like Migraines to anyone or maybe a tension headache?? I talked to my cardio about the dizziness and increased tachy I've been getting in the AM and he would like to put me on Zoloft...I'd like to hear others experiences with Zoloft as well if you wouldn't mind. I am going so down hilll I'm willing to try just about anything now... Thanks! Jacquie
  5. Hi guys, Lately I've been super dizzy but my BP is pretty good. Any reasons why this happens?? My lower extremites are tingley/on the verge of being numb....Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi Melissa, Thank you for your reply. It's good to see youb ack here . My allergies are pretty bad to the point my throat swells up and I get palpitations, etc. My allergist has given me an RX for epi-pen since we still aren't sure what's causing this reaction in me. I'm gonna try to muster up the energy to fight with the insurance company...Thanks again! Jacquie
  7. Hi guys, Just curious to see if anyone else has a problem with their insurance covering allergy meds. My insurance does not cover any of them. My PCP wrote out an RX for allegra and it won't be covered. Obv. I don't have the money to pay for it every month...Anyone got any ideas for me or have had the same prob? Thanks
  8. Hi, My allergist wanted me to try some claritin for my allergies since the benedryl gives me palpitations..Just curious of the good and or bad experiences you might have had with this particular medication. Thanks! Jacquie
  9. Hi, I have been on Midodrine for a little over a year and recently I find that I cannot take it at all, no matter what dose. I keep getting these horrible headaches and the Midodrine seems to make them worse or the headaches start once I take the Midodrine (about an hour after). I have not taken Midodrine for 2 days and I still have the headaches just not as bad, but I am sooo dizzy I can barely stand it. My BP is okay, not too great but I've had lower BP readings..Just curious to see if anyone else has had a prob with Midodrine doing this or maybe it's just a coincidence?! Thanks, Jacquie
  10. Congrats!!! That is truely great news!!!
  11. Hi, What a coincidence seeing your post. For the last few weeks everytime I finish eating a snack, meal, etc I get hick ups...They don't last too long but I'm not sure why they occur...Any ideas??? Thanks, Jacquie
  12. Hi, I have been having pretty bad allergic reactions lately too. I am going to see an allergist because the docs can't figure out what is going on.... I have a pic i can email u though because the doc i saw said it was definately an allergic reaction. Jacquie
  13. Hi, Just curious if you ever made it in to see Novak, Neuro at BMC..Excellent....Also, I have a great GI doc at BMC who is awesome as well. His name is Dr. Lowe....Sorry I havent been posting much, my stomache has been crazy also. Jacquie
  14. Hi, Nausea is definately one of the worst symptoms for me, if not the worst. I remember reading some of your posts a while ago about the severe nausea. It stinks that it has returned. I usually am stuck hoping and praying it goes away. Nothing helps me out with it much at all. I did get an RX for some anti nausea meds but have yet to try them...Not too crazy about the side effects, etc. Has your doc prescribed any meds to treat the nausea??? I'm hoping this passes quickly for you. Hang in there. Jacquie
  15. Hi, I was going to suggest some type of viral ear infection, because I had the same type of dizziness/vertigo happen to me. Since you've already had that checked out I'm not sure what it could be...Just thinking back during the time I had that dizziness and it's horrible...How has your b/p been lately?? Have you been keeping up with fluids?? Keep us updated. Jacquie
  16. Hi, Lately I have been having a horrible time swallowing. Some of it liquids but I'm thinking that is allergies, but also when I'm eating food I start choking it back up...Anyone else have this thing going on too? Thanks, Jacquie
  17. Hi again! Just curious if your insurance is going to cover the enhanced circulatory device? Jacquie
  18. Hi, I tried Florinef for a few months but had to stop due to severe headaches, which we were never even sure if they were caused by the Florinef, since I still have them. Florinef did help me out somewhat when I was taking it, but for me personally, the Midodrine helps alot...As for the enhanced circulatory device I've never heard of one, but I'm going to read the link you put up for it. Let us know what kind of results you get from either treatment! Goodluck! Jacquie
  19. Deucykub, Just wanted to say hi and that I'm sorry how today went. I ended up leaving my job @ the bank where I used to work. I had doctors notes stating that I needed to have a chair at all times, but my manager didn't care. I would then get written up for stuff I never did. Example: One girl I worked with used to say I did all these things I never did, I even asked management to review security cameras, which they wouldn't but once this girl walked out one day my manager came up to me and said, " Oh I heard so and so was not very nice to you..." Um yea no kidding was what I felt like saying!!! I used up alot of my sick time b ut had a week left and was told I couldn't miss anymore days for doctors apptmts. There were more issues than this, but I just wanted to let you know I can relate...I'm sorry for anyone who has to go through this. Jacquie
  20. Hi Guys, The allergic reaction seems to have settled down. Just curious if I should still look into getting tested by an allergist. We still do not know what caused it. Thanks, Jacquie
  21. Hi guys, I cannot thank you all enough for your replies... I went to my PCP today and he called in an RX for Allegra, of course my insurance won't cover it! So, my doc needs to find another med that will be covered...He said that if I am still getting the reactions by Monday to call and he is going to get me in to see an allergist. I am definately having a weird reaction. I'll be fine for a little bit then I get severe itching and my throat feels tight, but not the tight feeling to take the Epi-Pen. I still take the benadryl a few times a day, but I can only tolerate one 25 mg pill and I still deal with the dizziness with that dose. The 50 mg is what helps the most, but the dizziness and fatigue are soo over whelming. I cannot afford to buy the Clariten that is over the counter (or is it Clarinex?) or any of the other allergy drugs since I am still waiting for disability backpay. Even if I could at the moment it is not something that I would be able to keep up with since I will be on quite a fixed income. A while back I did see an Endo for ideopathic flushing and sweats, but nothing was found. I am not sure if she did check for a Mast Cell Disorder. I know I was tested for Pheomycytoma (not sure of the exact spelling)...I am interested in whether I could have a Mast Cell disorder, it would almost explain the horrible nausea I face alot, as well as the itching and flushing as well... Julie-I also deal with the horrible fatigue, nausea, and for the past year and a half I have been having severe headaches that come off and on. The headaches was the reason I was having the MRI. Do you know what type of testing is done to rule out or diagnose a Mast Cell Disorder? My doc asked if the ER doc gave me an RX for Epi-Pen and I told him I had been given an RX for it, he was a little skittish about me using one due to the arrhythmias/tachycardia I get, but obv. I'd need to use it if I got a severe enough reaction that affected my throat, etc. My hives seem to affect just my upper body for the most part. I'll get some itching on my legs, but nothing quite as severe at my upper body. Would an allergist be able to diagnose a Mast Cell disorder??? If not, what type of doctor is knowledgable about this?? Maxine-Have you ever beeen tested for Mast Cell disorders?? I asked my dentist what he could use besides Novacaine and he said there were a few other options, I'm not sure what, but he said he'd like me to be tested for that allergy... Doctorguest-I am getting the same type of reaction as the first time, but not nearly as many hives/ or redness. The itching is alot worse however, and my throat feels tight at times but not too bad to have to use the Epi-Pen. Rachel/Cardiactech-I actually thought I was having a reaction to something from the MRI but I never did come in contact with the machine or any type of robe, etc. since I got to leave on my regular clothes. I suppose maybe I could have some type of reaction still, but I definately would hope that it wouldnt last this long! Bren62- I don't remember if the doc was wearing any latex gloves or if they were another type? Next time I go, if I am brave enough to go back, I'll have to ask. Tessa- My reaction was only the swelling of my throat, nothing else...thank goodness!! What does the dentist use on you now?? Mkoven- If you get the blood test for allergies would you have to be having a reaction at the time of the blood draw?? Just curious because I am new to this whole allergy thing! Sorry this got to being so long! Thanks again for all your replies! Jacquie
  22. Hi guys, Thank you all for taking the time to reply. Last night I had another allergic reaction and I have to see my doctor today. I'll reply to your posts a bit later, as I am getting very itchy again. Just curious if anyone knows how long it would take to get an allergy testing...If I am getting this everyday would they take me right in?? Thanks, Jacquie
  23. Hi, I didn't have anything for the MRI...It was just so strange how sick I got...Do you have any ideas? Thanks! Jacquie
  24. Hi guys, I had quite an interesting night, so to say...I had an open MRI last night at 630..during the middle of the MRI I got very nauseas (worse than usual, prob the most nauseas I've ever felt) and my eyesight got very bluring, then my body jerked and my heart rate shot up very high...all while I was in the MRI...I kinda ignored the stuff thinking its just the POTS, but then when I was done with the MRI I had a rash all over my chest. The MRI tech said they've never heard of anyone or seen anyone with it, so they didnt think the rash was related to the MRI....About 10 minutes later I started getting really itchy and my chest felt heavy and the tachycardia kept coming off and on...I went to the hospital and the doc said it sounded like an allergic reaction to something...Still not sure what it could have been since I havent eaten anything new...I'm just curious if anyone has had anything similar happen to them...I'm pretty sure it wasn't nerves because I was fine through most of the MRI...I was given Benedryl which helped and an Epi-pen to take if I ever have the same thing....What are the experiences those of you on an Epi-pen have had?? Not quite sure what to do...Also, the last time I was at the dentist a few weeks ago I had a reaction to Navacaine, never had a prob with it before..My throat swelled up...Why am I all of a sudden getting all these crazy reactions??? Thanks for any help/advice, etc that can be offered. Jacquie
