  1. Good luck and be safe on your trip! Here is to hoping there are lots of other nice surprises waiting!
  2. Hi Jan, Glad to hear from you. You both sound to be coping well and I still send out prayers and thoughts for you all. Good luck with the business. It should be a nice change for your mind also, having something else to think about. Good luck again!
  3. Ooh that heat! I remember when we had the black out here in the east, right on my little guys birthday too, guess we will always remember that birthday. It was soooo hot and we did not have power for two days. Thank goodness I was not in too bad shape at that time, now if it were to go out this year, forget it. I don't have central ac, a rinky dink one in the wall in the dining room which does not reach the living room well, and we have not yet gotten one for our bedroom, we have casement windows so we have to get one to put in the wall and have someone come and cut it etc, and it is on the second floor. So needless to say we sleep alot in the living room or the kids room. Glad to hear you will be right on top of the list if it happens again! Hope you are keeping cool now.
  4. Hoping also that you all are well and safe as well as your friends, families and neighbors...
  5. Glad you all are safe and I hope anyone here who has members there that they are all safe.
  6. Glad you had a positive experience and are on the road to recovery!
  7. Glad you are on the road to recovery and were well treated. That goes a long way! I used levsin eons ago when I was a teenager and had a lot of IBS issues going on. Don't remember much about it though. I have been seeing Zelnorm advertised to now being touted as increasing seretonin in the bowels to help keep it going and stop the cramping and constipation etc. Never thought of bowels using seretonin but I am learning lots along the way. Hope you are feeling better each day
  8. Hi, Sorry about your little one. It is emotionally and physically draining. The worry, worry worry. My littlest guy was in when he was 4mths old on New Years Eve with RSV. Scary time. He is now almost four and except for a touch of asthma he is great. Take care of yourself too
  9. Hi Julie, Hang in there! I have pretty much daily issues with my heart. Either tachy, runs of extra beats or it feels like my stomach drops. like on a roller cocaster. (I usually feel the stomach drops usually as an adrenaline rush) I also notice that after, and it usually turns in a tachy episode, that I burp alot. I figured it had a lot to do with the vagus nerve and the stomach. My cardio even agreed. Not always but many times it happens. The past few days I have been bloated and when I eat I feel it up to the back of my throat and the early beats or extra beats start. Sorry you are feeling so down, , kids can certainly give you a beating, that's for sure. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.
  10. Hi Jan, This really is a tough time. I'm worrie that you are having these chest pains but glad you went and had them checked out. With all this stress it's hard to know what is causing what. I hope you both can have a calm but fun weekend with the family. Enjoy the kids. Remember we are all keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers. (((hugs)))
  11. Hi, I am also heading in the SSRI area for anxiety. I am a bit leary, but from what I hear from everyone it might well be a risk worth taking.(with side effects I mean). Which one is your Dr. giving you?
  12. Hi, I have an appt. with my cardio today. I am going to start lexapro wether I like it or not. He really feels it well help the "hair trigger adrenaline response". I am very sensitive to meds. I take the smallest amount of beta blocker 12.5mg that I can and feel that. Just wanted to know, knowing most of us are very sensitive to meds, how much you are getting by on. Of course I am still nail biting over the possible side effects, especially when it comes to the heart, and then forseeing into the future about withdrawal if I can ever come off of it. Thanks friends, hope for those of you who are experiencing the heat and humidity you are keeping cool and hydrated.
  13. Yes please let us know, and remember we are all keeping you and your husband in our thoughts.
  14. Hi, Hate to say glad other have the chills also, but I am glad I am not alone in that. There were days when all day long I had the chills, sometimes teeth chattering and it did not always coincide with having a "attack", and I even was having problems with sweating, I mean constantly. Both have seemed to back off a bit except for the chills, which I do still get but not as bad. When an attack is coming on or I am going through one, the chills are back full force. My temp usually registers at 97 or sometimes 96.7.
  15. I'm so sorry about the way you have been feeling and being treated. All we want *sigh* is for someone to understand and try to help us. I avoid the ER at all costs. I know you had no choice and so sad that they did not pay attention to your request to call your doc. Bedside manner is not taught in med school anymore, I think. Get em in get em out seems to be the way. Hope you get some answers soon.
  16. Congratulations and best wishes for the future! What a great story, gave me goosebumps,(and that's not from the dysautonomia either..lol). Quite an accomplishment and from what I know of you now, you deserved that wonderful day and night! Congrats again
  17. I also have gone through bouts of nausea. A few times it lasted a few months then went away. Lately it has been daily and I can't relate it to food either. Try taking small meals throughout the day. Hope you feel better soon
  18. Wow Katherine, sounds like I could of wrote this post. I am so sorry you are having a bit of a setback but I bet you will bounce right back. I feel the same way that you do, when symptoms come back, I question wether I had them before, if it felt/was the same. I have been getting adrenaline surges also. Feel them in my head, stomach and of course the ole ticker. It worries me the most when it affects my heart. It only lasts a few seconds but it worries me anway. It happens so quick I can't check my pulse, but when I do check it, it is not going fast. I also get them sometimes up to 20-30 times a day! Now that frightens me. This has only recently been happening. I felt something similar years ago, but not to this extent and not this frequently and those did subside but now I am afraid they will not. I am switching to toprol to see how that works and still contemplating the lexapro-ssri. : I wonder if it is also that the older we get, the less we tolerate these episodes or should I say the bigger toll it takes on us. I am hoping this passes also. I don't know..I just wish I could find a Doc that could help. Let's hang in there together and get through.
  19. Congratulations! A beautiful baby boy!! Wishing you all a lifetime of happiness and joy with your two precious ones.
  20. I don't think I could say anything better than what has been said. You have very caring neighbors, let them help and anyone else who offers. You don't have to put up a front for them. It's o.k. to feel beaten, that's normal. I like the idea of calling your dr. and maybe having an adjustment or add something to your medication. It just might be able to help you function a bit more clearly. Hugs to you (((())) and your family. Wish I lived near you so I could help, but like everyone else, with you in spirit.
  21. Hi, This may not be at all helpful but here goes. A few weeks back I had some nasty sinus problems and my allergist prescribed prednisone. I felt the best for 5 days than I had in a long time. They do not like you to be on long, it has some side effects that could be nasty. I could only figure it was the prenisone which is a synthetic cortisol. I may be way off on this but I think someone explained to me once that cortisol depresses the immune system so I was thinking that this may be a type of inflammatory thing going on. I was also told that at this point my adrenals were exhausted and not reacting properly. I certiainly felt like that last night. I should be sleeping and all I had was waves of adrenaline wash over me as soon as sleep was about to it. I mean all night. I am sooooo tired and washed out now and even as I am awake the adrenaline is still spurting out inappropriately of course. I was hoping to find some natural support that would help nourish the adrenals and see if it would help. Still looking
  22. Hi Sunfish, Wow you certainly have been through the wringer but sounds like you came out ahead at least with feeling a bit stable. Glad to hear the new meds seem to be working well and that the trip was worth it for you as well as the Drs/nurses being understanding, except of course, there is always one or two who are the exception. It certainly gives hope that there is help out there.
  23. Hi, I get a lot of tightness in my face and sometimes tingling on my nose, lips or a certain area. I can't say it is outright numb but it's weird and scary. I used to think it was from fibro but could never really say. Sometimes I feel a wave come over me, which I guess is adrenaline and I feel the funny feeling in my face.
  24. Hi Lucky, Welcome and hope all goes well with this new EP. Hopefully he/she can shed some light for you and give you some much needed help.
  25. Hi, It's o.k. to feel sad as long as you don't let it bring you down any further sometimes that is what helps to get you past it all. Try not to dwell on what was, I am guilty of that also, remembering what it was like to feel normal or at least what it was like b/4 all the symptoms started. Try to think of each day and day closer to getting better, to a level that you will be happy with. Do something special for yourself today, or have someone do it for you! Think when that day comes for me I am going to jump into a container of Ben and Jerrys Godfather ice cream,,hit the sugar overload and pass out for the night,,or maybe day! (((hugs))) to you
