  1. The fact that there are harmful chemicals and hormones in our food and products. Cancer causing chemicals in our shampoo, cleaning products, makeup, deodorant... Fruit infused with animal hormones to make them last longer etc. I just don't get it. How could people sell that stuff and not feel bad? And it's so hard abd expensive to go completely all natural and organic so what are you supposed to do?
  2. I haven't been diagnosed with anything besides POTS. That's why I was worried if POTS can't cause it.
  3. I'm sorry that happened and I so know how you feel. My family is like that too a lot of the time. It's so frustrating.
  4. Is it normal for a symptom of POTS to have really irregular periods or none at all?
  5. My GI doctor wants me to try Periactin for nausea. Has it helped anyone? The only thing I'm worried about is one of the side effects is weight gain, and I'm already overweight (possibly from water retention but still looking into it). I would take weight gain over nausea if it helps...
  6. When I had my TTT I laid there for thirty minutes before hand and I'm pretty sure they just used the one from right before they tilted me up.
  7. I just felt like this last night. When you feel like we do the last thing you want to do is the dishes or clean the bird cage or whatever. I try to do stuff anyway though because it makes me feel like I'm accomplishing things. On some days though really all I can do is sit or lie down.
  8. A little thanks. I had fun on the last day we were there.
  9. I was just at the beach and I noticed that too! And in the pool.
  10. This is my absolute worst problem. I can sympathize with you so much. I want to sleep so badly but how can you sleep feeling like you will be sick at any moment. I also get it probably four- five nights a week. This is pathetic, but some nights i just sit in my dining and cry because it feels like torture. I had the motility test and it came back negative, I still think there is some issue with that though. It would probably be a good idea to get it checked. I hope you feel better soon.
  11. I was feeling pretty good today when I was leaving my vacation at the beach. We decided to stop at a shop that had all kinds of beach stuff and they had tons of kites tied up on the cieling. When I was walking around in there I started feeling sicker and sicker and I realized they had those lights like the ones in the mall and the kites blowing around were making them blink. I feel so sick in the grocery, department stores, the mall, school... and I think its from those lights. But why would lights be a trigger?
  12. The swings have always been my favorite- wierd! I don't have low bp though mine is actually high.
  13. Thanks everyone, you all understand me so well. Today really sucked but tonight is a little better. I went out to the beach for a little bit. Tomrrow is our last full day so fingers crossed it will be a good one. About the blockage he just said my legs are really puffy and retaining water, so it could be a blockage. I don't know what else would cause that? Relax86- I actually did see a really hot guy!!
  14. I got to the beach on Saturday. I love the beach. I think about our trip throughout the whole year because I feel better and I'm happy when I'm at the beach. I think it's the salt, vitamin D, lots of exercise etc. I haven't felt good this week. And today I'm doubled up and extremley nauseous in my room at the beach house. It's so not fair. I'm 16 years old I should be able to enjoy things, especially being at my favorite place in the world, but I don't. And I'm scared because before I left for vacation my doctor said he thinks I have a blockage in me because my legs retain so much fluid/ are so puffy. What's a blockage? What does that mean? Is that even POTS related?
  15. I'm sixteen and I take .1 mg too. For me it has helped with dizziness/ lightheadedness but that's it. Surprisingly I had no side effects at all, but it's different for everyone. I heard about the stunt your growth thing and things like that, but that is only in high doses and the dose I take is super tiny. I hope it makes you feel better!!!
  16. My summer schedule is all crazy so here's my normal day: wake up around 8- 12 depending on how I feel/ when my homebound teachers are coming. Eat a yogurt. If I dont eat a yogurt I feel way worse- blood sugar issues? Not sure. Anyways, then I try to get ready. Get dressed, do my hair and makeup. Sometimes I can't do my hair and make up but I always get dressed. Homebound teachers come anywhere from 2 1/2- 5 hours a day. Then I eat. Then I do homework. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week. Then I do the dishes (usually sitting). Then I shower (sitting). Then I watch TV / iPod until three or four in the morning because I'm too nauseous to sleep. I hate that time the most.
  17. I have had so many issues with my school. It really makes me sad, because they don't seem to care what so ever. When I was undiagnosed they said the truancy officer could come drag me into school. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. We have found the only thing that really helps is if you find a good cardio who will talk to them and explain the needs of a POTS patient and everything they go through.
  18. It's so random for me. I have insomnia so I guess night time is worse.
  19. Winter is actually worse for me. I'm always freezing so I love going outside during the summer. I do get dizzy if I'm standing in the heat for too long though.
  20. I'm fifteen too- I really hope this will happen to us. All of my doctors have told me they think it will go away and it would be so awesome if they are right!!
  21. It went ok. I didn't feel great, but I made it through.
  22. Yes, I hate that feeling. I've started to hate eating in general.
  23. I'm a little confused. I had an appointment with my cardio yesterday and he said it looks like I'm retaining a lot of fluid, especially in my legs. I thought that potsies don't retain enough fluid which is why we have to take salt and drink so much? I'm going to get a CAT scan soon, but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this?
