Oh, I hope you are home and doing okay - or if not-so-okay maybe at least able to sleep throught the bad feeling you get from the anesthesia! It will take a while but, for me, just to be rid of the constant bleeding was a great thing!

Well, good news! At a thrift store yesterday I found a larger size press at a thrift store - only $5.50! Yay!! Life is good....

YUM!!!! The press makes great coffee! The only downside is this one is a small one, I will undoubtedly get a larger one later on, but it is no more complicated than the drip maker. It looks much nicer on the countertop and doesn't take up as much space. The beans I ground not as fine as I do for the drip maker. I poured the ground coffee in, poured the boiled water over them, put the top on it and let it steep for 4 minutes then pushed the plunger down slowly. The coffee is very rich tasting with no bitterness. Yep, I am a convert! I have coffee again!!! (Dancing slowly here!)

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my french press.... today is 9 days since it was ordered, I figured it would take 2 weeks or so to get here. When It does I will be giving a full report... since I will be busy experimenting with my new "toy" and, therefore, probably won't be able to sleep!

I have ordered my coffee press and now, I wait for it to arrive..... You will all get a full report as soon as I get it and make some coffee.... ahhhh, real COFFEE!!!!!

Thanks, Corina! Rick felt SO sorry for me (and maybe I was a bit hard to get along with) so he got me a coffee press off of e-bay. Now to see how many weeks it takes to get here from Canada!

I, too, have to have 2 cups in the morning or I just can't move! regular - not decaf... The drip coffee makers, in this area, don't last long due to the water. A french press is like a big glass cup with a plunger that has a filter on the end. You put in your coarse ground coffee then pour hot water on it, let it steep for a few minutes then press the plunger down, trapping the grounds on the bottom. No electric - no long waiting - nothing to wear out....

Yep, my coffee maker has given up. I am considering going with a french press - anyone ever tried one of these? I want to hear the good, bad and ugly. I am looking at a couple on e-bay, since it will be the 3rd before I can buy one.

I found several on e-bay of various sizes that looked very reasonable. I will probably ask my sister for one for Christmas (since she takes requests!)

I have seen "Advertised on TV" a mat thing to spread the pieces on then they stay in place so you can just roll it up and the pieces stay put. We have a lap TV tray that will lift up... but it's not as big as I need for the puzzles I like. So, like you I am also looking for the right thing. Tables and chairs.... Impossible!

I'm glad Salem came back and you found where he was escaping.... I'll bet Yoshi gets used to having a furbrother... and will like it! Kitties... Oh I hope I find a home soon for them!
