  1. I've never heard of it, so I looked it up.... Earth Dragon Product Information Sheet Now I'm curious... is earthworm powder powdered worms? Or stuff worms eat? Headache - I have no idea - but I know a lot of herbal products give me a terrible headache.
  2. Yes, they tried it from the lowest pressure.
  3. I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, however, I cannot use a C-Pap. For some reason it gives me a severe headache. On a couple of occasions we have tried different machines, and I always end up in the ER for treatment of the headache. Apparently, there is a small percentage of people who just cannot tolerate it. I had surgery in 2000 for the OSA, but it didn't seem to help much. Last year I went back to an ENT to see if there was anything new on the horizon that might help me, and I once again ended up in the ER with the headache. So, I guess I'll just live with it.
  4. Well, we aren't quite barnyard animals - but here are some family pictures. My dad with all of his kids. He was SO excited! We had 27 people show up, my sister had rented a room at a local restaurant, arranged for a cake and a buffet dinner. I am the one on the right with the red on. Dad being serenaded by my 3-year-old great-niece. She insisted on singing "Happy Birthday" to her great-grandpa all by herself! There wasn't a dry eye in the house. That's her momma sitting in the background. Sis cutting the cake. The handsome young man in the orange shirt is my son. Thanks for celebrating Dad's birthday with us!
  5. Well... I've been gone for several days - look what happened! Grrrrr..... SO glad everything came out okay, Nina. Your surgeon sounds awesome! Teri - We really appreciate all the care and attention you give to our Mouse! Wilbur - happy headbutts to you!!
  6. Awww - thanks Melissa!! I'm always a bit hesitant to post pictures because I don't want to bore anyone... But I love to see the pictures everyone else puts on!
  7. Well... this morning I heard a commotion under the window and peeked out. There's 2 oranges and a black one. Anyone need a kitty?? All male. They let me pick them up and handle them - someone has dumped a whole litter out.
  8. We have been having a very wet year so the weeds and grass on the back side of the property have gone wild! So wild, the 3 goats could not keep up with it. Rick's brother came up with what we hope is going to be a solution - Sheep! So we went to the sale barn and only got one little lamb. We named him Lambo. When he gets bigger we will call him Rambo. He is part Masai Hair Sheep. A few days later we found the ewe - she's a Shetland Sheep and extremely sweet and docile - she adopted little Lambo and they are always together. She's 7 years old, had twins this past spring, and the Amish girls we got her from just called her Granny.... we may or may not change her name. Yes, we brought her home in the Suzuki! Got a few funny looks from people on the road... So yesterday our friends Pam and Steve were at the sale barn and he finds.... 2 more hair sheep just like Lambo! They were yearling ewes, just what we were looking for, so he bid on them and brought them to us. Now our little sheep flock is complete - and with 4 sheep and 3 goats, hopefully the overgrowth in the barnyard and elsewhere will be taken care of. One more.... Steve went to the sale barn to find a goat - and he found one. He showed it to us when he delivered the sheep - she is so adorable I had to get a picture of her too! She's just a baby....
  9. Nina, I hope you are all better very soon!
  10. Lauren, for the sake of your article I will e-mail you a copy if you would like. But if you would like to purchase the book you can click on the "Dawg Tired" link in my signature and follow the links.
  11. I used to be a Utilization Coordinator for a health insurance company. I worked directly, one-on-one with the case manager. When I got sick they did everything to move heaven and earth to help me, but then, they watched my ordeal - and had no better luck than I did talking to the doctors. More than likely, a diagnosis code popped up in a computer and kicked you onto the case managers desk - and yes, it can take several months for it to do that, or perhaps she has had a stack sitting on her desk and has just now got around to contacting you. Contacting her might smooth your way to several things, such as getting a few things approved quicker. She probably just needs to hear from YOU what is going on. You are probably quite a novelty and they don't know what your needs are. I remember once a code popped up on a lady ho was having a hip replacement - the code was for breast cancer - she was having a hip replacement. Seems that while she was in the hospital for her hip replacement her oncologist (her words) "popped his head around the door and said hi!" I carefully questioned her about how long they talked, did he change any of her meds and so forth. Seems he made a 3-4 minute visit and turned a bill in to us for $250! He called it a follow-up. We had one woman who we could not contact - but kept getting requests for a motorized wheelchair.... nothing in her records that we could see justified it and, despite letters and phone calls, we could not get in touch with her. Finally, after almost a year, her son called. His mom had MS - but she was opting for alternative medicine, was paying out of her own pocket, and it didn't show up on anything we had. We approved the wheelchair because it was obviously medically justified. I would say talk to the case manager, see what she has to say. You can always refuse her services - approach it with a "what can YOU do for me" attitude.
  12. Fibromyalgia. The pain comes and goes. Headaches - well, not constantly, and they wax and wane. You might do a search for it on the internet to get a better idea what it is and what it involves. I know, in my case, anti inflammatories do not help. I find heat to be my bigget ally, I bought a heated mattress pad, and warm baths seem to help with the skin pain. I am so sorry you are gong through this, but know you aren't alone.
  13. I had that problem... I was told it was all in my head by a neurologist I was sent to. A couple years later I was diagnosed with Fibro. Mine seems to be a neuropathy of some kind.
  14. Not everyone can tolerate the Florinef. For some it is a lifesaver, but for others it has bad effects. How acquainted with your condition is your doctor? Does he have experience with this medication?
  15. Well, I'm good... I have a very long cord on my earbuds and I put the mP3 player on the headboard of the bed, so I have plenty of distance!
  16. YAAY!! I am so glad that you found a solution.
  17. Yep, dry mouth! I am addicted.... to bottled water!
  18. WOW!! Your life has certainly taken an upturn! Will you still speak to us "little people" once you rub elbows with the royal family? We are proud of you!!
  19. Blood draws go okay because I have one "moderate" vein. But IV's are a whole 'nother thing! I put off getting my gallbladder out for 11 years because I dreaded the IV. For the scope before the Gallbladder they put the IV in my foot - but they had to have a better vain than that to do actual surgery.... 4 sticks and they decided to do a "Midline".... They brought in the doppler and it still took 6 more sticks! It took over an hour to get it in - by the time they went to get huby from the waiting room he thought the surgery was over - when they told him it had taken that long just to get the IV started he then understood why I had put things off.
  20. Mine has been in since February of 2003. I haven't had a problem with it wandering around - but then, I am not so small. My scar got really big and ugly too - and it still is, and the site is still very sensitive. It really does sound like you tore something lose in the fall.
  21. I have a Guidant Pacemaker but I assume if I am affected I will be hearing from them. At my last visit my battery was at 100% so I'm not worried, and it isn't too long until my regular EP appointment.
