  1. I take it also. It makes me very sleepy but sometimes that's good for me too because sleeping helps (me) a lot with the nausea. I have passed out once though after taking it because it tends to make me real dizzy. Even though the sleepy part and the dizziness part kind of stink, I love taking it! Does anyone know if this is true about Phenergan....my GI doctor told us yesterday that he doesn't like to prescribe it for long term use because it causes neurological disorders.-is that correct?
  2. I would defiantly push the fluids and eat salty foods. Also, if you need one get a wheelchair. Sometimes airport employees will push you to your next destination in the airport.
  3. Being tired is very common with POTS. I sleep about 12 hours per day and usually end up taking a nap or two. I've been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so that explains a little of my being really sleepy. Sleeping disorders are also common with POTS.
  4. I'm afraid of being left alone for the most part. I tend to be extremely careful of what I do when I'm home alone. I don't use steps unless I absolutely have to. If I'm just not feeling well then I get on the computer or watch tv. I know how you feel and it's alright to have different emotions and feelings like some others have said above. Take Care!
  5. I have heard that it can be hereditary and or just happen to just "you." No one in your family has to have it but somehow you get it....I think that's a new discovery of EDS. I could be wrong though.
  6. I take Elavil for my insomnia and my mom (her dose is higher then mine) takes it for migrane prevention. It helps for the most part but she still gets the occasional migrane/headache where she needs to take her Imitrex.
  7. Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a wonderful day!
  8. I would buy probably 3....at least 1 medium, and 2 x-Larges.
  9. Hi Everyone! For those of you who get the chest tightness: (not the sharp chest pain) do you ever feel it in other parts of your body? I get it in my wrists and in my lower legs/above my knee cap. This is almost like a throbbing kind of tightness and it really begins hurting. Today is really hot out, and I've been feeling it like crazy....just wondering!
  10. Good luck Lauren at your ultrasound tomorrow! Let us know what you find out when you get the results back.
  11. Nina, did you hear back from Ling? I'm guessing you haven't since there isn't an updated post saying so...
  12. I have ovarian cysts but they have never been diagnosed as PCOS...I have always wondered if ovarian cysts were somehow related to POTS.
  13. I made a post about this not too long ago on DYNA.... it was driving me crazy and wanted to see if any one else had this creepy crawling feeling. I was scratching so badly that it left big ugly bruises on my legs...ugh! I personaly stuck it through, the feeling went away eventually and only comes back for a little while every so often. I didn't take anything for it...but doesn't Benadryl have antihistamines in it?....I was told to stay away from Benadryl because the antihistamines can make your heart race...
  14. Good luck Jacquie!!! I hope that everything goes smoothly!!!!
  15. Also don't forget that everybody is different so for you it could take about two weeks like it did for Nina or it could take longer. Good luck, I hope you can tell a difference when it really starts working!
  16. Yes it does take a while for Florinef to start working. My POTS doctor told me that I may not notice that it's working but he will be able too. I think it takes a good few months if I remember correctly .
  17. This is happening to me again because I am back on Desmopressin. I take it at night, but it seems to keep working even throughout the day...no matter how much I drink. Maybe check your medicine's side effects if you are on a new med....maybe someone else will have some insight.
