  1. I'm sorry Bananas. I've definitely felt that my personality has changed since becoming sick. I'm not the person I used to be. I also feel trapped. I feel that recently I've gotten worse and I'm lucky to wash my hair once a week, this sounds disgusting but it's true. I'm scared to get in the shower and therefore I get a couple quick baths/showers but wash hair maybe once a week (I always wear it up anyways and mine is on the dry side, so, it doesn't look terrible) but its the principal of the situation. I feel numb to a lot things in life now. I feel very appreciative for all the little things and all the little things other people take for granted. And someone else mentioned in a post the other day about other people, for example on facebook, who complain about the sniffles, etc. It makes me shake my head and I get somewhat angry, if they only knew! If only someone else could be me for a day. I guess long story short, I can relate having experienced similar things. I can barely go grocery shopping anymore (someone drives me) but being in the store, i'm not sure if its the lights and noise and stimulation like others have mentioned but i get so symptomatic. I think you can tell how much you can 'push through'. you know your body and limits. I push through (Work/job) and housework because I have to, i have two small kids and i have no choice ( or so it feels). I think finding a small church group or just another small activity or group is a wonderful idea. If you crochet/knit, sew, or do something like that, I bet their are little groups in your area that meet up, talk, and do their craft. Maybe a book club or something. I hope you start feeling better and that things start to improve for you in all areas. If you ever want to just talk or vent you can PM me.
  2. Awesome, Seattle, I'm happy that you saw improvement with all the movement/exercise.
  3. Yes, I have issues with elevators! I have to use them at work and it's horrible. Once I step off, I kind of have to stand there and gather my composure before attempting to move and even then, I still feel extremely lightheaded.
  4. Good luck, can't wait to hear about the new appointment!
  5. Hi Firewatcher, I know this is old but what became of this. Do you have sheehan's or did they ever figure that out? I went this morning and had lots of bloods drawn to check all the hormones related and for the sheehan's. I lost a lot of blood during and after delivery from a retained placenta that I had. I'm not hoping for something to be wrong but just hoping for an explanation to my problems. Just checking in, let me know.
  6. "as I sit dirinking my powerade!" I read this article... very interesting. I see it said neurological effects. hmmmm
  7. Thank you everyone for doing the poll and for your responses. I guess it's working for some and then not so well for others. I've also been tested for celiac and it was negative however an ALCAT food test I had said I had moderate gluten sensitivity and then had a doctor tell me that the ALCAT test was not good or valid, so, I don't know. I tried a few times to go gluten free, I never lasted more than a week and never felt better but I hear so much positive things about it that I want to give it another try and maybe this time will be the lucky charm!!! Good luck to others who are going to try and congrats to those who feel better... you are strong/sticking with it, I find it difficult, I guess I'm a southern girl and i love my biscuits and sweets and treats and I know they can be made with alternate flours, etc but I'm kinda stubborn and set in my ways although if i could potentially feel better from it, i guess its worth it!
  8. Arrrrg, I can scream and stomp with you and for you!! What a drag. I always get all worked up and excited for new appointments hoping for the best and I always get let down. Sorry yours turned out that way. I also hate paying people to tell me to eat salt and the same spill or even, " I don't know" but that don't care to help figure it out or experiment or anything. Hope next time is a better experience!!!
  9. You're nice for even asking. I think I ask redundant questions a lot and when doing so, I say, sorry to be repetative but....... haha, I think, starting new/fresh threads is good sometimes and you could always reference or attach the link to the older thread as well. Besides, unless your question/thoughts are verbatum someone else, then, it is just similar and deserves it's own post.
  10. If you have removed gluten from your diet, did it help you feel better and if so, how long before you saw any improvements?
  11. Elena, yay!!!! I'm so happy for you. I'm sure it was a long road and it must feel so good to have some relief and normalacy,
  12. Sorry about your son and his friend and your friend too. I have what I call "seizurey" head feeling, a lot. I was also diagnosed from an EEG as having seizure/migraine activity but it's not bad episodes thank goodness. I had an episode one time however where I smelt really strong burning and I went to the ER (never helpful). I hope you all get answers and feel better!
  13. Yes, here's wishing you answers and healing, hope you have a good day!
  14. My very first symptom was me blacking out at work (pre-syncope, lightheadedness, whatever you want to call it). It was all down hill from there. That was October 2010 and it wasn't until May 2011 that I had a tilt table test and was diagnosed.
  15. awww, I couldn't help but giggle when i was reading your post! It was funny. However, I am sorry that it didn't turn out as you had hoped. This is an ongoing issue for me as well. I keep going to local doctors (i'm sure some are good, but most are uninformed) and I have high hopes and keep getting let down. Hope the next one is better for you!
  16. Oh hippychic..... I just sat here and listened to that video while at work ( which I probably shouldn't have for multiple reasons) one of which is that I cried my eyes out. Thanks for posting, I likehearing things like this!
  17. thanks for the explanation, no wonder my prescription I have (and haven't taken though) is D2. My dr gave me 50,000iu to take once a week for 8 weeks. i was concerned though about gi issues from that high of a dose. I think we'll have a tanning party at your place instead just kidding but it is something I may give a try! thanks again!!
  18. Hey Seattlerain..... that is very interesting about the tanning bed. Good info that I was unaware of. Would you mind explaining to me the difference between the D3 and D2? Thank you.
  19. I'm not sure why it would still be low and it does make you question what else could be low and/or going on for it not to absorb. How does the 50iu make you feel? I have a prescrip for that as well. I am very hesitant to take it as I had read such a high does can actually harden the arteries, of course, too low is bad and so is too high, its one of those things you know. Also I was concerned about taking mine because I didn't want to make me sick at my stomach, does it do that to you?
  20. I saw one and it turned out not very helpful for me. He did cortisol testing and that was about it. Nothing became of it and he said he couldn't help me any further. I hope you have good luck with yours! I know they look for many things such as the cortisol, adrenal function, thyroid, etc.
  21. Welcome! Sorry that you live in pain each day. We can relate. Nice to meet you.
  22. Thanks Chaos! that's actually the specific brand I was looking at too. glad it helped you
  23. Has anyone used progesterone cream before? What was your experience with it? Thanks Traci
  24. Hi Jacquie, sorry you don't feel well. I had an abnormal EEG as well and I feel those feelings that you described about the elevator. I was given neurotin actually and It made my blood pressure go high so I stopped, they enver gave me anything else to try, said that I should try neurotonin again. What is TENS?
