  1. maybe. i went to the ER when having a pots episode, and my potassium was low.
  2. Do you see a cardiologist or allergist for mast cell disease? I was diagnosed with POTS in 2005. And have always wondered what caused it. I am not sure if this is mast cell related, but some of my symptoms are itching all over, facial flushing, and having attacks after eating foods with msg's.
  3. Naomi says, "In the end I was not able to pursue it because my husband's income is too high, so I was advised not to pursue it because they look at all of your assets and I would be denied". I don't think this is true. My dad's income is high, he owns 2 houses, and 40 acres he rents to a farmer... and my mom had gotten approved for disability.
  4. I was diagnosed with POTS in 2005, and at the time of dx I had lots of hair. Over the past 6 years I have noticed gradual hair loss, especially in my bangs area. Do beta blockers, and ssri's cause hair loss?
  5. I have tachycardia, mostly at night during sleep. I take a beta blocker, but upon wakening I still have tachycardia. I was wondering if anyone else has tachycardia during sleep, and what works best. And no med that causes hairloss, as I have lost lots of hair.
  6. i am currently taking isoniazid for latent tb, and yesterday when i got home from work at 4:30 pm, i went to sleep til 9:30 am this morning. is this normal? and i am still tired.
  7. Does anyone have difficulty holding head up? And what causes this? And is there anything I can do to make it better?
  8. No, nothing works for me when I get a headache.
  9. I was just curious of those of you with tachycardia, which beta blocker works best? And one that does not cause hair loss.
  10. Yes, I have had a headache everyday for the past 2 months.
  11. Also I was tested for Lyme disease a few years ago, and the Elisa test came back positve, but the Western Blot came back negative. Could you get a positive Elisa test if you have TB?
  12. Has anyone taken isoniazid because of a positive tb skin test? If so, did you have any side effects? The Dr. called me today and said she was gonna start me on isoniazid, but wanted me to come in and talk with her first. She said something about choices. I don't understand why it's not as simple as calling in a prescription. I do have POTS, and am hoping this med does not make me ill. I am finally able to work after 5 years of being sick. I am just curious, how do they even know if I have latent tb? Isn't there a blood test they can do?
  13. I took Metoprolol for 5 years. No side effects. Maybe the nausea is caused from your POTS. I was very ill in 2005, but after being put on Lexapro and Metoprolol my symptoms improved significantly.
  14. I just did a search, you can get central nervous system tb. http://www.fpnotebook.com/Lung/Neuro/CntrlNrvsSystmTbrcls.htm
  15. I just had a tb test done 6 days ago. My dr. says it's positive, and that I have to take meds for several months. I am sure it's not active, because if it was I would have a fever, night sweats, coughing, etc. I am just wondering, could this be the cause of my POTS? And is there a cure for latent tb?
  16. does anyone see tiny pin point sparks of light when looking at the sky or white background and see tv like snow at night? what causes this and is there medication i can take for this. been to eye dr.s they said my eyes look good. i do get migraines auras sometimes.
  17. oh and I get anxiety sometimes that comes out of no where. like my body is producing to much adrenaline all of a sudden. i m not stressed. is my body producing to much of something?
  18. I have tachycardia, comes all of a sudden at any time, mostly at night, i was put on a beta blocker, metaprolol, i lost lots of hair, now just started taking coreg,I guess its ok, but been feeling funny lately, like I am not getting enough blood to my brain, bu have always felt that way anyway, well, I have low BP already, wouldnt the beta blocker I take for tachycardia make this worse? and is there a bete blocker that does not cause hairloss, or lower your bp to much, but work for tachycardia. And does anyone else experience seeing tv like snow at night, or rapidly moving tiny pin point sparks of light when looking at the sky or a white wall. Dr.s say my vision is good, then what causes this? Stairing at the computer screen. And does anyone get sick when eating dairy products or eggs? I feel so nauseated after eating certain foods. I don't know what to eat.
  19. I was able to drink a bottle and a half, but then he gives me another cup to drink before the test. I had no side effects other then diarrhea, but I always have that. I will call the Dr. Monday or Tuesday to see what they found out.

  22. Is there a beta blocker that does not cause hair loss?
  23. I take lexapro and metaprolol. I was 155 lbs before these meds with lots of hair. With in a few months I went from 155 to 195 lbs. And 6 years later have lost lots of hair. Which medication do you think is causing she side effects. Hopefully not lexapro, because I have tried to quit that medication, but autonomic symptoms return when I do.
  24. My symptoms are worse at night. My heart races. I use to sleep in a recliner for the longest time.
  25. When I was diagnosed with dysautonomia I was very, very ill. I was prescribed metoprolol and lexapro. These 2 pills gave me my life back.
