  1. My daughter has just gotten toric contact lenses for astigmatism by air optics. She says they are uncomfortable. We know nothing about contacts. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  2. When I was first diagnosed I asked Grubb if POTS can kill you. He said not likely. Then I found that website, and wondered.

  4. Does anyone else have sweliing in their legs? I have swelling in my shin area on both legs. If you push on my legs, it leaves an indentation. Its been like this for 6 years. I don't recall ever mentioning this to the Dr. I remember for about a year or two, my shin (left leg) use to hurt to touch it.
  5. Dani, I take lexapro too. It is a miracle drug for me. Before lexapro I had tachycardia, low bp, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, dizzy... I was so sick I had to stay with my mom for a few months. Honestly I thought I was dying. I was put on lexapro and coreg, my symptoms gradually improved. I think the reason is, because lexapro helps higher your bp. I think it helps calm the nervous system too. I wouldn't be able to drive myself without it.
  6. I had always been healthy, my brother passed away, and was put on the max amount of zoloft, after 6 months maybe a year, I quit cold turkey, and this is when I noticed my symptoms too.
  7. I had a tooth pulled 6 days ago, and still hurts just as much as the day I had it pulled. Is this normal? Ultram isn't working.
  8. Does POTS cause pain? I am always in pain. It even hurts to walk on my feet.
  9. I went to a rheumatologist, and was diagnosed with: fibromyalgia, thoracic outlet syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome. She told me to go to http://www.arthritis.org and learn all I can. I have muscle weakness in both arms, it's uncomfortable to even wash my hair sometimes.
  10. I had some labs done for research, but don't understand the interpretation. Collagen/Epinephrine 197 H normal range is 82-159 Collagen/ADP 83 normal range is 56-110
  11. The MRI was not recent. If the neurologist explained the impression, I don't remember it. I was suppose to get a repeated MRI, but was to scared to make the appointment.
  12. I was nervous about going to the dentist a few days ago, and had been putting it off. I told him about my medical condition, and asked for the injection with no epi. I did fine. I had my wisdon teeth out about 10 years ago, and that went fine too.
  13. What does this mean? Impression: Because of distribution and number of lesions in the periventricular white matter, demylating disease cannot be excluded. Included within the differential is vasulitis and chronic ischmic chnage. And does this have anything to do with my POTS?
  14. I have heard ssome of you say the lidocain the dentist uses causes tachycardia. Is there another alternative?
  15. Dr. Grubb his Nurse Practioner, Bev Karabin are like no others! They not only have extensive knowledge and skills, but are the most compassionate medical professionals I have EVER encountered. They spend time listening to you and do their best to help ease your troubling symptoms. http://utmc.utoledo.edu/physicianapp/physingle.jsp?ID=75
  16. I had some scary side effects while taking cymbalta. I have tried just about every SSRI. Lexapro helps with my symptoms, and have had no side effects except weight gain.
  17. I seen the eye Dr. today. She dilated my eyes, and shined a very bright light into my eyes. I felt like I was gonna pass out afterwords. Kind of scared me a bit. Has this ever happened to anyone?
  18. I see rapidly moving pin point sparks of light when looking at the sky... and floaters. Sometimes my vision is blurry, sometimes it is not. Once in a while I have migraine auras. At times it looks like I am looking through fog. I see visual like snow at night. Just had my eyes dilated today, and the Dr. says my eyes look good. My vision is 20/20. I assume my symptoms are POTS related.

  22. Before being diagnosed with POTS I was so sick: dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, facial flushing, feeling hot one minute and cold the next, itching all over/rash on face, light and sound sensitivity, tachycardia, low bp, burning in my arms and chest, blurry vision, headaches, difficulty breathing, feeling of a lump in my throat. I was put on lexapro and a beta blocker, and started to feel so much better. How is does lexapro help? Does it make your bp higher? Also I tkae an allergy pill everyday, this helps for some reason.
