  1. I take mag. powder in the morning and before bed. My doctor told me the amount to take. It has been great. So important for many things and helpful for relaxation of the muscles.
  2. I wouldn't go by that info. Just as with others, they forget that you can have high bp also. What is also toubling is that they do not list any supplements to help. I know they are important. Thankfully there are doctors that know more about POTS than this.
  3. I have improved so much with my supplements. We do have to find the right doctors right doses etc of everything. Supporting our body with various things it needs is important for healing. The right blood tests are important too. It takes a lot of work but I have been doing great, from not being able to lift my head from the pillow to now walking and doing things, it is wonderful. Lipoic Supreme has been a huge help. When we are ill, we get depleted of many nutrients.
  4. If you have a doctor that knows how supplements can help you can ask about DRibose, B12, CoQ10, etc. I have CFS and POTS, fatigue is rarely a problem with my supplements. Our bodies need so many things, we have to figure out what they need.
  5. I am so sorry. It is bad enough to be ill and to be told you are making it up, drunk.... just shameful! I can't beleive so many doctors are unwilling to learn about things they do not know about. There are some good doctors so that is good, just not enough. I am always shocked how most docs do not know how supplements help so much. But, I have a good doctor so I just hope to keep improving. I guess you will have to find another doctor while you are at college. It is dangerous to have useless ones. I am really sorry. Maybe if doctors could simply learn to GOOGLE.
  6. They may work better for low bp. My bp is high. The knee highs are fine but when I tried the full length, I got VERY ill. They work for lots of people I am sure.
  7. Taking magnesium is great. I take powdered mag. twice a day and I eat a banana eat day in my smoothie for potassium.
  8. Gluten can be a problem for the nervous system if you are sensitive. I am gfree for POTS. Doctors should ALL know about Alpha Lipoic Acid. It is helpful to the nerves. There is a ton of info on gfree and ALA for the nerves. I take many antioxidents, but ALA is one of the best and most prescribed.
  9. I have had general aneth. twice since I had POTS. I will be having it again in a month. I do fine, hard to wake up, but many people have that, pretty common. I just make sure they leave me alone and my hubby is always with me. I don't let them bother me with ice etc.. Just let me SLEEP and come "to" peacefully. I wear my eye mask and do fine. I take deep breaths to get lots of oxygen. Then I take is easy for a day or so, easy to do when you have POTS! I hope everything goes very smoothly for the surgery.
  10. There are good brands also, and the right doses to work. I hope he knows! Let me know!
  11. I hope she continues a steady improvement!
  12. No, no diabetes. It is good for the nerves, diabetic or whatever so it is really good with the neuropathy with POTS. I do not have sm. fiber or peripheral neuropathy. It is good for the nerves that tell the muscles etc, to pump the blood. It has helped me with my POTS, just wanted to mention it. Maybe you can find a doctor that knows about supplements. Very good antioxident. Antioxidents are good for the nerves. Keeps them healthy. I take a good brand of Lipoic Supreme. Pills, not IV. I have two integrative MD's that tell me how much and how often to take, brand etc. I have a schedule of supplements. Three times a day I take them. MANY. I am improving.
  13. Seratonin gets low with illess. You can get that checked. I did. I take 5HTP adn SAMe. My two integrative MD's tell me what brands and amounts to take with all of my supplements.
  14. Has your doctor told you about helping the neuropathy with Alpha Lipoic Acid? Google it, it really is great.
  15. Everyone can be so different. It depends what you need. I cannot take chemicals, prescriptions. The natural compounds are always easy for me. As I said, my integrative MD's guide me with it all. I do not take any without them knowing. You do have to always start with a lose dose and hopefully ask a knowledgeable MD. I know they usually don't know about supplements, but some do and hopefully more will.
  16. I take 5HTP in the morning and at night. SAMe at noon. My doctors guide my brands and dosages, schedule etc. No side effects at all. LOVE them. Have you googled and read up on them? I read about them in my books also.
  17. I love 5HTP and SAMe. Good for many things. You can't just stop taking a medicine that you are on though. Ask your doctor if you are on a SSRI. I only take supplements to replenish things I need. Works great for me. We are all different.
  18. Carniclear, (l carnitine liquid) is very helpful for brain fog. Testing for b12 is important too.
  19. Yes, it was on the news, an interview with Dr. Klimas from Florida. I sure hope this will help the doctors that have hurt people by saying it was in thier heads all these years. Very shameful. I hope everyone will now get serious and work together. I have had it for 18 years.
  20. Mine is high. I wish it was talked about more. Many docs have no idea POTS can have high bpressure and it is not good. Same feeling, faint, lightheaded etc.
  21. I used to have heart and chest pain. I saw the cardio. to make sure all was fine. It is good now, hardly happens. I take CoQ10 and magnesium among other things.. That helped. I hope you have a good doctor visit.
  22. Here is the link for Phoniex Rising, very good place to learn. http://forums.aboutmecfs.org/forum.php Yes, doctors should know to test for Epstein Barr. Just a simple blood test. They should test for many things including Vit. D, Vit B12 etc. There are other viruses that could be a part also but not commonly tested.
  23. Great idea AC in a bubble! Neat photo.
