  1. My knee highs are Jobst brand.... less that $50. I can only wear knee highs as I said above. Good brand, price and the lady at the pharmacy measred me. They sell a lot of them, med. supplies too. I had ordered full length for about $75 online. They made me so ill. Everyone is different. My bp is not low so that is one reason, but not all people can tolerate full to the waist.
  2. I just went to a good pharmacy with several good brands. They measured me for the hose. Then we bought them. I don't think you need a prescription. They are online too, lots of good brands. Was a waste for me, I get very ill with the full length hose. Horribly POTSY. I can wear the knee highs fine though.
  3. Very scary, I have had only two zig zag auras, no headache. The rest of the migraines were very painful. I don't have them now thank goodness.
  4. Good luck finding someone to help you, it does take some searching!!!!!
  5. I have to take Thyroid and my choles. was high. Have you had your hormones checked to see if they are balanced? They have a lot to do with cholesterol as well as the heart, etc
  6. Yes, supplements that make symptoms better. I don't take prescriptions, just bioedentical hormones and a little bit of bpressure med. My bp was high, it is good now. I am using less med now thank goodness. Many people have to use prescriptions of course, but there are so many supplements that help the brain fog, deficienties, and other symptoms like heart rate etc.
  7. Write down each symptom/problem and ask if he knowsow can help each one. My doctor helps my symptoms and the autonomic neuropathy many of us have. All with supplements. Supplements will support our body and keep us as healthy as possible as we heal. Ask about blood tests to help you know what you need also.
  8. When I had bleph. they told me to use the wipes to wash the eyes to get the debris from the lash line. (Lid scrubs) I guess you have an infection with yours. Usually it is just a matter of cleansing the eye lash areas.
  9. There are so many antiobiotics and they vary SO much. Everyone reacts differently, I found what I can take. Some are SOOOO strong and hard to take. I have a list and never take the bad ones.
  10. POTS is so much more that BP and heart rate problems. So many symptoms.
  11. What a shame you MIL can't tell everyone to live better and get insurance. SO important to value your health and prevent problems. I am so sorry about your MIL and very sorry for what is coming for you all. You will go through a lot, so hard. Just sending hugs.
  12. Todd, that makes me angry too! BP needs to be left out of POTS. Mine goes up and down. The heart rate and other problems are the diagnosis.
  13. I was wondering also, what he suggested would help you with that.
  14. I guess they can be different. I was lucky to find one years ago when docs were not helping or believing in CFS. Now I live in another state and I have another great integrative doc. YES, good supplements are super expensive. But they have done a lot to help me. I believe in supporting my body so it doesn't have to struggle more than neccessary. I order most of mine as long as they are the brands she likes. She looks carefully into each one. I sure hope you find a great doctor that knows about POTS.
  15. Oh 78 degrees is really hot for sure. I do fine at 75 thankfully. Our new house always seems cool at 75. I used to have it lower in the house before this one.
  16. I started my supplements and felt better as I kept adding what I needed for symptoms. In August, I stopped gluten. I think I notice a difference but it is hard to tell what helped or if it was mostly supplements. I have read a lot about gluten and the nervous system so I just think it cannot hurt. I have improved so much. I just try to do all I can for my nervous system in every way.
  17. I had trouble with veins before POTS and now with POTS. Lots of people have that problem. I make sure to drink a LOT when I have to have blood drawn, iv's, etc. It has helped me a lot. One nurse put my hand/arm down and got the blood FAST that way. Some nurses are super fast, some cannot find veins.
  18. If you research Gluten, it can be a problem for the nervous system and no way to test, unless you have Celiac. I stopped eating it just to be safe in case I am sensitive. When you cannot even walk, just flex your feet to exercise your calves and promote circulation. Point your toes and flex, just a few then more later. I do toe raises, several a day for my calves. While sitting you can use bands or little weights for your arms. Just a few. While in bed you can carefully pull a leg up, knee bent, hold to stretch, then do the other. Just move....moving is what we were made to do and now it is so hard. But just move anyway you can. I also do leg lifts from the chair. Front leg lifts. On good days I can do a lot. Eliptical machine, leg lifts while holding the wall, push ups against a desk etc also. The "push ups" are great for the core! Circulation is important for our nerves. Flexing is the main exercise my Doctor told me to always do. That is back when I could not even move or be too dizzy.
  19. Ha, I just looked at my post. It said I have a great doc for hormones so I have no more hommones! I meant no more MIGRAINES! Corrected that. Integrative MD's are so good.
  20. This is the question you had, right? I pasted this below from one place I have bookmarked. Just not enough oxygen in the brain, we all know how that is. Syncope happens so your brain can get oxygen when you faint or lie down. When the level is not good enough, the brain tells us thank goodness! Then we sit or lie down. BP varies, doesn't have to be high or low. The brain is the most metabolically active organ in the body and requires a steady supply of oxygen and glucose to maintain healthy function. Although the brain represents only 1-2% of the body's mass, it utilizes 20% of the body's oxygen consumption and 15% of cardiac output. Our brains are thus highly dependent on adequate blood circulation to maintain our sense of health and well being. The thought process, regulation of body temperature, hormone release, and many autonomic systems can be impaired by loss of proper blood pressure control. Our survival is as dependent on adequate blood pressure regulation as on the fundamental process of breathing.
  21. With our autonomic system haywire, nothing is odd really, ha. People usually do not ever have to think about these things.
  22. yes, you can have dry skin and sweat. I do not sweat either and I have to stay cool. Very scary not to sweat.
