Poohbear Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Oh my....I have to laugh. Thought I'd share this with you. It's really bad poetry but maybe it will make someone laugh like it did me.Several times lately when I'm coming around from passing out I hear this voice in my head saying, "I do not like it here nor there, I do not like this anywhere" so that's where this started. I do not like my syncopeI do not like it can?t you see?I do not like it here nor thereI do not like it anywhereI don?t like falling in the tubI don?t like paging Dr. GrubbI don?t like feeling tachyI don?t like when my brain is whackyI do not like it here nor thereI do not like it anywhere.I do not like to hit the groundI do not like that loud loud sound.TTFN,Poohbear Quote
Sunfish Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 pooh - i LOVE it!!!i vote you send it to michelle for the next newsletter. and that you definitely show it to dr. grubb at some point - as a writer himself i know he'll think it's grand. (for that matter any good-spirited doc would get a kick out of it i think...)thanks for sharing....it gave me SUCH a smile & chuckle! melissa Quote
Sunfish Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 okay...i don't want to steal the show, but i couldn't resist chiming in (and this is MUCH more fun than finishing my paper for my not-so-favorite prof's class). i diverged from the pattern a little but i'm thinking we could write an entire book no problem....pooh this is more fun than i've had in days...thanks girl:-)I don't like pokes & prods & pinsNor falling on my knees & shinsI don't like turning black & blueNor being dizzy, how 'bout you?I don't like being here nor thereWith few docs helping anywhereI don't like missing friends & funAt home in bed not in the sun Quote

I had to share it with my daughter who shares this condition, and with my 2 other children who have witnessed this condition. We have been extreme Dr. Suess fans here for years. We have many of his books, including this thick one with several stories and the history behind them. It was also funny to me because with my 2 younger children, as they have witnessed me faint, witnessed me with low blood pressure, witnessed me in tears after surgery...I would always look at them and say, "I do not like green eggs and ham...I do not like them Sam I am"...referring to whatever symptom I was dealing with at the time along with a pout. I also love your sign off and username. My daughter who has this condition has been hospitalized, had surgeries and been ill many times. She is usually has a very bubbly, happy, bouncy personality...so each time she is is sick I give her the pout and say Oh no, Tigger lost her bounce. I have bought her a Tigger for each hospital stay, surgery etc. She has a whole collection of Tiggers, the clothes, the watch etc. I joke with her ok no more gettin sick I am runnin out of Tiggers! Take Care! The poem is great...we all loved it! Quote
Poohbear Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 Glad you got a laugh out of this! Sunfish, I certainly DO NOT feel like you're "stealing the show"My vote would be for others to add to it and then Michelle put it in the next news letter...the more the merrier!!I hope you were able to get some work done on your paper. I don't want you to have to try to explain to your professor that you were working on a Dr. Seuss poem hehe Thanks! You guys keep me smiling more than you know! Quote
corina Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 ohhhh you guys really make me smile. great start of my day!!!! Corina Quote

pamela Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I just woke the baby laughing to loud! That is the funniest, most educational, description of us ever. Is it o.k. to print if not then I won't. See I have to write my symptoms down for my appt in 3hrs and my brain keeps losing trac. So if I could use your DR Zeus to (yawl's Dr Zeus)explain my symptoms then maybe I might be more concise.I willbe sure to acknowledge the authors of each stanzaPlease..Pam Quote

I have a migraine so I'm back to bed soon.I personally don't care if anyone prints this off. This really would be cute as a fund raiser T-shirt. Wonder how cost-effective it would be? I don't know though...could there be copyright issues with Dr. Seuss??? Quote

This is going to sound weird but they make more sense to me than any other poem I have ever read. Maybe it is just because I can relate so well. Oh, and I think all of them deserve to go in the newsletter! Quote
