HopeSprings
My Dr. says I'm due for a tetanus shot - what to do? I'm particularly scared of this one because of nervous system association.

Yolaclover
I had a tetanus shot right after my pots started. Personally, I feel it did not "help" my situation.
HopeSprings
Clover... Mmmm, trying to read between the lines. Do you think it may have worsened your situation?
icesktr189
I had it and did fine!
yogini
I felt dizzy for a couple hours after, but fine after that. In general vaccines haven't made me worse. I was hesitant at first, but in my book it is better than getting another condition like tetanus, flu, etc. on top of POTS!
Katybug
My tetanus shot didn't bother me at all (that was last year but I had all my POTS symptoms then) and I just had my first flu shot ever last week and that went fine too. janiedelite
I never had a problem with immunizations. Once I had a near-syncopal episode after a flu shot, but I've also had a dozen other flu shots without any problem. I've also had my tetanus shot done since POTS and had no problem. sandymbme
I am getting pretty close to being due for one, but I wouldn't hesitate. Unfortunately we can't live in a bubble, and you have to weigh out risk/benefit for many of these decisions. I have had flu and pneumonia vaccines with no issues, and I figure it is far better to get the vaccine than to get tetanus. That said, if you have had major issues with vaccines in the past, make sure you discuss that with your doctor before having it.Sandy
HopeSprings
Wow - that's all very reassuring. Thanks.
