  1. My decision to smoke in the past was kind of the same... I chose to risk my health to feel better with my POTS and would do it again. Its definently better to have a quality of life than a quanity, especially if you are depressed and anxious. However, if the medication is making you have that I would stop it. I can handle dizziness and lightheadedness, even though they stink, but to feel anxious and depressed everyday is no way to live.
  2. I had my dad and brother move in with me. Before that I lived with my MIL and she works at home so I always had someone with me at all times
  3. I get them bad at night when I over due it during the day. . its like my body is punishing me for pushing too hard.
  4. A hospital can detect one really easily... the sooner its found the better! I hope everything is okay with you
  5. I have a normal sized hear ( countless ECHOS done) and they have never said anything wrong about the workings of my heart before.
  6. I actually feel best laying on my left side, its the right side I have issues with. I also can lay flat or I get extremely out of breath. I have to have pillows under my head and chest.

  8. Is it red and swollen? That could be a blood clot I would call your doctor if it hurts that bad! Good luck
  9. momtoguiliana- Oh I am definently talking about physically, not mentally LOL. That is very true that most in their early 20's are not ready for children, but I just could not imagine going through all that later in life when I have even less energy! I am very lucky to have such a supportive man or else I have no clue what I would do. I am contemplating having another in a couple years but not sure just yet. Its such a gamble on your health, but it is so worth it.
  10. I get surges which feel like what other mentioned and then I have other times where there is just too much adrenaline in my system that I dont notice until I lay down. Mornings are hard because my bp is low, so my body sends out adrenaline to keep me upright. I am getting my daughter ready and fed and then when she goes down for a nap, I lay down. That is when I really notice the adrenaline.
  11. Oh both of my cardiologists told me that if you are 100 percent you want children, to have them early. Its not going to be any easier on your body as you age. I was 20 when I gave birth and it was still very hard physically... I couldnt imagine doing it at 30 plus!
  12. I was diagnosed with pots at 18 and had my first at 20. the pregnancy was not bad until my third trimester.... however, my pots was a lot more under control. after my pregnancy, I did okay for about 6 months and then went downhill fast. I am now bed/couch bound and my family helps out a ton. make sure that if you decide to have kids, you prepare for the worst. however, I know a lot of people who just went back to their pre pots phasr. just know that it is sooooo much work being a mom. good luck! and sorry if this made no sense I am writing off my phone
  13. No way would I ever drive the way I am right now...It would seriously be safer for a drunk to drive my car than me. I dont even feel safe to drive in my neighborhood to get the mail. I am too dizzy, vertio, lighheaded 24/7 that I can hardly walk. let alone operate a car. I miss it soooo much though.
  14. I had no nausea, just the extreme shakes, which they said was normal. they gave me something to stop it
  15. thank you!! thankful.. I have heard of that med, but what does it do?? I am willing to try anything at this point! the lexapro is a little under 400/month! ughhh thanks again and I hopr everyone has a symptom free holiday!
  16. my reconsideration was denied todqy, as I expected it would be. does anyone know how long it will take to get my court date?? I am going to contact my lawyer today. I cant believe in janurary it is one year since I applied... wish I could say it went by fast haha
  17. Oh dont get me wrong I am super happy about Mayo, but its not a guarantee right now... the insurance agent also told me it could take up to 1 year to approve the request but I am happy that this cardio is willing to help. Its just he was my 3rd one and i keep having what if thoughts if I dont get into Mayo
  18. I was on lexapro, but my insurance stopped covering it and its way too expensive it was really helping, so it stunk to stop taking it. Allergies are still bad, but I have tried almost every allergy med and they dont really help. I know I have severe grass and hay... Thanks again for listening, it is just one of those days and the stress of christmas is crazy right now. I just want it to be Janurary already! Hope everyone is holding up
  19. My cardiologist pretty much fired me (he was really sweet about it and basically told me there was nothing more he could do for me). He told me he would write a letter to my insurance to get me to Mayo. Dr. Goodman also said he would write a letter to my insurance stating he was the only specialist in my area that can help me. I am happy about that, but what more can he do for me? I have tried almost every med and nothing has been working. I know he can do more testing there, but most of it there is no meds for.... ugh not a fun day
  20. my doctor told me general was preferred for pots becausr they can control blood pressure and heart rate better. I had general during pots and did fine now the morphine was a different story... oh everytime I go in under general I spend one.night and day in the hospital just to be safe. hope you do well
  21. I was doing great with it until my insurance stopped covering it and I had to stop (WAY too expensive). I hope if I can get approved for disability and change insurances, then i will jump right back on taking it!
  22. I didnt mean to offend anyone either I think its all just under the dysautonomnia umbrella
  23. I was diagnosed with this at 18 and my mom was diagnosed with POTS and OI at age 50... definently something genetic, just dont know what! I am hoping my daughter doesnt get it. ... I know there a quite a few on here that have POTS and so do their children.
  24. I couldnt handle Zyrtec either, but did fine with Claratin... maybe you could take Claratin or Allegra?
  25. Jenglynn- I know that the report says that "in the absence..." but I have seen two cardiologists who told me you can definently have both at the same time. I was a caregiver for a woman who had both also
