Linj10 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Does anyone take, bak with, or use coconut oil in their everyday life? Quote
puppylove Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I put it on the ends of my hair so it's not frizzy . Quote
Guest maia Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I eat it, put it in smoothies, and make soap with it. Its good stuff. Quote
Relax86 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Recently tried to add it as part of my diet....just like the taste of olive oil better. Right now it's better if I eat things that my taste buds don't oppose. It's on my radar though of things to try Quote
Kellysavedbygrace Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I just started using about a month ago. I use it as a natural moisturizer on my lips and skin and cook w it and eat it plain. (in small amounts). I read about it helping in Alzheimers patients and decided it can't hurt. Plus I Love the smell of it. When I use lots ofit I seem to feel a little improvement. Quote
yogini Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I went through a phase where I tied to incorporate it, but could not. I did make tasty chocolate truffles with it, but I found the taste a little heavy for everyday cooking. Quote
westernmass Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I use coconut oil on my skin (it actually seems to help my acne on my face and otherwise is a nice moisturizer) and occasionally will eat a scoop out of the jar since I have heard of many health benefits. I've tried cooking with it but find for anything other than sweets it's too much- I prefer olive oil in a stir fry, for example. Quote
Batik Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I use it on my skin and hair. The Alzheimers thing was only one patient and a bit of theory, wasn't it? At the dose they suggest, it's a relatively high cost and high number of calories, neither of which have really been possible for me. Interesting, though. Quote
Kellysavedbygrace Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Yes, good points B.And I sure dont need extra calories. Quote
FarmerAmy Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 My doctor recommended that I use coconut oil and coconut milk as they are both anti-fungal. I haven't started using it yet, though. Quote
