  1. Melissa, I'll be keeping you in my prayers....may the surgery go smoothly and may you have a quick recovery! You are soo brave and such an inspiration to all of us. God bless you!
  2. Sue..sorry to hear about your mom...i'll be keeping her in my prayers. This year hasn't started off the best yet for me either.
  3. Just wondering how i can get an appointment with Dr Grubb??
  4. So my roommates and I were playing cards last night and one of them started quoteing Darla from Finding nemo. My other roommate couldn't remember who she was, so i started to tell her and meant to say... Darla was fish killer.... and instead of that said " she was a kish filler". as soon as i said it my roommates cracked up and i turned soo red.
  5. well i was 25 when i started getting sick..it was july 2003. It wasn't till over a year later in Sept 2004 when i was dx with NCS, then a month later was dx with POTS. So i've had NCS/POTs for aabout 3 years. My symptoms are up and down all the time.. things seem to be getting worse.
  6. I can tolerate it pretty well. actually i don't think i could function well without it. Caffiene doesn't have that jittery effect on me and it doesn't keep me awake...it has more of a calming effect on me like Nina.
  7. I'm on norpace.. i've been on it for a year and a half. I haven't had too many side effects with it
  8. I've had the same thing happen, my lip will start quievering and it feels weird when it does that but i don't get the pins and needles feeling.
  9. 1. not sure 2. i've been taking both florinef and midodrine for 2 years now 3. the chills haven't gone away for me, but they're not as bad as they were when i first started taking midodrine 4 i don't pass out as much.. i started with a higher dose of 10mg 3x's a day, but then it made my bp too high so my dr cut the dose in half.. so now i just take 5mg 3x's a day. 5. not sure 6. i never heard of using midodrine to help with migraines... I get migraines all the time but am only on the midodrine to raise my bp.
  10. I'm in the migraine club.. I've been getting migrianes for as long as i can remember.. since i was a kid... and i also get other kind of headaches on top of that.
  11. I was just wondering if anyone else was taking Pamelor? I've never heard of it before but my neurologist recently prescribed it for my migraines. so i've been taking it for about 2 weeks and haven't had much side effects except that it makes me tired. So far so good. So i just wanted to know of anyone else's experience with Pamelor.
  12. Just wanted to say i hope you feel better soon... I've been fighting an icky cold/sinus thing too..
  13. It was helping for awhile, but recently it hasn't been helping. In the beginning i had more problems tolerating it. It does make my blood pressure low, but i'm used to it cause my blood pressure is normally low anyway.
  14. hey i was just wondering if anyone else was taking Zanaflex for migraines?? If you are, has it helped? My Neurologist put me on Zanaflex a few months ago. I started out with a small dose and am now on 2mg 4x's a day. So far it's helped some but lately it hasn't been helping. All it's doing right now is making me have to sleep alot.
  15. usually i feel it when i get tachy, the higher it gets the harder it is for me to breathe.... but there are some times when it's really high and i don't feel anything but those times are rare.
  16. I'll be praying for you Melissa.. hope this treatment helps you!
  17. I've been debating about it too for awhile until last weekend, i blacked out at the mall and scared everyone to death including myself. So i decided that its time to get a medical id bracelet and ordered one a few days ago. On mine i have my name and an emergancy number, then Neurocardiogenic Syncope/ POTS.
  18. After my time in the hospital last May, my cardiologist said i'm not allowed to drive anymore because of the risk of me passing out while i'm driving. I tried to explain to him that ive never passed out or had issues while i was driving, but that didn't work. What i don't get is that when i was dx with POTS no one ever mention anything about the driivng issue, and they still let me drive. It was orginally suppose to be for the first 6 months, but during those 6 months if i had any episodes or even symptoms then it would start over again. So i don't know when i'll be driving again. It does still make me mad cause i really loved driving and miss it alot. And now i have to depend on other people to get me places which just gets frustrating after awhile.
  19. My POTS symptoms get worse when i don't take Florinef, so i don't think my cardologist will take me off of it. About trying Zoloft or Celexa, I'm already on Paxil to slow my heart rate. My neuroligst is concerened that if we try a new medicine that it will cause more problems because i'm already on so much major medicines.
  20. Poohbear, I hope you're feeling better soon!!
