  1. ok the first link did not make a lick of sense to me. Too tired to try the second one. but I am with EM. What the heck does COMPUTER USE have to do with melatonin?
  2. yay! Morgan...happy healing!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Sending thoughts and prayers to you Angelika!
  4. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Glad you have a doctor that believes you, wants to help you and wants you to choose your medicines (My doc is like that and wish ALL DOCTORS WERE) They are only PRACTITIONERS and we do NOT have to follow their instructions if it is not agreeable to our bodies. Sounds like you've had years of struggles as well. I hope you get some relief and at least, some answers of specificities to help you make wise choices. Keep us posted. Soph
  5. Morgan I hope your surgery went well and was Uneventful and you get the relief you need, ASAP.
  6. Angelika called me but it was very brief. Been admitted to hospital but still feeling horrible as of her call. Will let you know if she gets some real answers. Left side pain nobody can figure out and resting HR 140 even supine.
  7. Sending healing energy and prayers to you, your dad and the family.
  8. it's common knowledge Joe Jackson routinely beat Michael as a child before performances. HE HAD NO CHILDHOOD folks! MJ had his fathers nose which led to the first plastic surgery as he saw his father when he looked in the mirror. He then obviously suffered body dysmorphic disorder but plastic surgeons were offered HUGE sums of money to disfigure him THose who tried to be honest and warn Michael of addictions, he avoided..he SURROUNDED himself by enablers who only told him what he wanted to hear. He was a geninus in what he did for pop music and appealed world wide to all cultures. EVEN MORE SICKENING is now that he is dead, the one kid (chandler I think was his name) NOW ADMITS Michael never molested him. I never believed he did either or parents could be blamed for pimping their kids out to stay at MJ's house again and again. Michael is guilty of making many poor decisions(choosing to be famous for freak behavior stunts, surgeries, people on his payroll, drugs) and avoided those that loved him and wanted his welfare looked after. Also disgusted is Joe Jackson going to BET awards show (which I did not watch but folks black and white were HORRIFIED how he was remembered, some insulting skits) And Joe promoted his new record album. How Janet Jackson maintained her dignity to thank everybody for their prayers w/o just cussing out the audience and her peers is another mystery. Joe Jackson's press conference I just heard part of but he is LOVING THIS LIMELIGHT and regaining control of his now, dead son's memory. Had Michael not be beating into performing (like a great, old soul I might add) he never would've been stuck in Peter Pan syndrome hanging out with little kids. I've said enough on this and am trying to avoid the media most of the time on this. Ed McMahon a war heroe and great tv ambassador is forgotten. And poor Farah quickly got swept under the rug once Michael's death was announced (It was reported on TWITTER 90 minutes before news confirmed it) Sure we knew Farah's death was coming but the reason every nuance and dirty detail of MJ is out there is it was out of the blue. Also he did so many controversial things that the media and folks who watch this junk will lap up every bit of drama as this is all slowly, and painfully played out!! I will not give iti my energy to help the sick cable shows sell ratings. It's all quite sad.
  9. Another tip BEFORE getting in the car open at least two doors wide open (I realize this means walking around car in parking lot if alone but when you get in, it helps heat dissapate than just getting in and running AC. Also rolling down windows is helpful but opening the doors BEFORE getting in car helps the most. LET a door on each side be open at least 10 seconds. You will feel the heat come out of the car. If you have a hatchback, open the trunk/hatch area. THAT will allow the heat to escape first, too. Also aluminum shields. Leave house with tall plastic glass of ice and it will melt into water. Good luck. I try not to go out in the heat but the DEWPOINT is what gets to me. humidity is just PART of the deal. Dewpoints above 65 are tough and in 70's just too much. also keep a white towel over steering wheel and seat if you have black interior, while out of the car.
  10. I know one of these has something to do with asthma. http://www.alerchek.com/allergy-testing-products/ Have you seen this site?
  11. thanks for the explanation. Now I get it..sort of. But I am with Earth Mother to hopefully try something else. Indeed, night shade vegetables make many feel worse. Good luck with this diet challenge.
  12. Dont' read here much and have no clue what people eat. WHY would you eat nothing but potatoes? A high carb diet is HORRIBLE for autonomic stuff for a host of reasons I thought most all patients knew????? Been under weather myself and no time to explain. Carbs are MAJOR vasodilator and can make us sick after eating. I need small protein meals. All potatoes it not healthy. period. Addison's is a stress disorder of adrenals and potatoes can't be good for that either. Carb diets not good for adrenals.
  13. Amen to what Rachel said! Not having great week myself. Thoughts of support for you too in ur situation
  14. Interesting Article!!!!!!!!!!! But I hated the title of it. Once things were explained, it was not "panic attacks" at all. WOW. Glad she had a savvy doc who called a more astute one to get ANSWERS. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Hello Fbook gives me too much info about others, and since I rarely get out, my page looks like somebody else's stuff is always going on (which it is) For those of us who just want to connect briefly, has anybody joined twitter? It's odd talking in 140 characters or less but is fun. But I must warn you, I do not follow folks that tweet 100-130 times a day! too much for me. But it's a great way to keep in touch and I also help promote some mom and pop businesses/music in my area. And it's a fun distraction if you follow the right people in your area. I can get most all my news and weather, restaurant & sports info from Twitter. Terribly over hyped in the media (what's new) but many critical stories have broken in twitter, i.e, the plane crash on the Hudson broke on Twitter, as did the first photo of people standing on the wing. Course many spam on twitter for businesses but you can CHOOSE who to follow and unfollow quite easily.
  16. I'm with EarthMother. Get a new doc. This guy needs to be fired immediately. If somebody would've asked me if I had a gun in the house I would've said "Yes, I have a few, but hope to be able to get rid of them when I graduate from ANGER MANAGEMENT classes."
  17. i get this once in a great while just on its own. Perfumes and cig smoke bother me (like walking into a store with smokers outside) or perfume soap areas (laundry soap and air freshener junk are the worst so I use UNSCENTED stuff but the store aisle of this, bother me) THAT said years ago I thought I might have asthma but my rare and intermittent problems are getting air IN my lungs, not OUT as in an asthmatic. My ANS doc thinks it's an upper airway response but it just happens to randomly, might not get a spell for months and then a few times in a week. after this I can sound wheezy in my breathing or slightly hoarse but both of those things ago away in a few minutes. I hope you get to the root of your cause since it happens routinely.
  18. Apierpoint for the record, you do not need to QUOTE EVERYBODY in their entirety. It makes for tedious reading and all you have to do is mention the name of whom you are addressing. Also uses up more space on this site. and some of us get very tired reading more text than we have to to make a point. THAT said, i have heard of more lives RUINED with ablations in the last 11 years than helped when ANS problems are the underlying issue. I would also see that doc at Mayo as Poohbear has indeed, been dealing with this stuff a long time. Angelika i also can have high resting HR but when I change positions, it zooms higher, kind of like your TTT showed you did. AP This is all so complicated so please do your homework and do not just take the word of one ANS specialist. you only have ONE BODY and do not jump into something that can NOT be undone. Good luck.
  19. Thankful Hope you get help from abdominal compression. I can't wear them in this freaking heat/high dewpoints. I am warm in the house in halter dress...sigh..but compression works great in cool weather. With tall ceilings and old windows. AC on 80 during day (LOTS of fans) and 77 or 76 night. i am VERY heat intolerant, moreso than many. good luck
  20. Nicotine patches have been helpful to some patients with CFS which we now know is often O.I. based. Nicotine is a constrictor which we need. YEARS ago a girl in an egroups smoked and it HELPED her..she was a fainter and smoked like, I forget 6-8 cigs a day. She knew it was a bad habit but it helped her stand up and keep her BP boosted. I also remember I had a situation 8 years ago where my ANS doc said nicotine would help but did not want me to smoke and knew the patches were to expensive to even try! and he was only half kidding..but if you know about constrictors as opposed to vasodilators, you get the example.
  21. Sorry for the rude ER treatment. It's amazing they are in that line of work FOR A CAREER and treat people so horribly. Can't they at least PRETEND TO BE NICE AND CARE. So widespread...pitiful
  22. Yes all people of all races get autonomic dysfunction! All living beings have an autonomic nervous system. I used to belong to an egroups YEARS ago and at least one woman there was black and had this. Also FYI, non humans get this problem of dysautonomia, goats, dogs, cats, etc.
  23. quick off topic digression Earth mother: I wish you lived near me, I have such difficulty learning LAYERS in photos shop..still using 2.0 and books do not help me. Indeed, Tearose, if somebody can photo chop you into things, do that. A good savvy person can make the photos look genuine:)
  24. haven't check recently but for years have LOW BP when lying down..but some of the other neurological quirks I have...so maybe it was a poor description but I got what my doctor said. True Shy Drager RARELY happens after years of POTS symptoms since I don't have the immediately BP drop when upright. I just have HR rising but sometimes BP spikes then settles down. I read up again on SDS and forget now but I have MANY symptoms except the "key ones" thus my doctor saying VARIATIONS on a THEME. Please don't anybody think that means I HAVE IT..just some weird things that mimic it (off balance sometimes, horrible visual graying/black out of vision) but I forget the other things. But I can feel better after coffee sometimes...sometimes i get a second wind LATE at night before bedtime. Thus adding to the WIRED but very tired feeling.
  25. TeaRose Yee gads!! NOT FUN. glad things are straightening out I am sorry you are missing the graduation but have somebody take pictures or a Flip Camera for you. not the same I know but I would not go either. No way. Sometimes we can push but often we can NOT. This is a real "Not" for you right now. (Pun intended...knot, not, get it? OK, sometimes I just amuse myself) Thoughts and prayers to youl
