Evergreen
My heart rate when laying down is always above 75. Usually in the 90s or up. Is this normal with POTS?My wife's heart rate is in the 50s so mine just sounds so fast compared to hers. Also does anyone else get 24/7 head pressure? Like your head feels so heavy you can barely lift it?
Praxxtor
My resting heart rate hovers inbetween 40-50 bpm. I have POTS.

Bigskyfam
My head is heavy when the weather is bad, I've slept too long. It was constantly an issue until I put my bed on a tilt for 18 months. I've been sleeping evenly for 6 mos now with a bit of pillow propping
bigtrouble
These days, it is 75 bpm while in bed. 80 to 90 bpm while seated. However, I am taking beta blockers (bisoprolol, 1.25 mg).At the hospital, it was 80 bpm while in bed and if I lifted my head as to sit, it was 104 to 112 bpm without the beta blocker.I need to measure it some more while standing and while not on beta blockers to see how my body is behaving nowadays. fitnesskelly
Around 50, give or take 5 BPM.
cmreber
My resting heartrate is usually around 60-70 or so. When I'm sitting up doing stuff, it seems to be around 70-80. Walking around doing things I sometimes get up around 110-115. More strenuous stuff or stairs it goes around 130. I am on a Beta Blocker, but even when I can feel that my heart is racing or pounding when it gets up 90s and above, I don't really have the POTsy symptoms I used to. I did get one of those Fitbits and it's been really interesting to see what my heartrate does throughout the day and night!

Faye
I am not confirmed with POTS, under going test, however my cardiologist is leaning in that direction. I am on a low dose of beta blocker and wearing compression socks and it is better than a few weeks back. But I was so excited to see someone posted what has become my new rates..60-70 laying down,70-80 sitting and working, walking or standing too long 110-118, going up the stairs in my house 130 in a heart beat literally. Although I wish no one to feel the high end rates for simple walking up stairs, it is nice to know I am not the only one ....
tampafd
My normal is 58-62 laying down, 70's sitting and 84-100 standing
m@t
Mine is between 35 and 45 and has dipped down to 29 on a 24 hour monitor. It's not gone up much since my symptoms got worse and I have stopped cycling, swimming and running )
bigtrouble
m@t, athletes sometimes have very low heart rates (~40 bpm), so either you are an athlete or you are in great shape. It is impressive.
m@t
bigtrouble, I was once quite fit (not thin) but alas the last 18 months or so that has come screaming to a halt with these random symptoms. ) I think a fair degree of genetics comes in to play for me. sue1234
My sitting is usually 75ish.M@t, have you had a cardiologist do a thorough work-up on you? My dad had a low heart rate similar to yours, and was sent to a cardiologist. They found that he actually had bigeminy. Can't remember the specifics, but his heart was actually beating twice what was registering, which brought it back up into a normal range. Not saying bigeminy in itself is normal, though. TaraMc9
I'm diagnosed with POTS. On the beta blocker, my heart rate is usually in the 70s when sitting & the 90s when standing. If I'm active at all, it's over 100. Before I was on the beta blocker, it was in the 80's when sitting & over 150 when standing.
yogini
My resting rate varies from 70-120. Literally. Such is life with POTS. I think my "baseline" is 75-85.
