  1. I get tunnel vision also. I've had it all my life. I have it reading in bed (like you) but it can also happen while driving. If so I shake my head a few times and take a little bite which seems to help.
  2. So sorry to hear you are struggling Bigskyfam. I've heard people regret their ablation as it seems it made their POTS worse. I hope you and your doc will be able to figure out what is needed! Sending warm thoughts!
  3. I'm so sorry ks42, this sounds quite serious. I hope you will find answers asap!
  4. Hooray for Tyler! And thanks for sharing the article Rachel, as always!
  5. I got us a puppy! And though it might not be your kind of thing and I need to say that at times I have trouble taking care of my fur baby (others step in when I can't take care of him, we agreed on that before we got him!) he def is a great distraction! I remember there are also tricks when you set an alarm on your mobile phone several times a day and when you hear it you can purposely think of something happy or positive.
  6. I recently read an article on diagnosing via what we call "poor man's" tilt. I can't remember where or I should copy and paste the link for you here but if I remember well, this seems very reliable and no HUT would be needed. Having said that, you may need to check out other symptoms that could be connected with POTS. Hope this helps!
  7. After about 15 years or so I have found my dream team. They are my Neurologist (POTSspecialist, he is called the best in my country), my Cardiologist who was the first to mention POTS and sent me to the Neuro. My PT who is really wonderful and understands (which is SO unusual!), the tech who does the measurements when I'm exercizing and interprets them (haha I forgot what he's called sorry), my superduper best trainer in the world, who makes sure I'm safe as soon as I enter the gym and took me home every time I couldn't drive home myself and last but not least my very understanding GP who is always thinking and working with me. I truly am SO lucky to have found them!
  8. Hi heckofagal, I'm sorry you are still struggling. I think it would be best to talk this over (and have it backed up by your gp) with dr Kinsella. I really hope your appointment will go well, it seems you are def in need of answers!
  9. Wow, I'm so glad for all of you! You have done and are doing an amazing job mama bear, big hats off to you! I have always loved exercizing, even doing a small program while in bed or chair. I believe it's most important to my dys body to somehow keep it going. Also I like to feel proud of what I'm able to do re exercizing, it keeps the happy hormones flowing which I think benefits me!
  10. Hi jamesldavis1! We can't give you any advice on what is safe for you or what isn't, that really is up to your doctors! I do think there are members who are on Effexor, though I don't know what type of POTS they have. I hope someone can chime in to share what works for him/her. Always keep in mind that what works for one doesn't necessarily have to work for another. Good luck!
  11. I can't really help you, just hope you'll find a real good one!
  12. I think I remember to have read that too when I was using McAfee. Not sure why. I did love using McAfee but they may be a little too protective? Could we ask our IT specialist?
  13. Thanks for letting us know Rachel and great to hear Tyler is doing better!
  14. I don't have them atm but my typical time is around 4pm, I start to feel feverish and flu-ish. It lasts until around 8pm. I have no idea why
  15. You are def making progress Becia in learning to live with all this and working around your condition. Sending good thoughts your way and hope you'll be home real soon!
  16. I have nothing to add other than that I hope that you will start to feel better and delivery will go smoothly. I'm sure you'll be a great mommy! You can do it! And please do not forget: nobody's perfect, healthy or not. It's the love for your child that makes all the difference!
  17. Hi samip! Please know that you're not alone, lots of us are fighting this battle with you. I hope your doctor will find the med that works for you soon. Keep hoping!
  18. I'm so sorry DizzyGirls, that's a long wait! Sending good thoughts and hope you'll all get through!
  19. Hi SunnyD, welcome to DINET! That's great to hear you're doing so much better in Colorado! I hope you will be able to work things out and that a move will work well for you. Good luck!
  20. Hi RustyAnn! Members are allowed to share doctor's experiences, however, due to liability issues, if you had a bad experience with a doctor/hospital while naming them, that is all you can say. There's always the pm feature to share any info you'd like! I've copied and pasted the particular rule re this here for everyone: Doctors and Hospitals You agree to refrain from making disparaging remarks about hospitals or medical professionals on this forum and to refrain from naming doctors or hospitals when elaborating on negative experiences. Clarifications: It is fine to make a general statement, such as "I had a negative experience with Dr. ____ ," however, per forum rules, statements naming a particular doctor or hospital cannot be defamatory in nature. Defamatory: "1. Harmful and often (but not necessarily) untrue; tending to discredit or malign." You may elaborate on negative doctor or hospital visits as long as the particular doctor or hospital is not named, and therefore not defamed.
  21. When I started measuring it turned out that not only did I have hypo's but also the hypers. To try level out the enormous swings I started a low carb diet which worked really well for me. I think it's really important to find out exactly what is going on. I had the longterm blood test (where they level out totals of blood sugars) and it came back okay. Only when I started to take measurements myself (several times a day) the high and low levels were discovered. I had no idea and was really at a loss what to eat. I think I'm trying to say that you need your doctor and a dietician to help you find out more and learn how to work with the results! Good luck Mike, I'm sorry you need to wait for so long!
