  1. Hi, I would like to suggest that you check this - with the many conditions metioned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fever_of_unknown_origin and also go to pub med ,the info there is staggering , you can search by symptoms. best of luck to you pat
  2. Hi, I wish you success (of course) I see that you are pulling out all the stops. My 2 cents is, be careful of "salt loading" while on fludrocortisone. ' "keep us posted"!
  3. no worries. I didn't see the first post. Tough to see children struggle. Wishing her continued improvements.
  4. antihistamines (or decongestants)can prolong your QT wave. And can cause serious heart rhythm problems. You could talk to a pharmacist to see if any other meds you took compounded the effect. Cipro is one I think. Norpace is one. This is very unlikely but can happen.
  5. sugartwin you might do a search on cerebral hypoxia "{Continued oxygen deprivation results in fainting, long term loss of consciousness, coma, seizures, cessation of brain stem reflexes, and brain death.[19]" that was from wikipedia
  6. I have had seizures, I did not experience the breathing issues. I also have only a few seconds of recall. In other words I have partial consciousness - I think as I'm coming out of it. It is always (in fact) longer then it seemed to me.
  7. I have convulsive syncope. I have partial memories just like you describe. When there are people around that is when I find out they are partial. In other words I think I was conscious but I was out and obviously don't remember that part! I also have to tell you, you probably just think it was 10 or 15 seconds. I am not clear on if you collapsed to the floor. did you?
  8. Does your primary Dr. know your about to lose your Ins? Ask her to put you in ambulatory inpatient and get as much testing as you can. Also did you get a report from that TTT? good luck
  9. yes there is less blood volume. good luck at the gyn
  10. Oh yea there was Drama. The EMT was handsome one male, one female and they both were excellent, smart , friendly. One bystander texted his daughter(Dr. I think) and then tried to explain a little about neurocardiogenic syncope. Silly guy- I kinda know. Another said I should carry a Medic alert card. I'm like .yea, its in my wallet. Everyone meant well tho. I'm good. I laid down with my hood up cause I knew it was coming. I tryed to alert someone. He didn't speak english. HA! I was a little sore. It could have been alot worse. thanks for the replies
  11. I had to be somewhere weds. Got there and remembered that I needed to take my AM Norpace. I go home and take an immediate release which I have for times that I need it up to levels fast. Oppsy daisy not fast enough . I am the star of the pavement, complete with convulsions. The good news is they let me stay to take care of the business at hand and drive home, because the Dr. whom the EMTs called agreed that I'd be fine soon.
  12. It's really hard. Bury them in details. Send every scrap of evidence. My daughter is on SSI- been there.
  13. SNRI's definitely help me with OH, been on them for that reason. Take them only during the day.
  14. Lots of people here know how you feel, wanting a more concrete answer. Sad- if it is POTS - that it took so long to get the answer. Congrats on losing 100 pounds that's excellent. you go
  15. you should do a search on vasodepressor or vasovagel response. I shall refrain from diagnosing you myself.
  16. the following is from the DINET web site "things to avoid" "Dehydration is one of the worst states a POTS patient can be in. It is very important to always stay well hydrated.' so that should answer your question." wishing you good luck
  17. thanks guys, and Sue to answer your question. (about why I think I had low blood volume)My PCP and I discussed the timing of the worst symptoms and the improvements. They corresponded to perimenopause heavy flow. And he said he had seen low blood volume with perimenopause before. And Reen- post menopause the bp often rises - so it was menopause that helped me with both blood volume and higher bp. With NCS and OH those are important factors. The drop in BP from OH kicked in the NCS response.
  18. Sooooooooooo, where as I used too wear 30-40mg compression stockings the 20-30 is my preferred now. I no longer "salt load" I do try to water load - still. My 150mg Norpace is now 100, AND I am off the SNRI (which raises BP). My Norpace dose was lowered a month ago so it does look like a success. I am glad since Norpace is a med with serious side effects. I have been on it 6 or 7 years, I did need it to function. I think menopause has helped me also. My BP is up and most likely my blood volume too. I am -like 120/78 from-like 90/60.
