morgan617
Well Jake goes in for his bone scan tomorrow for the tumor above his knee. Please pray and keep your fingers crossed, or what ever you do for good things. I want you all to know how much your support lifts me and has gotten me through these last terrible days, when all you can do is wait for things. That's my hardest vice. Patience. No virtue there for me, but all this gabbing has helped keep my mind off it. I probably will not be on much for the next couple of days, but will let you know when I know. You are all so special to me, I just want you to know that morgan

morgan617
Hi all, no answers yet, but it's still pretty early here. Jake got through the scan okay, except his right leg is sort of out of whack and so they had to tape his feet together to keep it straight, which was pretty painfull for him. He also has a scoliosis in his lower back, and they kept telling him to straighten his back out more. He finally had to say, that's as straight as it gets, so deal with it...however much more passively than I would have!!! The tech showed him the scan, he actually has TWO tumors that aren't connected and there's something wrong with his knees, but the tech couldn't give him anymore info than that. Benign and cancerous tumors can appear to be similar, I have figured out, obssessively purusing the internet, so I went ahead and and made an appt. with an orthepedic specialist for the beginning of next week. I don't care whether we're told it's benign or not, his doctor really dropped the ball. For me okay, for my baby, totally unacceptable! She will be fired today. What is it about rheumatologists especially when it's juvenile onset.... We got the results of the x rays that were so hard for the nurse to decipher 3 weeks ago. The doctor's excuse was the report was poorly written. Therefore, results were easily missed. The report was one page with Right knee and Left knee both written in capital letters. I could have read it with forks stuck in both eyes. They are all soooo fired.. Anyway, will let you know when I hear anything. Thanks for your concern! morgan P.S. And thanks for letting me vent
geneva
Morgan, your son is truly a trooper and I know all of you are dealing with so much waiting to get the results but smart to go ahead and get the appointment with the specialist. You must of pushed hard (good for you!) to get in to a specialist so quickly. Lack of patience is a good thing when it comes to dealing with incompetence and I think you are so right to fire someone who can't read a simple report for 3 weeks...just incredible. thanks for keeping us posted. morgan617
Oh my poor baby..... Ttthe bone scan showed intense activity and necrosis, hallmarks of cancer. oh my God, please give me strength. He has to have an mri as soon as possible next week and see an orthepedic oncologist. I'm sorry, I just can't talk or focus. It was so hard to tell him.....
