Hi Northerndarlene, I see the sparks, fireflies, or floaters which I believe they call them.I have not had the TV like snow vision but have Blackouts ( not fainting but loss of vision). All of these occur at anytime night or day and can happen looking in any direction. I too have seen an eye Doctor to rule out problems associated with my dizziness, migraines, etc and was told all was good except I have dry eyes and corneal erosions. I have not been prescribed or know of any known remedies for it. Good luck.......anyone else know?
Guest tearose
I only get snow before I faint and I am able to avoid this by sitting down fast. This is one of my early warning signs so I take it as a blessing!
MomtoGiuliana
Besides floaters I have occasionally seen pinpricks of very bright light for very short periods. My eye doctor sees no problems and was puzzled by this symptom a couple of yrs ago when I described it. I have chalked it up to POTS and perhaps it is some form of migraine. It is very mild for me so I have not worried about it.
houswoea
Me too I know mine aren't aruas, but I figure if it has been this long and nothing bad has happened, I'm probably good. I like to air on the side of a medication side-effect.... maybe it's not, but it's certainly annoying and frustratin!
Nikki
I get the tiny sparkles when I look up at the sky or in a white room or something. Not the tv snow though. I have been diagnosed with migraines..So I'm guessing it might just be from that.
rach73
Hi,I get what I call sparkles if I move my head quickly, when I have a low BP. To me its like seeing stars! I do get migraines but my migraine auras are completely different, they stay in the corner of my vision and are zig zag lines of blue green and red. The stars / sparkles are throughout my field of vision and only last a few seconds. My migraine aura will last from 15-60 mins until the pain kicks in. These days however I dont seem to get the auras with migraines.....but I am very lucky as when I was a teenager I had them several times a week. Now its only once or twice a year.Ive always seen floaters / bubbles in my vision even when I was a kid - I thought for a very long time that everyone had them!As I say I know I tend to get these stars if I am sat up straight or stood up so I associate them with low BP. I don't get them when I am laying down or in a recliner.Rach
Noreen
I get visual snow but not from looking at a light background. I also have floaters, etc. the snow seems to show up more when autonomic symptoms are prominent. I have tended to attribute them to migraines. I have reported them to docs but haven't gotten any answers.
Tuesday
I have persistent visual snow. It's always there. I really don't know what causes it though. I also have really bad floaters.
gertie
does anyone see tiny pin point sparks of light when looking at the sky or white background and see tv like snow at night? what causes this and is there medication i can take for this. been to eye dr.s they said my eyes look good. i do get migraines auras sometimes.I get a lot of different visuals. I get the snow at night occ. It usually happens after I've been asleep & wake up. Mine looks like white dots all over the ceiling & walls. It goes away after I've been awake for a few min. When I took Neurontin as a migraine preventive I didn't have it. I've never found out what causes it.
Sallysblooms
It is pretty common. I have read about them on the internet quite a bit.
cordellia
floaters now and then... but on a few occasions i have seen a grid that covers all surfaces--sometimes it is gray othertimes white. i have only seen the grid upon waking and in dim light. it effects both eyes and last for several seconds.generally, my vision is quite good--reading glasses... best to all, cordelia
autumn
I have visual snow 24/7, in the light, dark and even when my eyes are closed, which seems strange. I get the pinpricks of light when it's bright out, and I also see these small, translucent, bubble-like structures every day in certain lights. I see similar shadowy structures, too, almost like clusters of the bubbles. I also have afterimages that seem to stick around longer than normal. The snow I've seen for as long as I can remember; when I was little, I used to think of it as tiny little bats in my room at night. The other visual disturbances developed later. I've been sent to various eye/brain specialists, and everything has checked out. Unrelated, I think, are the vision blackouts I get, which I've always attributed to low or plummeting blood pressure.
ramakentesh
Yepp my first symptom before I got POTs or AS was 24/7 visual snow. they told me i had a permanent migraine aura and to ignore it. And that's what I did. Also happens in MS.
