Complete Brain-fog!

Recommended Posts

I keep feeling like I should be remembering to do something, but every time I try to think of what it is, its like trying to remember a dream and things get all weird and jumbled. I'm not even sure I am supposed to remember something! Things are a little strange right now. I just had Pilates and am done in for the rest of the day. I also got up 30 minutes earlier in preparation for the time change (somebody please stop that madness!) I haven't felt this fuzzy-headed/weird since my last big crash in '07. I'm feeling really idiotic right now and really tired, like I could go to bed and sleep through tomorrow as well. Would missing 30 minutes of sleep do this to me? Anybody relate?

I get days like this occasionally.

I remember one time my thoughts were so jumbled I felt like I had to take a minute just to sit and sort them so I could think straight - it was actually quite frightening and I was convinced that I was going crazy!

I find the only thing that helps me is sleep (even though the new specialist I'm seeing said to exercise rather than sleep or lay down <_< ) and fluids.

Hope the fog lifts for you soon.

Totally relate. I have good days & bad days when it comes to brain fog but have word-finding issues pretty much everyday. My family is used to me referring to just about everything as "that thingy" and amazingly, usually figure out what I'm saying! It does get super frustrating and I did break down an cry at one point last month - so I get how hard it can be. Also especially hard in social situations when you dont want to sound completely idiotic!! Hang in there... You're certainly not alone.

aww, darn it! Why did you have to remind me of the time change! When I first read this thread I thought it was this past Sunday and I had missed it. I panicked for almost 10 minutes when I realized if I was going everywhere an hour late so was everyone at college. Then I calmed down. tee hee!

I get the random dream-like activity too. You feel as if you are in a dream sequence or the like. I also have those moments where I feel like I should do something that I never would do in real life, like those compulsions you get in dreams. One particularly bad week (sleep deprivation, POTS, and stress) I had been dreaming about smoking and went about my days craving cigarettes! Even weirder since I am not a smoker and never have been and being around ciggy smoke generally makes me sick. Yet, it took all my will power not to jump one of my friends and steal his butts. How weird! I also frequently get those dream-feelings and check to see if I am wearing pants because going places without them is one of my regular dreams.

It is bad when you have had a hard week and aren't feeling well and people at school (college) ask you to spot them some weed. I am not stoned, I swear. POTs can be all of the stupid behavior and confusion with none of the pleasant side effects (like reduction of nausea).

Up again, completely disoriented. I hate this whole time thing, I was sleeping soooooo well too. Yesterday was exactly like a dream sequence! This does not bode well for my upcoming attempt to shift my circadian rhythm disorder. I think that, for me, a lot of my POTS is related to my hypothalamus. Messing with my circadian rhythm screws it all up, my heart should not be pounding this hard, this early in the morning! I can feel why so many heart attacks happen in the morning now! Groan!

I experience that a lot, even more since menopause. Most days I'm not comfortable driving because I feel like my brain is scrambled. I make lists for everything or I would never get anything done. I'm curious if you take vit supplements? Some vit's make me worse especially vit D. Hope you're back to normal soon.

Having seen the great research you've been posting recently, all I can say is I WANT BRAIN FOG LIKE YOURS!

Not really. I know it's frustrating as all get out. There are days where I won't drive because I see the stupid stunts I'm pulling at home and can't take the chance of doing something stupid on the road. Guess maybe that's the good side of no one knowing about dysautonomia? They can't arrest you driving under the influence of it. :)

I'm starting to develop a theory on using Suduku as my litmus test for brain fog. The days where I just sit and stare at the "light and easy" ones are days I know I should NOT be doing our finances. ;)

Good luck this weekend!

I've always had issues with Daylight Savings Time (pre-POTS even). As a kid, I occasionally had sleeping problems.

So yeah, I am not having a good day, either. Plus I had to visit the OB/GYN today, so I had anxiety = a few hours of sleep for me last night!

And I have an important thing going on this afternoon.

Timing. It's a :P

But I feel you. Dehydration makes it worse for me, too.

LOL - Driving under the influence of dysautonomia

Thanks for the laugh - wish it weren't so true!
