  1. Same exact thing happened to me! I could barely stand after my tilt table test. The doctor put me in a wheelchair and she sent me to the cafeteria to drink gatorade. Took me an hour or two to feel better. And by "better", I mean back to my baseline of being always lightheaded and on the verge of fainting!! What were your TTT results? Hopefully you can get some answers and start feeling better soon
  2. I think it depends on the person. I don't have a POTS diagnosis, and xanax can lower heart rate and blood pressure, so I think some people need to be careful. For me, it made me feel even more lightheaded.
  3. I have never been hospitalized. I have been to the ER a few times when I fainted and someone called 911, but I've never been on my own accord.
  4. Hahah very fitting for me too. Story of my life, trying not to black out!!!!!
  5. Wow! That's great! Having a good, caring doctor is the best. Hopefully he can get you feeling better now!
  6. runningwild, I love the lyrics in your signature. What are they from?
  7. I don't have the hot problem, but I definitely have the cold problem! It's awful. I am nearly always freezing, and my hands and feet are ice. Just can't keep them warm.
  8. misstraci, what medications do you take? could meds be the reason?
  9. Just found this on youtube - I think it's really helpful, and wanted to share!
  10. To the women here - does your POTS or dysautonomia get worse when you have your period? For me, I am always lightheaded and presyncopal, but it is so much worse when I have my period. i can barely stand and am always close to fainting.....ugh!
  11. Thanks, HyperPOTS8. Can I ask what brand of NaCl tablets you use/where you get them?
  12. Hi all, I recently bought thermotabs since I was having difficulty getting enough salt in my diet. It says each tablet contains 180mg sodium and 452 mg of sodium chloride. My doctor says to have "5 g of salt a day". Does that mean 5 g of sodium, or 5 g of sodium chloride?? Also, how many thermotabs do you guys take a day, and how often? Thanks!
  13. Hi all, Quick question - I know in people with POTS, the HR increases 30 or more bpm from sitting to standing. But how much of an increase is there in normal/healthy people?? Thanks!
  14. I wonder if you can skip some of your appointments and just follow-up over the phone?
  15. Thanks so much, sarahm. Do you by any chance know what the model is? I do sometimes take my blood pressure manually, but my doctor has me take it sitting and then standing, and it can be hard to do manually while standing especially when I get really weak and dizzy. Thanks for the advice though!
  16. Hi all, I have noticed that my blood pressure monitor gives an "error" when I am feeling super weak and dizzy - I imagine it is because my blood pressure is too low for it to detect. I saw someone else post about this a little while ago, so I know I'm not the only one with this issue! Can anyone recommend a good brand of blood pressure monitor that doesn't give an "error" with very low blood pressures? Thanks so much. Hope everyone is feeling well Leigh
  17. I have read that long-term use of florinef can weaken the immune system and make you more prone to getting ill. Do you take florinef by any chance? Perhaps that is part of the reason.
