john redman Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 What are the side effects of Reglan (metaclopromide) that people have suffered. It looks like I will be taking it the rest of my life for gastroparesis. Thanks.John Quote
BEE Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 I stopped it becasue I believe liek you said once oyu are on it you r body will eventually adjust to needing it. I will try and remember what side-effects I developed it was a little less than a year ago. Quote
Sunfish Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 john - i would recommend doing a search as reglan has been discussed many times (i know i've described my experience several times even recently). side effects can range from none to minor irritations to severe. and just b/c you need it now - particularly since GP is fairly new to you - does NOT mean that it's "forever." melissa Quote

dawn Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 John,My doctor gave me a Rx to take occasionally. He said I needed to be cautious because in the long term it causes parkinson like symptoms. He really doesn't like the medication at all. I have been chewing 5 papaya tablets that I bought at GNC. Papaya has a natural enzyme in it to aid digestion. It has helped me and is safe as it is only fruit.Do you have severe gastroparesis? I do have it and have learned to eat very small meals sometimes just bites. When I can feel my stomach is not working at all I just drink fluids.Dawn Quote
DSM3KIDZ Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I have heard complaints of depression and anxiety. I only get a small twitching in my toe when I take it which is only a few times a month.Dayna Quote
