  4. baby boy.. sorry that you are feeling so well crappy.. It sounds like you are in a pots hole.. wish I had words of wisdom for you.. try doing things that you enjoy.. tha you are still able to do at home.. at your own leaisure.. can you do a work out at home? maybe use some dumb bells for arm exercising/weight lifting..it will help keep you buff!! LOL Um maybe you can do a search online.. before things are shut down.. and see what kind of exercises you can do at home.. I realize that working out at home is not the same as being at the gym.. and I second Katherine's thought of wathcing less News coverage on the storm..it is absolutley terrifying and so very sad.. what happened..if you want to see news covrage watch maybe only a few minutes at a time.. then try and find something else to do.. watch a fav. movie.. talk to a freind... well baby boy I wish you well.. dizzygirl
  5. OH!! NO!! Oh that makes me feel so sad.. I was so hoping that Lunesta could be taken in a higher dose!! it does help when I am able to fall alseep that is.. and doesnt make me feel like I am in the land of druggies in the morning.. or my case whenever.. when I wake up! I am afraid to try something more potent.. due to the bad reaction I had with remeron.. but will talk to the doc and figure something out! from one dizzygirl to another.. or potsy girl.. LOL
  6. Happy BIRTHDAY CORINA!! So hapy that your day turned out good!! Love ya Linda
  7. hey guys thanks for the tips!! and input.. melissa.. on Lunesta ground.. I just called the doc today about increasing my dose of Lunesta.. I had that one good night of sleep.. and insomnia is back full force!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO freakin' tired!! But I am reamining hopeful that a higher dose of Lunesta will help me sleep! I am on the 3mg now.. will they go higher then that? Hmmm???
  8. Hi..POTs we believe started at birth..then my more frequent sysmptoms began to start right before I began my menstrual cycle when I was about 11-12 yrs old. and then became totally full blown after I neck injury and a case of bronchitus.. at the age of 19..and has been severe since then..
  9. Persephone... hey i agree with carmen too.. about BP Medds and schooling.. If your BP stays up like that you definately need to get that checked out... and maybe a higher dose of BB's Oh persephone please dont give up on school.. not now when you are so close to achieving your goals!!! and went through all that hard work to get to where you are now...where there is a will there is a way.. Please talk to us as much as you need to... we are here for you!!

  11. thanks for the info pooh.. I did not know that.. good luck with getting your wheelchair.. Linda
  12. good idea about a second hand walker!!.. I will have to save up and look for one.. a wheelchair.. is my first guess too.. now I just have to play the waiting game with insurance company's!! Oh joy!! thanks guys!
  13. Oh Persephone.. i can totally realte to what you are feeling and saying right now.. I wish that I had some great words of wisdow and advice for you.. but I can offer you my support and ear ready and willing to listen.. and to be a shoulder to cry on when you are blue.. or frustrated or angry.. or whatever.. about your Bp..I dont remeber.. are you On a Beta blocker?? I know BBs arent the cure all.. and sometimes that they dont help at all or help too much.. if you arent on one.. will your doc be willing to put you on one? do you have insurance to pay for it by chance?? It never ceases to amaze me how how horrible some of these supposide health care providers.. can just ingnore the facts and proof that is sitting right there in front of them.. I mean it is pretty obvious that there is a problem!! EEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... i feel so angry for you!!! and just want to slap these docs silly till they "get it".. well persephone.. hang in there.. Linda
  14. Hi all... well I cant remeber if I have mentioned this or not.. but I believe ti was friday..i got a call from the rehabiliation store downtown.. asking me what exactly i thought would be more useful.. scooter.. walker..or and electric wheelchair.. I said that I would preferr and electric wheelchair.. something that offers some support in regards to back.. neck suport... and he said Ok.. we can look into that.. well we started discussing other options.. I also said that I would like a walker or something to use with in the house.. and use the wheelchair when i go out.. I will be able to transport this chair by bus or by using the LIFt program... and where i live isnt real big.. (door ways small.. and staris..) so I need something to use inside the house too.. well here is where we hit a road block.. he said that with having Medicaid and Medicare.. Medicare being my primary insurance.. that they are going to only pay for one peice of equipment.. and that our best bet is to go with the more exspensive piece... and that medicaid "might" pay for a walker..but that is a big might.. see the thing is I really could use both of them wheelchiar and walker..But chances are.. I'll only be able to get one.. and I am more apt to go with the wheelchair.. and just stumble along inside the house.. and pray that I dont take an tumble on the stairs..or pass out in the hall between the bed room and the bathroom.. So I am curious.. what do you guys preferr to use?? I know that this is an idividual thing.. but still am wondering.. It (as I am sure that you guys can relate too) has taken alot for me to "get over myself" and resign to the fact that hey I need some help here!! Oh, yeah i aslo have to go through an evaluation through a PT place..did you guys have to do that before you could get you wheelchair and stuff? OH!!!!!! I almost forgot to tell you.. after being on that Lunesta since last wednesday..Boy I feel alseep last nigth at about 2 am nd slept all the way till 9:30 this morning!! Wahoo!! that is the most sleep I have had at one time in like allmost a month! i felt SOOO good when i woke up this morning..I felt half way human till about 11am.. then that potsy feeling hit and I had to take a nap.. then another nap this evening.. But I am sleeping!!! THANK GOD!!!.. LOL.. thought I would share that tid bit with you.. thanks guys linda

  16. hey there poohbear. Have you heard of... Cricopharyngeal dysfunction...? My dear friend.. she also has POTS.. and she went to see some kind of throat doc.. who diagnosed her with this..it actually is a problem with the muscle in the throat.. and I believe that it is in constant spasaming.. anyways.. she said that this problem can be related to ANS probs. I dont know if this is what is wrong with you or not..But thought that you could at least look into it.. you never know.. you might find something to help you.. Sorry that i dont have alot of other options or idea's for you.. goodluck pooh!!! dizzygirl

  22. I second nina's suggestion of being careful with manipulation..for some people who are healthy and just need a neck adjustment.. is one thing.. but when you have a multitute of things going on.. you never know.. I had my neck "cracked once about 6 mos. ago.. and I will never do that again..OUChie!!!! so use caution!!!
  23. HOORAY!!! good for you!! I am so glad that they got it fixed for you..have fun on your first night in the dorm.. and on your first day of classes.. let us know how it goes... linda
  24. well..I have alot of neck pain too..I get it under my ears and all along the back of my neck.. and up the back of my head. I would rate the pain at severe at times.. and on a good day moderate pain..the pain in my neck also causes some pretty wicked headaches.. ABout 4 yrs ago when i was in PT.. my PT guy was trying to message my neck so that i could move it alittle bit and right under that funny little bone in that base of your skull where your head and neck meet.. I had? and still have severe knotts right underneath those bones.. and they tissues and muscles were severly inflammed.. and they would be huge Mungo knotts all across my shoulder down along my spine, along my shoulder blades through out my ribs.. and all along my collar bone and breast bone.. my god they are painfull.. My Pt would try to message them out.. and I would jump sround on the table so much from the pain that I would cry..at this time I had lost all range of motion in my neck and right arm.. what I did find that helped me.. was moist heat under my neck. and on my upperback..and also he used this ultrasound wand.. it was pretty neat.. it send like some kind of waves through your muscles.. and help relaxes them.. and I also got great relief from a tenz unit.. they are exspenses.. so if you can get you insurance company to pay for it.. that would be good.. It is some 4 yrs later.. i have limited ROM in my neck .. but have gained allmost all range of motion in my arm back.. thank GOD!!.. for along time I could not lift my arm to wash or brush my hair.. i got very good and doing that with one hand.. my left hand at that!! (i am right handed) you can try doing gentle neck stretching exercises..if you want I can email you what to do.. um.. about night time..I found this wonderful buckwheat hull neck pillow..that rested and support your neck..I use it sitting up.. in long car rides.. and at night to sleep.. I got mine or about $20 bucks I think..i dont remember where I bought it though.. my neck pain is a result of severe fatigue.. coupled with a herniated disk..rotated spine..scoliosis..and muscle/tissue damage.. I hope that you get some relief with your pain and can find some answers.. good luck sallyann Linda
