  1. I drink coffee too and it does help me! Other than that I really love coffee. Have been drinking coffee since I was 8! Hope you will like it and it will work for you Sue!
  2. Just what I was thinking, so promosing!
  3. I thought that perhaps the sugar could cause you problems? Lots of electrolyte drinks contain a lot of that. You could try checking blood sugars before and after drinking.
  4. Hi Justin, I did a serach for you using the "search button" (top right), for some tramadol helps control their POTS for others it makes things worse. You can read topics on tramadol here: http://forums.dinet.org/index.php?/search/ by just filling in Tramadol!
  5. Sounds super exciting Ancy! Hope you can figure things out to try horse riding!
  6. Hi every one, welcome! Feel free to ask everything you need to know!
  7. Glad to read some good news Lindz! Glad your doctor is s cooperative and to know he's optimistic!
  8. Hi Pinky, glad you found us!
  9. Yayyyy we're making progress!!!! Baby steps count too don't they?!
  10. For me mestinon works on keeping my temps up!
  11. For me it's like meds that can hurt and help. It's a balancing act. Like with octreotide, it can cause huge problems but for me it helps me function on a much higher level than before I was on this med. Adding salt and fluids helps me a lot, I have always craved salt, I bet for a reason! I think it's a good thing to read and research but it's a personal choice to weigh out the pro's and con's of what works best in your personal situation.
  12. I don't do well with surgery either, but think it's the type of anesthectics that causes problems. The last time I had surgery under full anesthesia I got 5 eadrenalin injections because my bp kept tanking. When I had foot surgery two years ago I chose to have a popliteal block which worked well and didn't work on bp for me.
  13. If I were you I would contact the Staff and discuss this problem. There might be other people with standing problems or, if not, may be some one is willing to come sit next to you so that you're not alone. Hope this helps Sophia!
  14. I think I remember we've discussed homeschooling before, I hope there are members around who can help you decide!
  15. Sue, I'm not sure whether this might work for you, but it does help me a lot: I've been on a low carb diet for over a year now to level out blood sugars, and though I lost 13 kilo's (which was too much for me) I've been doing much better blood sugar-wise. Just thought to let you know! Oh and I def can't cheat, my body will pick it up immediately and starts off giving me real lows (like 2,4 ie)
  16. Hi Michele, welcome to DINET! I hope your testing went well!
  17. Hi Lucy, welcome to DINET! I hope the physician's list will help you find the right for you doctor!
  18. Hi Lynda and welcome! I'm sorry your daughter has so much going on. Is she still seeing dr Mathias? He seems to be top doc in the UK! I have been diagnosed with diabetes about twenty years ago and undiagnosed a few months later. I have found out that my blood sugars are jumping up and down through the day. A low carb diet is helping to level out the highs and lows. There are several members here from the UK so perhaps this forum will help you find some like minded people to make you feel less alone.
  19. Have you tried Clonidine? I've been told this could be an effective med in HyperPOTS. Don't know if you tolerate this med, asking your doctor(s) is key of course! Sorry you have so much going on.
  20. Hi, welcome to the forum! I'm sorry you're disappointed re your doctors appointment. I think provigil is "commonly" used in POTS. May be bringing an article re Provigil in POTS could be helpful.
