cardiactec Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 just wanted to post this. -->http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/conditions/...reut/index.html Quote
DanniBunny Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 If you read the article the only risk is if its directly over your chest and it dosen't happen 100% of the time. I'd imagine its the same way for MOST electronic devices in that position. If you just move the ipod to another location, it shouldn't cause any interference. Quote
Sophia3 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 On the Paul Harvey news last Friday, he said the IPOD could affect pacers up to 18 inches in distance. Quote
yogini Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I think this was a study done by a high school student, so it's not necessarily conclusive evidence ...though it probably doesn't hurt to be safe. My Polar heart rate monitor seems to act up sometimes when I'm using my ipod, so I wouldn't be surprised if the ipod sends out an electrical signal which could mess up a pacemaker. Quote
Dawg Tired Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Well, I'm good... I have a very long cord on my earbuds and I put the mP3 player on the headboard of the bed, so I have plenty of distance! Quote
MightyMouse Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I just sent a copy of the article to my dad who has a combo pacemaker/implanted defibrilator. Thanks for posting that...Nina Quote
