I feel so rejected

Tuesday I put a call into the cardio who put me on florinef and BB two and half months ago. I'm doing worse and asked about the possibliity of being one of those who shouldn't be on one or both of these meds. I also asked for help finding a Endo and about IV Treatments. Well, I finally heard back from his office last night.

Here's the message. "The doctor didn't respond to your questions yet and he will now be gone for three weeks. The physicians assistant looked at your questions and suggests that you follow up with your endocrinologist or your family physician."

My family physican has never prescribed florinef - this is why she wanted this cardio to oversee it. I feel like I have nowhere to turn!

I am thankful that my primary has found me an endo to see in a week and half. I just hope these meds are not making me worse or going to cause some complication before then! My BP has dropped as low as 74/49. I haven't felt this bad since right after my TTT. :P

You are all a great comfort to me. Ernie is an inspiration and many of you have reached out to me. Thank you!

It's so hard to know what to do in situations like this. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want to go cold turkey off either of these meds ... but maybe lowering the dosage may help you a bit. I guess if I were in your situation, I'd call my regular GP--because even though she's not the prescribing doc, she should still be following your case and knowing what's going on for you. If nothing else, she could look up the dosing options for these meds and talk to you about alternatives. Remember, even if you're feeling crappy, that it's important to eat well and to keep up with your salt and fluid intake, which will help your blood pressure.

Best to you--I'm sorry you're feeling poorly!

Hi Roselover,

I'm sorry that you're feeling so bad. I think you could ask your family doctor to help you out, eventhough she didn't prescribe florinef. She saw you more often, so she's familiar with you and should be able to help you some with the meds, like Merrill said by looking up the dosages etc. When I asked my familydoc to help me structure my specialists he was glad he could do that for me. When I'm in trouble now, I call him, he comes to my house and decides what to do and who HE is going to call (if necessary). That keeps me from calling the one or the other and gives me a very safe feeling, because all I have to do is call my familydoctor. He feels less frustrated because he now can do something for me and I feel very safe.

Best wishes,

Corina

Hey Merrill,

and you know what???? You'd adore him, just like I do, he is sooooo caring. So please, hop over and meet my doctor and my PT who I also love very much (she makes house calls as well :D ). Despite the POTS I feel very well taken care off. My husband works at Amsterdam Airport, he can pick you all up (shall I ask him to take a bus or what??? :P

Maybe we could do some karaoke in the evening,

love to all,

Corina

A house calling doctor???? Boy am I in the wrong country or what.... I'd get a hold of my pcp too, because basically with all my docs, they just made recommendations to my primary and then he took over, so he has no problems adjusting things, except I'm not on anything, but if I was....he would. Your GP can at least look up these drugs and give you a few pointers. Isn't it lovely being left in the lurch like that. That cardio would no longer be my doctor, even if he was the only one there. I just don'r put up with that kind of crep anymore..sorry you are feeling so punk, join us for tea in the rose colored grand canyon room. morgan

Thank you Mogan, I have my cup of tea in hand (literally :D ) And... I'm buying my ticket to Amsterdam...I'd love to have a doc who makes housecalls too!!! Merrill, do you think he will be overwhelmed with all of us moving in???

Thanks for the support. I am planning on calling my PCP on Monday, but here's the thing=s. She's great, but is so very busy, and it takes a lot of time to research this stuff. She has her own health issues and rehab going on as well. But I do love her.

My sweet husband has put me to bed so I won't pass out, set up my computer on my lap and is making me lunch. Now what do I have to complain about???

Trying to keep my head up while in the canyon, and very thankful for your company,

Roselover

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. It's so horrible and you wish the doctors could realize that even when they leave the office, you are still suffering, but they don't seem to care. I finally got one who told me that he knew i was frustrated, but he was too. But, i'm so sorry. IT's such a letdown to feel so horrible and then have to keep on waiting and have no one seem to care or just think you complain too much about insignificant stuff.

I'm thinkin about u and praying for u.

That's a real bummer that your doctor left for 3 weeks and did not take the time to deal with your problems. I wonder how he would feel if someone did that to him.

I would check with my PCP to see if I could lower the dosages and then see the endo.

Roselover,

I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me too. It's so frustrating and infuriating when the docs just leave a patient hanging out there for days or weeks on end. Is there another cardio that works in your docs office that you can see or have look at your chart to recommend adjustments to your meds?

If not, I certainly hope the endo will be able to help you. Hang in there girl. I know it's no picnic feeling the way you do.

Sending calming, healing thoughts your way.

What a terrible thing to do...3 weeks, is he nuts???!

I had a wonderful gp in the beginning but she finally felt I would be best served with an internist who was more familiar with the drugs prescribed. Sounds like your doctor feels the same way. My gp said she was still available if needed. I now have a very good internist who is easy to reach including email and willing to run coordination with the others. Perhaps the endo. you are going to see could do the same for you??

Sounds like you have a WONDERFUL husband!! Now do what he says and REST. Feel better soon.
