ramakentesh Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 In the mornings when my symptoms are bad i feel the urge to drink and eat. If i dont eat or drink for a long period i start to feel out of it - like my blood sugar is low. But i never had this problem before POTS - maybe its the higher amounts of adrenaline taking all the sugar out my body or something? Quote
morgan617 Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 I feel the same way, if I don't eat I feel all weird and sick, but I don't feel hungry, so it's hard to eat. Luverly pots bodies. morgan Quote
blackwolf Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 It is common for most people to eat several, as in 6-12, times a day.I average about 6-8 small meals a day.blackwolf Quote
nantynannie Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 Hi Rama,When I am having the adrenaline rush periods I find that I am very hungry all of the time. I think you are correct. I have been thinking that the adrenaline ups my metabolism somehow and it eats up all of my calories.Ann Quote
tammyokc Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I agree I feel weak until I eat, especially in the mornings. I was told I had hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) for 17 years and now I know it's POTS. I do feel better after eating sometimes so I know I have a little bit of low blood sugar but my weakness is mostly due to low blood pressure. It's hard though when we don't feel hungry but know we need to eat. I keep crackers and such by my bed and small bottles of gatorade. I try not to eat heavy carb. meals and keep it light. I feel hungry only 2 hours after a meal and have a lot of adrenaline so I agree our metabolism must be up cause of our fast heart rate! Quote
