gertie
Does anyone have an adverse reaction to mag? I always feel as if I will pass out or seizure when I take it. What could cause this? Thanks.
delphicdragon
I've never taken it, but Magnesium is given to pregnant women with pre-eclampsia to lower blood pressure. Maybe it's lowering yours too much.Sara
EarthMother
There are dozens of different types of magnesium depending on how it is bound and delivered. Some are powders like Natural Calm ( http://www.petergillham.com/product-line/p...atural-calm.php ) I used this for years and felt wonderful on it. What I like is that it was easy to titrate the dose since it was a powder that you mixed with water or juice ... I could have a little more or less depending on how I was feeling. However, when my palpitations got "annoying" again my cardiologist recommended I take Slo-Mag ( http://www.slowmag.com/ ) These are timed release magnesium and they really did the trick. I've been taking slo-mag for a year now and much less heart palpitations.Good luck finding a balance that works well for you.

gertie
I've tried many different kinds over the years & have the same weird side effect. I felt sure the topical cream would be a better choice than pills or pwd but I had same reaction to it. I obviously have an allergy to it. thanks for your comments. Guest tearose
I only use slo-mag after some SVT's or multiple spells of heart issues. It was found that the magnesium was needed to retain the potassium that seems to get depleated after these relapses. I only use it as needed and have no adverse effects. In fact, I felt improved...meaning no chest pain or much less of it.tearose
kayjay
can you tolerate it in food.? I know Pumpkin seeds for example have a lot (we just carved our jack o lanterns). You could find out what food are high in it and try to eat them more... or are you looking for a higher dose? I am just wondering if there is something else in the suppliments that are bothering you- kari
