  1. So Monday was yucky. I felt terrible (my bad day post). etc. Anyway, yesterday and then today my body is just unstable, plus my heart just feels like it has a big bruise over it and my face keeps tingling and my nose feels funny etc. SO. I went to my local doc and they did an orthostatic bp and pulse. I dont remember the bp but the pulse was 92,99,62 ... laying, sitting then standing in fairly quick succession. Hmmm But then as I was standing there I felt increasingly cruddy and could tell it was going thru the roof again. They did an ekg which was normal and pulse was 81. While waiting in line at the reception desk to make my two week checkup I took my pulse cause I started feeling yucky and it was 120ish.... So they are refferring me back to the cardiologist in eugene but I cant get in before March 2nd. Oh well. I guess I feel better knowing the ekg looked fine after feeling so bad monday and then all the chest discomfort since.
  2. I grew up in Kansas city, just south of the airport. Its hard I know.
  3. I haven't tried meditation...but I can say that even sitting up straight like a lotus position would demand, sets me off. I always have to sit reclined with my feet up or I will go all wonky. Perhaps try meditating laying down and see if it does the same thing?? just an idea.
  4. Yea it is weird...ALl I want to do when I am like that is lay down and go to sleep but then when I finally can hold down my bed I can't sleep. I suppose that makes sense, when your body thinks it is running a marathon or something.
  5. I used to have this a lot. Mostly when I was getting too much stimulation. Now really I only get audio interference when I am being presyncopal.
  6. Hello all, Yes I made it home safely. My daughters ballet was canceled and I was not sad about that! I curled up in bed and after two hours still and in the dark got my pulse down below 100 so I could sleep. chest aches, stiff body etc. etc. etc. Had kind of a yucky night and this morning I was late to work because I started to grey out when I stood up (2 times) . The third time I was ok and got ready for work. My pulse is still shooting up to the stars periodically, but I think I have an uneasy truce going. lol I really do appreciate all of you and this place. It does a world of good to be able to vent and be understood. (-;
  7. Fluorescent lights are definately a trigger... When I was a kid I used to say it was too many squares...in the mall mainly...we did not have a walmart, so we always went to the mall. Cold water also instantly helps me, but I agree it is short lived. At work I have two over my desk. I had them unscrew one of them and it is definately better but sometimes I have to turn out the lights entirely and use my little desk lamp. With both in I am miserable and the headache is rapid and terrible. Yuck.
  8. LOL ha.ha. YES TOTALLY!!!!!! My mom and now my husband and countless other people have always chided me for falling heavily onto couches and beds...but they just dont understand how freaking happy I am to be on it!!!!! lol Yes, sleep is a majorly good thing. Probably I am so tricksy today because this whole weekend my daughter got up at night, came in at 6am and made it otherwise impossible for me to get a nap in the afternoon... ah well. Yea, I will be careful driving... and keep up keeping up. lol But e-gads I wish there was a darn cure for this.
  9. I agree. I am staying at work till this calms down..Dont want to attempt the 30 min commute like this if I don;t have to. THEN I will find a way to get my four year old to ballet lessons. Then I think I will get her to bed and go hold down my own. lol
  10. he.he. Now that is a WHOLE nother story.... lol I guess he thinks quite highly of us. lol
  11. I have to say I find it funny that holding my urine could freak my body out like this. oh well...G-d does not give us anything we can't handle right? (-;
  12. I got stuck on a call at work this moring and had to go bathroom real bad..and my pulse went from 60 to 120. Got to bathrrom and now my body is apparently tricked into orbit. I can;t get my pulse below 100 resting. Feel all vibraty and my lips are tingly etc. Yuck.
  13. I think it could definately help. Even if the Dog could just sit by you it would be such a major comfort. Of course they could also be handy in biting psychiatrists that are sent to evaluate you. Lol. I think it is a great idea. So much of my battle at times is feeling safe. I know this disorder wont kill me but safety is a big issue. Like passing out at a bus stop in downtown....
  14. Oh sweetie, I am so sorry they did that to you. This is why I just plain distrust docs....Callous, ignorant idiots. Sometimes there are good ones but the idiots can make life awful. I know how it is to be dismissed and even dismissed and put in a psych ward of a hospital...I was 11 when they tried that, then they decided to show me what real problems are, when my mother protested, and put me in a facially distorted neurological ward... G-d I was scared. Don't you wish we could fire or pull credentials on the spot?! I am glad you are feeling better though.
  15. Mine tend to start in the back of my head too. If I lay down (not sit) just then I will be ok in a bit. If I persist in standing for 10 more minutes it lasts for a good day. If I just sit then it will be hours before it goes away. I work a desk job too so I have a constant headache. I think my blood pools in my legs too cause they tend to feel like water baloons....then I know I am in for it. Sometimes I feel like there is too much air in my head/pressure perhaps too as it starts to ache in the back and then move forward. its hard to explain the feeling. I love this place (-;
  16. Does anyone else get headaches when standing that if one ignores and keeps standing...dont go away for a long time?? or get worse?? I managed to make one last night and it is only getting worse. It feels kind of like I have too much oxygen in my brain. ( I should try that one on a doc. lol)
  17. I try and keep the loans in defferment but they are still accruing interest... Do you think you can get disability if you can work some?? If I could get down to 3/4 time or 1/2 time it would be a dream!!! I tried asking to work from home but my company is in rolling lay offs etc. and I have been told no so many times, I am afraid to keep asking. ya know? At work I try so hard to be just like everyone else...as far as work load and productivity, but I just can't. I feel like I have about 50% energy (in comparison to everyone elses 100%) and I have to divide it between family, toddler, work etc. etc...So ya know everybody gets about 10%. lol.
  18. I think the chronic hypotension was based of my medical records...a series of hospitilizations and passing out etc since I was 6 years old. The holter monitor is what the doc said caught the tachicardia which he said explained my fainting and near fainting... Yea, I need to start exploring again but I really wish I could get a good doc nearby. This is a small town and the docs are not good, generally...I had to drive 150 miles just to get the cardiologist who diagnosed the vagal syndrome.... I just wish I had a name so that I could go to my employer when it is bad and maybe get some releif, ya know?
  19. Thank you! I never have had a tilt table test or anything like that...I wish I could though. I have been kind of doc phobic since my last major doc round at 16-18 years old. 2 years ago they put me on a holter (sp?) monitor for a few days and caught a few bouts of tachycardia when I was feelig bad so they diagnosed it as "vagal syndrome w/ chronic hypotension".... I do notice that when I have taken my bp when I am really feeling bad (once with some tunnel vision) that it just errors out...so maybe it just isnt fast enough. who knows... I just get frustrated cause I want something to catch it once and for all, ya know? No more confused docs and negative tests... and miriads of Dx's. I put the darned monitor away so I would not obsess on it. You guys are all so nice....
  20. I had something similar once when I was 17, a while ago..... Lots of colors then I could not see or hear anything. I just kept throwing up and I could not stop. I had to struggle to breath between it... I am not quite sure what happened though. I dont remember ever stopping throwing up...but I woke up in bed...My mom was there. She said eventually I stopped and slumped down but could still walk and she put me to bed. I dont remember anything else about it though. Sounds scary...I will be thinking of you....
  21. I have just started monitoring my bp...although I know I go tachy... I caught this one at 10 at last night After 10 min rest........... bp 96/54 pulse 64 after 3 min standing........ bp 124/83 pulse 76 after 10 min standing... 2 errors & 113/77 pulse 80 After 12 min.................104/65 pulse 85. felt yucky....went to bed. My understanding is that normal is below 120/80 and that when you stand your upper reading should be the same or decrease slightly and your lower reading should increase slightly...I went over nomal and then it started to come down but my pulse kept heading upward..is that weird?? I did not pass out or anything but I felt yucky..Who knows.... Right ankle and arm hurt and had headache & nausea afterwards till about 11pm. I also got one right out of the shower when I felt bad of course... that was 120/80 w/ a pulse of 100. So I laid down for a few minutes and then got 107/66 w/ pulse of 70...whacky?? I felt yucky after that too.
